1Dijo el rey David a toda la asamblea: “Mi hijo Salomón a quien solo ha escogido Dios, es todavía joven y tierno, y la obra es grande; pues este alcázar no es para hombre, sino para Yahvé Dios. And king David spoke to the entire assembly: “My son Solomon, the one God has chosen, is still a tender boy. And yet the work is great, for a habitation is being prepared, not for man, but for God.2Con todas mis fuerzas he preparado para la Casa de mi Dios el oro para los objetos de oro, la plata para los de plata, el bronce para los de bronce, el hierro para los de hierro y la madera para los de madera; también piedras de ónice y (piedras) de engaste; piedras brillantes y de varios colores, toda suerte de piedras preciosas y piedras de mármol en abundancia. Now with all my ability, I have prepared the expenses for the house of my God: gold for items of gold, and silver for those of silver, brass for those of brass, iron for those of iron, and wood for those of wood, and stones of onyx, and stones like alabaster, and stones of diverse colors, and every kind of precious stone, and marble from Paros in great abundance.3Fuera de esto, en mi amor a la Casa de mi Dios, doy a la Casa de mi Dios el oro y la plata que poseo, además de todo lo que tengo preparado para la Casa del Santuario: And in addition to these things that I have offered into the house of my God, I give, from my own belongings, gold and silver for the temple of my God, aside from those things that I have prepared for the holy shrine:4tres mil talentos de oro, del oro de Ofir, y siete mil talentos de plata acrisolada para revestir las paredes de los edificios; three thousand talents of gold, from the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of highly-refined silver, for the gilding of the walls of the temple;5el oro para los objetos de oro, la plata para los de plata, y para todas las obras hechas por mano de los artífices, ¿Quién, pues, quiere ahora hacer una ofrenda espontánea a Yahvé?” and gold for wherever there is need of gold, and silver for wherever there is need of silver, for the works to be done by the hands of the artisans. And if anyone freely offers, let him fill his hand this day, and let him offer whatever he wishes to the Lord.”6Entonces los jefes de las casas paternas, los príncipes de las tribus de Israel, los jefes de miles y de cientos, y los administradores de la hacienda del rey ofrecieron espontáneamente sus ofrendas, And so the leaders of the families, and the nobles of the tribes of Israel, as well as the tribunes and the centurions and the overseers of the king’s possessions, promised7y dieron para la obra de la Casa de Dios, cinco mil talentos de oro, diez mil dáricos, diez mil talentos de plata, diez y ocho mil talentos de bronce y cien mil talentos de hierro. and gave, for the works of the house of the Lord, five thousand talents and ten thousand pieces of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, and eighteen thousand talents of brass, and also one hundred thousand talents of iron.8Los que tenían piedras preciosas, las entregaron para el tesoro de la Casa de Yahvé, en mano de Jehiel gersonita. And whoever found precious stones among their belongings gave them to the treasuries of the house of the Lord, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.9Y se regocijó el pueblo por haberlo hecho voluntariamente; porque de todo su corazón habían ofrecido espontáneamente sus dádivas a Yahvé. También el rey David tuvo un gran gozo. And the people rejoiced, since they were promising their votive offerings willingly. For they were offering these to the Lord with all their heart. And king David also rejoiced with great gladness.10Después bendijo David a Yahvé en presencia de toda la asamblea; y dijo David: “¡Bendito Tú, oh Yahvé, Dios de nuestro padre Israel, desde la eternidad hasta la eternidad! And he blessed the Lord before the entire multitude, and he said: “Blessed are you, O Lord God of Israel, our Father from eternity to eternity.11Tuya, oh Yahvé, es la grandeza, el poder, la magnificencia, el esplendor y la majestad; pues tuyo es cuánto hay en el cielo y en la tierra. Tuyo, oh Yahvé, es el reino; Tú te eriges en cabeza de todo. Yours, O Lord, is magnificence and power and glory, and also victory; and to you is praise. For all the things that are in heaven and on earth are yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are above all rulers.12De Ti proceden la riqueza y la gloria; Tú lo gobiernas todo; en tu mano están el poder y la fortaleza, y en tu mano el dar grandeza y poder a todos. Yours is wealth, and yours is glory. You have dominion over all things. In your hand is virtue and power. In your hand is greatness and authority over all things.13Ahora, pues, oh Dios nuestro, te alabamos y celebramos tu Nombre glorioso. Now therefore, we confess to you, our God, and we praise your