Now the sons of Israel, according to their number, the leaders of the families, the tribunes, and the centurions, and the chiefs, who were ministering to the king by their companies, entering and departing in each month of the year as they were in charge, were twenty-four thousand.2Al frente de la primera división, que era la del primer mes, estaba Jasobeam, hijo de Zabdiel; en su división había veinte y cuatro mil. Jashobeam, the son of Zabdiel, was in charge of the first company in the first month; and under him were twenty-four thousand.3Él era de los hijos de Fares, y mandaba a todos los jefes de los ejércitos del primer mes. He was from the sons of Perez, and he was the leader of all the other leaders in the army, in the first month.4Al frente de la división del segundo mes estaba Dodai ahohita, y su división, con la tropa que mandaba el príncipe Miclot, tenía veinte y cuatro mil. The company of the second month had Dodai, an Ahohite; and after him there was another, named Mikloth, who ruled over a portion of the army of the twenty-four thousand.5Jefe del tercer ejército, para el tercer mes, era el comandante Banaías, hijo del sacerdote Joiadá; en su división había veinte y cuatro mil. Also, the commander of the third company, in the third month, was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the priest; and in his division there were twenty-four thousand.6Este Banaías era héroe entre los treinta, y estaba al frente de los treinta; en su división estaba Amizabad, su hijo. The same is the Benaiah who was strongest among the thirty, and was above the thirty. But his son, Ammizabad, was in charge of his company.7El cuarto, para el cuarto mes, era Asael, hermano de Joab, y Zebadías, su hijo, después de él; su división comprendía veinte y cuatro mil. The fourth, for the fourth month, was Asahel, the brother of Joab, and his son Zebadiah after him; and in his company there were twenty-four thousand.8El quinto, para el mes quinto, era el jefe Samhut israíta, su división constaba de veinte y cuatro mil. The fifth leader, for the fifth month, was Shamhuth, an Izrahite; and in his company there were twenty-four thousand.9El sexto, para el sexto mes, era Irá, hijo de Iqués tecoíta, en cuya división había veinte y cuatro mil. The sixth, for the sixth month, was Ira, the son of Ikkesh, a Tekoite; and in his company there were twenty-four thousand.10El séptimo, para el séptimo mes, era Heles pelonita, de los hijos de Efraím; su división era de veinte y cuatro mil. The seventh, for the seventh month, was Helez, a Pelonite from the sons of Ephraim; and in his company there were twenty-four thousand.11El octavo, para el mes octavo, era Sibecai husatita, de los Zarhitas; su división tenía veinte y cuatro mil. The eighth, for the eighth month, was Sibbecai, a Hushathite from the stock of the Zerahites; and in his company there were twenty-four thousand.12El noveno, para el mes noveno, era Abiéser anatotita, de los Benjaminitas; en su división había veinte y cuatro mil. The ninth, for the ninth month, was Abiezer, an Anathothite from the sons of Benjamin; and in his company there were twenty-four thousand.13El décimo, para el décimo mes, era Maharai netofatita, de los Zarhitas, en cuya división había veinte y cuatro mil. The tenth, for the tenth month, was Maharai, and he was a Netophathite from the stock of the Zerahites; and in his company there were twenty-four thousand.14El undécimo, para el mes undécimo, era Banaías piratonita, de los hijos de Efraím; su división tenía veinte y cuatro mil. The eleventh, for the eleventh month, was Benaiah, a Pirathonite from the sons of Ephraim; and in his company there were twenty-four thousand.15El duodécimo, para el mes duodécimo, era Heldai netofatita, del linaje de Otniel; su división comprendía veinte y cuatro mil. The twelfth, for the twelfth month, was Heldai, a Netophathite from the stock of Othniel; and in his company there were twenty-four thousand.16Al frente de las tribus de Israel estaban: al frente de los Rubenitas: Eliéser, hijo de Sicrí; de los Simeonitas: Sefatías, hijo de Maacá; Now those who were first over the tribes of Israel were these: over the Reubenites, Eliezer, the son of Zichri, was the ruler; over the Simeonites, Shephatiah, the