An oasis with year-round waterfalls in two canyons cutting the cliff above the Dead Sea, now a nature reserve where ibex and hyrax are easily seen. On the slope stands a Chalcolithic sanctuary of the fourth millennium, and lower down the remains of a third-century synagogue with a mosaic floor and inscription.
