1Ezequías envió (mensajeros) a todo Israel y Judá, y escribió cartas a Efraím y Manasés, para que viniesen a la Casa de Yahvé, a Jerusalén, a fin de celebrar la Pascua en honor de Yahvé, el Dios de Israel. Also, Hezekiah sent to all of Israel and Judah. And he wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, so that they would come to the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, and so that they would keep the Passover to the Lord, the God of Israel.2Pues el rey y los príncipes y toda la asamblea de Jerusalén habían determinado celebrar la Pascua en el mes segundo; Therefore, having taken counsel, the king and the rulers, and the entire assembly of Jerusalem, resolved that they would keep the Passover, in the second month.3puesto que no había sido posible celebrarla a su debido tiempo, porque los sacerdotes no se habían santificado en número suficiente, y el pueblo no se había reunido en Jerusalén. For they had not been able to keep it at its proper time. For the priests, who were unable to suffice, had not been sanctified. And the people had not yet been gathered together in Jerusalem.4Agradó esta resolución al rey y a toda la asamblea. And the word was pleasing to the king, and to the entire multitude.5Resolvieron, pues, enviar aviso a todo Israel, desde Bersabee basta Dan, para que viniesen a Jerusalén a celebrar la Pascua en honor de Yahvé, el Dios de Israel; porque hacía mucho tiempo que no la habían celebrado al modo prescrito. And they resolved that they would send messengers to all of Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, so that they might come and keep the Passover to the Lord, the God of Israel, at Jerusalem. For many had not kept it, just as it was prescribed by the law.6Tras lo cual los correos con las cartas del rey y de sus príncipes recorrieron todo Israel y Judá, como el rey lo había mandado; y decían: “Hijos de Israel, volveos a Yahvé, el Dios de Abrahán, de Isaac y de Israel, y Él se volverá a los que de vosotros han quedado, a los que han escapado de la mano de los reyes de Asiria. And carriers traveled with the letters, by order of the king and his rulers, to all of Israel and Judah, proclaiming, in accord with what the king had ordered: “O sons of Israel, return to the Lord, the God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Israel. And he will return to the remnant who escaped from the hand of the king of the Assyrians.7No seáis como vuestros padres y como vuestros hermanos, que prevaricaron contra Yahvé, el Dios de sus padres; por lo cual Él los entregó a la desolación, como estáis viendo. Do not choose to be like your fathers and brothers, who withdrew from the Lord, the God of their fathers. And so he delivered them over to destruction, as you yourselves discern.8Ahora, no endurezcáis vuestra cerviz como vuestros padres; dad la mano a Yahvé; venid a su Santuario, que Él ha santificado para siempre; servid a Yahvé vuestro Dios, y se apartará de vosotros el furor de su ira. Do not choose to harden your necks, as your fathers did. Surrender to the hands of the Lord. And go to his Sanctuary, which he has sanctified unto eternity. Serve the Lord, the God of your fathers, and the fury of his wrath will be turned away from you.9Porque si os volvéis a Yahvé, vuestros hermanos y vuestros hijos hallarán misericordia ante aquellos que los llevaron cautivos, y volverán a este país, pues Yahvé, vuestro Dios, es clemente y misericordioso y no apartara de vosotros su rostro, si vosotros os convertís a Él.” For if you will return to the Lord, your brothers and sons will find mercy before their masters, who led them away as captives, and they will be returned to this land. For the Lord your God is compassionate and lenient, and he will not avert his face from you, if you will return to him.”10Recorrieron los correos una ciudad tras otra en el país de Efraím y de Manasés, llegando hasta Zabulón; pero se reían y se burlaban de ellos. And so, the carriers were traveling quickly from city to city, throughout the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, as far as Zebulun, though they were ridiculing and mocking them.11Sin embargo, algunos de Aser, de Manasés y de Zabulón se humillaron y vinieron a Jerusalén. Even so, certain men from Asher, and from Manasseh, and from Zebulun, acquiescing to this counsel, went to Jerusalem.12También en Judá se dejó sentir la mano de Dios, que les dio un solo corazón, para cumplir el mandato del rey y de los príncipes, según la palabra de Yahvé. Truly, the hand of God was working in Judah, to give them one heart, so that they would accomplish the word of the Lord, according to the precept of the king and of the rulers.13Se reunió en Jerusalén mucha gente para celebrar la fiesta de los Ácimos, en el mes segundo; era una asamblea muy grande. And many people gathered together in Jerusalem, so that they could keep the solemnity of unleavened bread, in the second month.14Y se