famous name.14Pues ¿quién soy yo, y quién es mi pueblo, para que seamos capaces de ofrecerte tales donativos? Porque todo viene de Ti, y te damos lo (que hemos recibido) de tus manos. Who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to promise all these things to you? All is yours. And so the things that we received from your hand, we have given to you.15Porque extranjeros y advenedizos somos delante de Ti, como todos nuestros padres; como sombra son nuestros días sobre la tierra, y no hay espera. For we are sojourners and new arrivals before you, as all our fathers were. Our days upon the earth are like a shadow, and there is no delay.16Yahvé, Dios nuestro, todo este grande acopio que hemos acumulado, a fin de edificarte una Casa para tu santo Nombre, viene de tu mano, y es todo tuyo. O Lord our God, all this abundance, which we have prepared so that a house may be built to your holy name, is from your hand, and all things are yours.17Bien sé, Dios mío, que Tú pruebas los corazones y amas la rectitud; por eso te he ofrecido voluntariamente todo esto con sincero corazón, y ahora veo con regocijo a tu pueblo, a los que se hallan aquí, cómo te ofrecen espontáneamente sus dones. I know, my God, that you test hearts, and that you love simplicity. Therefore, in the simplicity of my heart, I also have offered all these things joyfully. And I have seen, with immense gladness, your people, who have been found here, offering their donations to you.18Oh, Yahvé, Dios de nuestros padres, de Abrahán, de Isaac y de Israel, conserva esto perpetuamente para formar los pensamientos del corazón de tu pueblo, y dirige Tú su corazón hacia Ti. O Lord, the God of our fathers Abraham and Isaac and Israel, preserve unto eternity this desire of their heart, and let this purpose remain forever, for the worship of you.19Da a mi hijo Salomón un corazón perfecto, para que guarde tus mandamientos, tus testimonios y tus preceptos, a fin de que todo lo ponga por obra y edifique el palacio, para el cual yo he hecho los preparativos.”{} Also, I give to my son Solomon a perfect heart, so that he may keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your ceremonies, and so that he may accomplish all things, and may build the temple, for which I have prepared the expenses.”20Después dijo David a toda la asamblea: “¡Bendecid a Yahvé vuestro Dios!” Y toda la asamblea bendijo a Yahvé, el Dios de sus padres, e inclinaron la cabeza y se postraron ante Yahvé y ante el rey. Then David instructed the entire assembly: “Bless the Lord our God.” And the entire assembly blessed the Lord, the God of their fathers. And they bowed themselves, and they adored God, and next they reverenced the king.21Al día siguiente inmolaron a Yahvé víctimas y le ofrecieron holocaustos: mil becerros, mil carneros y mil corderos, con sus correspondientes libaciones y muchos sacrificios por todo Israel. And they immolated victims to the Lord. And they offered holocausts on the following day: one thousand bulls, one thousand rams, one thousand lambs, with their libations and with every ritual, very abundantly, for all of Israel.22En aquel día comieron y bebieron ante Yahvé con gran gozo, y por segunda vez proclamaron rey a Salomón, hijo de David, y le ungieron por rey delante de Yahvé, y a Sadoc por sacerdote. And they ate and drank before the Lord on that day, with great rejoicing. And they anointed Solomon, the son of David, a second time. And they anointed him to the Lord as the ruler, and Zadok as the high priest.23Entonces se sentó Salomón como rey sobre el trono de Yahvé, en lugar de su padre David, y prosperó y le obedeció todo Israel. And Solomon sat upon the throne of the Lord as king, in place of his father David, and it pleased everyone. And all of Israel obeyed him.24Todos los jefes y grandes, y también todos los hijos del rey David, prestaron obediencia al rey Salomón. Moreover, all the leaders, and the powerful, and all the sons of king David pledged with their hand, and they became subject to king Solomon.25Y Yahvé le engrandeció en extremo a los ojos de todo Israel, y le confirió tanta gloria real cual nunca había tenido ningún rey de Israel antes de él. Then the Lord magnified Solomon over all of Israel. And he gave to him a glorious reign, of a kind such as no one has had before him, as king of Israel.26David, el hijo de Isaí, reinó sobre todo Israel. Now David, the son of Jesse, reigned over all of Israel.27Fueron los días que reinó sobre Israel cuarenta años. En Hebrón reinó siete años, y en Jerusalén reinó treinta y tres. And the days during which he reigned over Israel were forty years. He reigned seven years in Hebron, and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.28Murió en buena vejez, harto de días, riqueza y gloria; y en su lugar reinó su hijo Salomón. And he died at a good old age, full of days and wealth and glory.