son of Maacah, was the ruler;17de Leví: Hasabías, hijo de Kemuel; de la casa de Aarón: Sadoc; over the Levites, Hashabiah, the son of Kemuel; over the Aaronites, Zadok;18de Judá: Eliab, uno de los hermanos de David; de Isacar: Amrí, hijo de Micael; over Judah, Elihu, the brother of David; over Issachar, Omri, the son of Michael;19de Zabulón: Ismaías, hijo de Obadías; de Neftalí: Jerimot, hijo de Asriel; over the Zebulunites, Ishmaiah, the son of Obadiah; over the Naphtalites, Jeremoth, the son of Azriel;20de los hijos de Efraím: Oseas, hijo de Azarías; de la media tribu de Manasés: Joel, hijo de Fedaías; over the sons of Ephraim, Hoshea, the son of Azaziah; over the one half tribe of Manasseh, Joel, the son of Pedaiah;21de la otra tribu de Manasés en Galaad: Iddó, hijo de Zacarías; de Benjamín: Jaasiel, hijo de Abner; and over the one half tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo, the son of Zechariah; then over Benjamin, Jaasiel, the son of Abner;22de Dan: Asarel, hijo de Jeroham. Estos eran los príncipes de las tribus de Israel. yet truly, Azarel, the son of Jeroham, was over Dan. These were the leaders of the sons of Israel.23David no hizo el censo de los de veinte años para abajo, porque Yahvé había dicho que multiplicaría a Israel como las estrellas del cielo. But David was not willing to number them from twenty years old and under. For the Lord had said that he would multiply Israel like the stars of heaven.24Joab, hijo de Sarvia, había comenzado a hacer el censo, pero no lo finalizó, pues estalló con ese motivo la ira (de Yahvé) contra Israel, y el resultado no fue puesto en el registro de los anales del rey David. Joab, the son of Zeruiah, had begun to number, but he did not finish. For because of this, wrath had fallen upon Israel. And therefore the number of those who had been counted was not related in the official records of king David.25Asmávet, hijo de Abdiel, tenía a su cargo los tesoros del rey. Sobre lo que este poseía en el campo, en las ciudades, en las aldeas y en las torres, estaba Jonatán, hijo de Ucías; Now over the storerooms of the king was Azmaveth, the son of Adiel. But Jonathan, the son of Uzziah, was over those storerooms that were in the cities, and in the villages, and in the towers.26sobre los labradores del campo que cultivaban las tierras, Esrí, hijo de Kelub; And over the farmlands and the farmers, those who worked the ground, was Ezri, the son of Chelub.27sobre las viñas, Simeí de Ramá; sobre las provisiones de vino para las bodegas del vino, Sabdí de Safam; And over the cultivators of vineyards was Shimei, a Ramathite; then over the wine cellars was Zabdi, an Aphonite.28sobre los olivares y los sicomorales que había en la Sefelá, Baalhanán de Géder; sobre los depósitos de aceite, Joás; Now over the olive groves and the fig groves, which were in the plains, was Baal-hanan, a Gederite; and over the oil cellars was Joash.29sobre las vacadas que pacían en Sarón, Sitrai saronita; sobre las vacadas en los valles. Safat, hijo de Adlai; Now over the herds that were pastured in Sharon, Shitrai, a Sharonite, was in the first place; and over the oxen in the valleys, there was Shaphat, the son of Adlai.30sobre los camellos, Obil ismaelita; sobre las asnas, Jedías meronotita; Truly, over the camels was Obil, an Ishmaelite; and over the donkeys was Jehdeiah, a Meronothite.31sobre las ovejas, Jasís agareno. Todos estos eran administradores de la hacienda del rey David. And over the sheep was Jaziz, a Hagarene. All these were leaders over the substance of king David.32Jonatán, tío de David, varón sensato y prudente, era consejero. Él y Jehiel, hijo de Hacmoní, estaban con los hijos del rey. Now Jonathan, the uncle of David, was a counselor, a prudent and scholarly man; he and Jehiel, the son of Hachmoni, were with the sons of the king.33Aquitófel era consejero del rey, y Cusai arquita amigo del rey. Now Ahithophel was the counselor of the king; and Hushai, the Archite, was the king’s friend.34Luego de Aquitófel figuraban Joiadá, hijo de Banaías, y Abiatar. Joab era el generalísimo del ejército del rey. After Ahithophel was Jehoiada, the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. But the leader of the army of the king was Joab.
