Can you visit it today?
A walled garden with eight old olive trees — radiocarbon-dated to several centuries, on roots probably older still — and beside it the Church of All Nations, built in 1924 over Byzantine and Crusader remains. Inside, the bare rock before the altar is what is venerated. The exact spot of the prayer is unknown; the nearby grotto preserves a rival tradition about the same night.
- Where it is
- At the foot of the Mount of Olives, across the Kidron valley from the Lions’ Gate.
