Three places claim the name, and all three have a shrine: Nicopolis (Imwas), with excavated Byzantine and Crusader basilicas; el-Qubeibeh, with a Franciscan church over a house and Crusader walls; and Motza-Qaluniya, which best fits the sixty stadia given by most manuscripts of Luke. None of the identifications is settled.
