1Yo, hermanos, cuando fui a vosotros, no llegué anunciándoos el testimonio de Dios con superioridad de palabra o de sabiduría, And so, brothers, when I came to you, announcing to you the testimony of Christ, I did not bring exalted words or lofty wisdom.2porque me propuse no saber entre vosotros otra cosa sino a Jesucristo, y Este crucificado. For I did not judge myself to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and him crucified.3Y, efectivamente, llegué a vosotros con debilidad, con temor, y con mucho temblor. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and with much trembling.4Y mi lenguaje y mi predicación no consistieron en discursos persuasivos de sabiduría (humana), sino en manifestación de Espíritu y de poder; And my words and preaching were not the persuasive words of human wisdom, but were a manifestation of the Spirit and of virtue,5para que vuestra fe no se funde en sabiduría de hombres, sino en una fuerza divina. so that your faith would not be based on the wisdom of men, but on the virtue of God.6Predicamos, sí, sabiduría entre los perfectos; pero no sabiduría de este siglo, ni de los príncipes de este siglo, los cuales caducan, Now, we do speak wisdom among the perfect, yet truly, this is not the wisdom of this age, nor that of the leaders of this age, which shall be reduced to nothing.7sino que predicamos sabiduría de Dios en misterio, aquella que estaba escondida y que predestinó Dios antes de los siglos para gloria nuestra; Instead, we speak of the wisdom of God in a mystery which has been hidden, which God predestined before this age for our glory,8aquella que ninguno de los príncipes de este siglo ha conocido, pues si la hubiesen conocido no habrían crucificado al Señor de la gloria. something that none of the leaders of this world have known. For if they had known it, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory.9Pero, según está escrito: “Lo que ojo no vio, ni oído oyó, ni entró en pensamiento humano, esto tiene Dios preparado para los que le aman”. But this is just as it has been written: “The eye has not seen, and the ear has not heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man, what things God has prepared for those who love him.”10Mas a nosotros nos lo reveló Dios por medio del Espíritu, pues el Espíritu escudriña todas las cosas, aun las profundidades de Dios. But God has revealed these things to us through his Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.11¿Quién de entre los hombres conoce lo que hay en un hombre sino el espíritu de ese hombre que está en él? Así también las cosas de Dios nadie llegó a conocerlas sino el Espíritu de Dios. And who can know the things that are of a man, except the spirit which is within that man? So also, no one knows the things which are of God, except the Spirit of God.12Y nosotros no hemos recibido el espíritu del mundo, sino el Espíritu que es de Dios; para que apreciemos las cosas que Dios nos ha dado gratuitamente. But we have not received the spirit of this world, but the Spirit who is of God, so that we may understand the things that have been given to us by God.13Estas las predicamos, no con palabras enseñadas por la sabiduría humana, sino con las aprendidas del Espíritu Santo, interpretando las (enseñanzas ) espirituales para (hombres) espirituales, And we are also speaking of these things, not in the learned words of human wisdom, but in the doctrine of the Spirit, bringing spiritual things together with spiritual things.14porque el hombre natural no acepta las cosas del Espíritu de Dios, como que para él son una insensatez; ni las puede entender, por cuanto hay que juzgar de ellas espiritualmente. But the animal nature of man does not perceive these things that are of the Spirit of God. For it is foolishness to him, and he is not able to understand it, because it must be examined spiritually.15El (hombre) espiritual, al contrario, lo juzga todo, en tanto que él mismo de nadie es juzgado. But the spiritual nature of man judges all things, and he himself may be judged by no man.16Pues “¿quién ha conocido jamás el pensamiento del Señor para darle instrucciones?” Nosotros, en cambio, tenemos el sentido de Cristo. For who has known the mind of the Lord, so that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
