1David reunió en Jerusalén a todos los príncipes de Israel, los príncipes de las tribus, los jefes de las divisiones que servían al rey, los jefes de miles y los jefes de cientos, los administradores de la hacienda y del ganado del rey, y también a sus hijos, los eunucos, los oficiales y todos los hombres de valer. And so David called together all the leaders of Israel, the rulers of the tribes, and those in charge of the companies, who were ministering to the king, and also the tribunes and centurions, and those in charge of the substance and possessions of the king, and his sons, with the eunuchs and the powerful and those most experienced in the army, at Jerusalem.2Levantándose entonces en pie, dijo el rey David: “Oídme, hermanos míos, y pueblo mío: Yo tenía el propósito de edificar una casa de descanso para el Arca de la Alianza de Yahvé y para el escabel de los pies de nuestro Dios. Había ya preparado la construcción, And when the king had risen up and was standing, he said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I thought that I would build a house, in which the ark of the covenant of the Lord, the footstool of our God, might rest. And so I prepared everything for its building.3pero Dios me dijo: «Tú no edificarás la casa a mi Nombre, pues eres hombre de guerra y has derramado sangre.» But God said to me: ‘You shall not build a house to my name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood.’4Sin embargo, Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, me ha elegido de entre toda la casa de mi padre, para que fuese rey de Israel para siempre. Porque ha elegido a Judá para ser caudillo, y de las familias de Judá la casa de mi padre; y de entre los hijos de mi padre tuvo complacencia en mí para hacerme rey sobre todo Israel. Now the Lord God of Israel chose me, out of the entire house of my father, so that I would be king over Israel forever. For from Judah he chose leaders; then from the house of Judah he chose the house of my father; and from the sons of my father, it pleased him to choose me as king over all of Israel.5Y de en medio de todos mis hijos —pues muchos hijos me ha dado Yahvé— eligió Él a mi hijo Salomón para que se siente en el trono del reino de Yahvé sobre Israel. Then too, among my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons) he chose Solomon my son, so that he would sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord, over Israel.6Y me dijo: «Salomón, tu hijo, edificará mi Casa y mis atrios; porque a él le he escogido por hijo mío, y Yo seré padre suyo. And he said to me: ‘Solomon your son shall build my house and my courts. For I have chosen him to be to me as a son, and I will be to him as a father.7Haré estable su reino para siempre, si perseverare en el cumplimiento de mis mandamientos y de mis preceptos como lo hace actualmente.» And I will make firm his kingdom, even unto eternity, if he will persevere in doing my precepts and judgments, as also today.’8Ahora pues, en presencia de todo Israel, la congregación de Yahvé, y oyéndolo nuestro Dios (os digo): Guardad y estudiad todos los mandamientos de Yahvé, vuestro Dios, para que podáis poseer esta buena tierra, y la dejéis como heredad perpetua a vuestros hijos después de vosotros.” Now therefore, before the entire assembly of Israel, in the hearing of our God, keep and seek all the commandments of the Lord our God, so that you may possess the good land, and may bequeath it to your sons after you, even forever.9“Y tú, Salomón, hijo mío, conoce al Dios de tu padre, y sírvele con corazón recto y con buena voluntad, porque Yahvé escudriña todos los corazones y penetra todos los pensamientos del entendimiento. Si le buscares, le hallarás, pero si le dejares, Él te desechará para siempre. And as for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind. For the Lord searches all hearts, and understands the thoughts of all minds. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will cast you aside for eternity.10Mira ahora que Yahvé te ha escogido para edificar una casa que sea su Santuario. ¡Sé fuerte, y manos a la obra!” Now therefore, since the Lord has chosen you, so that you would build the house of the Sanctuary, be strengthened and accomplish it.”11Dio luego David a su hijo Salomón el diseño del pórtico y de los demás edificios, de las tesorerías, de las cámaras altas, de las cámaras interiores y del lugar del Propiciatorio; Then David gave to his son Solomon a description of the portico, and the temple, and the storerooms, and the upper floor, and the innermost rooms, and the house of propitiation,12y también el diseño de todo lo que tenía en su espíritu respecto de los atrios de la Casa de Yahvé y de todas las cámaras de alrededor, para los tesoros de la Casa de Dios y los de las cosas sagradas; and indeed also of all the courts that he had planned, and the outer rooms on all sides, for the treasuries of the house of the Lord, and for the treasuries of the holy things,13y lo (dispuesto) respecto de las clases de los sacerdotes y de los levitas y de todos los deberes del ministerio de la Casa de Yahvé, como también de todos los utensilios del ministerio de la Casa de Yahvé. and for the divisions of the priests and the Levites: concerning all the works of the house of the Lord and all the items in the ministry of the temple of the Lord.14Y (le dio) el oro, según el peso para cada uno de los utensilios de toda clase de servicio, y también la plata, según el peso que correspondía a todos los utensilios de toda clase de servicio; There was gold by weight for every vessel of the ministry, and also silver by weight for the diversity of vessels and equipment.15asimismo el peso correspondiente a los candelabros de oro y sus lámparas de oro, según el peso de cada candelabro y sus lámparas, y (el peso) para los candelabros de plata, según el peso de cada candelabro y sus lámparas, conforme al destino de cada candelabro. Then too, he distributed gold for the lampstands and their lamps, according to the measure of each of the lampstands with their lamps. Similarly also, he distributed silver by weight for the silver lampstands with their lamps, according to the diversity of their measure.16También el peso de oro para las mesas de la proposición, para cada mesa, y la plata para las mesas de plata; Also, he gave gold for the tables of the presence, according to the diversity of the tables; similarly too, he gave silver for the other tables of silver.17y oro puro para los tenedores, las fuentes y las copas; y asimismo lo correspondiente para las tazas de oro, según el peso de cada taza, y para las tazas de plata, según el peso de cada taza, Also, he distributed from the purest gold for the small hooks and the bowls and the censors, as well as for the little lions of gold, in accord with the precise measure of the weight, for lion after lion. Similarly too, for the lions of silver, he set aside a different weight of silver.18y para el altar del incienso oro acrisolado según el peso, asimismo oro para la figura de la carroza (de Dios), los querubines, que extienden (las alas) y cubren el Arca de la Alianza de Yahvé. Then, for the altar on which the incense was burned, he gave the purest gold. And from the same he made the likeness of the chariot of the Cherubim, with extended wings, which is veiling the ark of the covenant of the Lord.19“Todo esto (dijo David), me mostró Yahvé en un escrito (que me llegó) de su mano: el modelo de toda la obra.” “All these things,” he said, “came to me written by the hand of the Lord, so that I would understand all the works of the pattern.”20Dijo David a Salomón su hijo: “¡Sé fuerte y ten buen ánimo; y manos a la obra! No temas, ni te amedrentes, porque Yahvé Dios, el Dios mío, está contigo; no te dejará, ni te desamparará, hasta la terminación de toda la obra para el servicio de la Casa de Yahvé. David also said to his son Solomon: “Act manfully, and be strengthened, and carry it out. You should not be afraid, and you should not be dismayed. For the Lord my God will be with you, and he will not send you away, nor will he abandon you, until you have perfected the entire work of the ministry of the house of the Lord.21Y he aquí que tienes las clases de los sacerdotes y de los levitas para todo el servicio de la Casa de Dios, y estarán a tu lado para toda clase de obras todos los hombres de buena voluntad y habilidad en cualquier clase de servicio, y los príncipes y el pueblo entero en todas tus empresas.” Behold, the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for every ministry of the house of the Lord, are standing before you. And they have been prepared, and so they know, both the leaders and the people, how to carry out all your precepts.”