levantaron y quitaron los altares que había en Jerusalén; quitaron también todos los altares de incienso y los arrojaron en el torrente Cedrón. And rising up, they destroyed the altars which were in Jerusalem, and all the things in which incense was burned to idols. Overturning these things, they cast them into the torrent Kidron.15Sacrificaron la pascua, a los catorce días del mes segundo. También los sacerdotes y los levitas, avergonzándose, se santificaron y trajeron holocaustos a la Casa de Yahvé. Then they immolated the Passover on the fourteenth day of the second month. Also, the priests and Levites, at length having been sanctified, offered the holocausts in the house of the Lord.16Ocuparon sus puestos según su reglamento, conforme a la Ley de Moisés, varón de Dios; y los sacerdotes derramaban la sangre que recibían de mano de los levitas. And they stood in their order, according to the disposition and law of Moses, the man of God. Yet truly, the priests took up the blood, which was to be poured out, from the hands of the Levites,17Y como muchos de la asamblea no se habían santificado, los levitas fueron encargados de inmolar los corderos pascuales para todos los que no se hallaban puros, a fin de santificarlos para Yahvé. because a great number were not sanctified. And therefore, the Levites immolated the Passover for those who had not been sanctified to the Lord in time.18Pues una gran multitud de gentes, muchos de Efraím y de Manasés, de Isacar y de Zabulón, que no se habían purificado, comieron la pascua, sin observar lo prescrito. Mas Ezequías oró por ellos, diciendo: “¡Quiera Yahvé en su bondad perdonar a todos aquellos And now a great portion of the people from Ephraim, and Manasseh, and Issachar, and Zebulun, who had not been sanctified, ate the Passover, which is not in accord with what was written. And Hezekiah prayed for them, saying: “The good Lord will be forgiving19cuyo corazón busca al Dios Yahvé, el Dios de sus padres, aunque no se hayan purificado según el (rito del) Santuario!” to all who, with their whole heart, seek the Lord, the God of their fathers. And he will not impute it to them, though they have not been sanctified.”20Y oyó Yahvé a Ezequías, y sanó al pueblo. And the Lord heeded him, and was reconciled to the people.21Así los hijos de Israel que estaban en Jerusalén celebraron la fiesta de los Ácimos por siete días con gran alegría; y los levitas y los sacerdotes alabaron a Yahvé todos los días, tocando con toda fuerza los instrumentos en honor de Yahvé. And the sons of Israel who were found at Jerusalem kept the solemnity of unleavened bread for seven days with great rejoicing, praising the Lord throughout each day, with the Levites and the priests, accompanied by the musical instruments corresponding to their office.22Ezequías habló al corazón de todos los levitas que manifestaban un buen conocimiento de Yahvé. Comieron durante los siete días (las víctimas) de la fiesta, sacrificando sacrificios pacíficos, y alabando a Yahvé, el Dios de sus padres. And Hezekiah spoke to the heart of all the Levites, who had a good understanding concerning the Lord. And they ate during the seven days of the solemnity, immolating victims of peace offerings, and praising the Lord, the God of their fathers.23Toda la asamblea resolvió celebrar la fiesta por otros siete días, y la celebraron con júbilo por siete días más. And it pleased the entire multitude that they should celebrate, even for another seven days. And they did this with enormous gladness.24Porque Ezequías, rey de Judá, había regalado a toda la asamblea mil becerros y siete mil ovejas. For Hezekiah, the king of Judah, had offered to the multitude one thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep. Truly, the rulers had given the people one thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep. Then a great multitude of priests was sanctified.25Toda la asamblea de Judá, los sacerdotes y los levitas, y también toda la multitud que había venido de Israel, y los extranjeros venidos de la tierra de Israel y los que habitaban en Judá, se entregaron a la alegría. And the whole multitude of Judah, as much the priests and Levites as the entire crowd that had arrived from Israel, and also the converts from the land of Israel, and those with a habitation in Judah, was overflowing with cheerfulness.26Hubo gran gozo en Jerusalén; porque desde los días de Salomón, hijo de David, rey de Israel, no había habido (fiesta) semejante en Jerusalén. And there was a great celebration in Jerusalem, to such an extent as had not been in that city since the days of Solomon, the son of David, the king of Israel.27Al fin se levantaron los sacerdotes, hijos de Leví, y bendijeron al pueblo; y fue oída su voz, pues su oración penetró en el cielo, Su santa morada. Then the priests and Levites rose up and blessed the people. And their voice was heeded. And their prayer reached the holy habitation of heaven.
