1 Corintios 7
1En cuanto a las cosas que escribisteis, bueno es al hombre no tocar mujer. Now concerning the things about which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.2Mas para evitar la fornicación, tenga cada uno su mujer, y cada una su marido. But, because of fornication, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.3El marido pague a la mujer el débito, y así mismo la mujer al marido. A husband should fulfill his obligation to his wife, and a wife should also act similarly toward her husband.4La mujer no tiene potestad sobre su cuerpo, sino el marido; e igualmente, el marido no tiene potestad sobre su cuerpo, sino la mujer. It is not the wife, but the husband, who has power over her body. But, similarly also, it is not the husband, but the wife, who has power over his body.5No os privéis recíprocamente, a no ser de común acuerdo por algún tiempo, para entregaros a la oración; y después volved a cohabitar, no sea que os tiente Satanás por medio de vuestra incontinencia. So, do not fail in your obligations to one another, except perhaps by consent, for a limited time, so that you may empty yourselves for prayer. And then, return together again, lest Satan tempt you by means of your abstinence.6Esto lo digo por condescendencia, no como precepto. But I am saying this, neither as an indulgence, nor as a commandment.7Quisiera que todos los hombres fuesen así como yo, mas cada uno tiene de Dios su propio don, quien de una manera, y quien de otra. For I would prefer it if you were all like myself. But each person has his proper gift from God: one in this way, yet another in that way.8Digo, empero, a los que no están casados y a las viudas: bueno les es si permanecen así como yo. But I say to the unmarried and to widows: It is good for them, if they would remain as they are, just as I also am.9Mas si no guardan continencia, cásense; pues mejor es casarse que abrasarse. But if they cannot restrain themselves, they should marry. For it is better to marry, than to be burned.10A los casados ordeno, no yo, sino el Señor, que la mujer no se separe de su marido; But to those who have been joined in matrimony, it is not I who commands you, but the Lord: a wife is not to separate from her husband.11y que aun cuando se separare, permanezca sin casarse, o se reconcilie con su marido; y que el marido no despida a su mujer. But if she has separated from him, she must remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband should not divorce his wife.12A los demás digo yo, no el Señor; si algún hermano tiene mujer infiel, y esta consiente en habitar con él, no la despida. Concerning the rest, I am speaking, not the Lord. If any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she consents to live with him, he should not divorce her.13Y la mujer que tiene marido infiel, y este consiente en habitar con ella, no abandone ella a su marido. And if any woman has an unbelieving husband, and he consents to live with her, she should not divorce her husband.14Porque el marido infiel es santificado por la mujer, y la mujer infiel es santificada por el hermano; de lo contrario vuestros hijos serían inmundos, mientras que ahora son santos. For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through the believing wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through the believing husband. Otherwise, your children would be unclean, whereas instead they are holy.15Mas si la parte infiel se separa, sepárese; en tal caso no está sujeto a servidumbre el hermano o la hermana; pues Dios nos ha llamado a la paz. But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart. For a brother or sister cannot be made subject to servitude in this way. For God has called us to peace.16Porque (de lo contrario) ¿sabes tú, mujer, si salvarías a tu marido? ¿O sabes tú, marido, si salvarías a tu mujer? And how do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?17Cada cual, según el Señor le ha dado, y según Dios le ha llamado, así ande. Esto es lo que establezco en todas las Iglesias. However, let each one walk just as the Lord has distributed to him, each one just as God has called him. And thus do I teach in all the churches.18¿Ha sido llamado alguno siendo circunciso? No se haga incircunciso. ¿Fue uno llamado incircunciso? No se circuncide. Has any circumcised man been called? Let him not cover his circumcision. Has any uncircumcised man been called? Let him not be circumcised.19Nada es la circuncisión, y nada la incircuncisión; sino el guardar los mandamientos de Dios. Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing; there is only the observance of the commandments of God.20Cada cual persevere en el estado en que fue llamado. Let each and every one remain in the same calling to which he was called.21¿Fuiste llamado siendo esclavo? No te dé cuidado; antes bien, saca provecho de eso, aun cuando pudieses hacerte libre. Are you a servant who has been called? Do not be concerned about it. But if you ever have the ability to be free, make use of it.22Porque el que fue llamado en el Señor, siendo esclavo, liberto es del Señor; así también el que fue llamado siendo libre, esclavo es de Cristo. For any servant who has been called in the Lord is free in the Lord. Similarly, any free person who has been called is a servant in Christ.23Comprados habéis sido por un precio (grande); no os hagáis esclavos de los hombres. You have been bought with a price. Do not be willing to become the servants of men.24Hermanos, cada uno permanezca ante Dios en la condición en que fue llamado. Brothers, let each one, in whatever state he was called, remain in that state with God.25Respecto de las vírgenes, no tengo precepto del Señor; pero doy mi parecer, como quien ha alcanzado la misericordia del Señor para ser fiel. Now, concerning virgins, I have no commandment from the Lord. But I give counsel, as one who has obtained the mercy of the Lord, so as to be faithful.26Juzgo, pues, que en vista de la inminente tribulación, es bueno para el hombre quedar como está. Therefore, I consider this to be good, because of the present necessity: that it is good for a man to be such as I am.27¿Estás atado a mujer? No busques desatarte. ¿Estás desatado de mujer? No busques mujer. Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be freed. Are you free of a wife? Do not seek a wife.28Si te casares, no pecas; y si la doncella se casare no peca. Pero estos tales sufrirán en su carne tribulaciones, que yo quiero ahorraros. But if you take a wife, you have not sinned. And if a virgin has married, she has not sinned. Even so, such as these will have the tribulation of the flesh. But I would spare you from this.29Lo que quiero decir, hermanos, es esto: el tiempo es limitado; resta, pues, que los que tienen mujeres vivan como si no las tuviesen; And so, this is what I say, brothers: The time is short. What remains of it is such that: those who have wives should be as if they had none;30y los que lloran, como si no llorasen; y los que se regocijan, como si no se regocijasen; y los que compran, como si no poseyesen; and those who weep, as though they were not weeping; and those who rejoice, as if they were not rejoicing; and those who buy, as if they possessed nothing;31y los que usan del mundo, como si no usasen, porque la apariencia de este mundo pasa. and those who use the things of this world, as if they were not using them. For the figure of this world is passing away.32Mi deseo es que viváis sin preocupaciones. El que no es casado anda solícito en las cosas del Señor, por cómo agradar al Señor; But I would prefer you to be without worry. Whoever is without a wife is worried about the things of the Lord, as to how he may please God.33mas el que es casado, anda solícito en las cosas del mundo (buscando), cómo agradar a su mujer, y está dividido. But whoever is with a wife is worried about the things of the world, as to how he may please his wife. And so, he is divided.34La mujer sin marido y la doncella piensan en las cosas del Señor, para ser santas en cuerpo y espíritu; mas la casada piensa en las cosas del mundo (buscando), cómo agradar a su marido. And the unmarried woman and the virgin think about the things that are of the Lord, so that she may be holy in body and in spirit. But she who is married thinks about the things that are of the world, as to how she may please her husband.35Esto lo digo para vuestro provecho; no para tenderos un lazo, sino en orden a lo que más conviene y os une mejor al Señor, sin distracción. Furthermore, I am saying this for your own benefit, not in order to cast a snare over you, but toward whatever is honest and whatever may provide you with the ability to be without hindrance, so as to worship the Lord.36Pero si alguno teme deshonor por causa de su (hija) doncella, si pasa la flor de la edad y si es preciso obrar así, haga lo que quiera; no peca. Que se casen. But if any man considers himself to seem dishonorable, concerning a virgin who is of adult age, and so it ought to be, he may do as he wills. If he marries her, he does not sin.37Mas el que se mantiene firme en su corazón y no se ve forzado, sino que es dueño de su voluntad y en su corazón ha determinado guardar a su doncella, hará bien. But if he has decided firmly in his heart, and he does not have any obligation, but only the power of his free will, and if he has judged this in his heart, to let her remain a virgin, he does well.38Quien, pues, case a su doncella, hará bien; mas el que no la casa, hará mejor. And so, he who joins with his virgin in matrimony does well, and he who does not join with her does better.39La mujer está ligada todo el tiempo que viva su marido; mas si muriere el marido, queda libre para casarse con quien quiera; solo que sea en el Señor. A woman is bound under the law for as long as her husband lives. But if her husband has died, she is free. She may marry whomever she wishes, but only in the Lord.40Sin embargo, será más feliz si permaneciere así, según el parecer mío, y creo tener también yo espíritu de Dios. But she will be more blessed, if she remains in this state, in accord with my counsel. And I think that I, too, have the Spirit of God.
