1Terminado todo esto, salió Israel entero, todos los que allí se hallaban, a recorrer las ciudades de Judá; y quebraron las piedras de culto, cortaron las ascheras y derribaron los lugares altos y los altares en todo Judá y Benjamín, y también en Efraím y Manasés, hasta acabar con ellos. Después volvieron todos los hijos de Israel cada cual a su posesión en sus ciudades. And when these things had been celebrated according to ritual, all of Israel who had been found in the cities of Judah went forth, and they broke apart the idols and cut down the sacred groves. They demolished the high places and destroyed the altars, not only out of all Judah and Benjamin, but also out of Ephraim as well as Manasseh, until they utterly destroyed them. And all the sons of Israel returned to their possessions and cities.2Ezequías restableció las clases de los sacerdotes y de los levitas según sus divisiones, (designando) a cada uno de los sacerdotes y de los levitas, su función en los holocaustos y sacrificios pacíficos, y en lo tocante al ministerio, las alabanzas y cantos dentro de las puertas del Campamento de Yahvé. Then Hezekiah appointed the companies of the priests and Levites by their divisions, each man in his proper office, certainly as much for the priests as for the Levites, for the sake of holocausts and peace offerings, so that they might minister and confess and sing, at the gates of the camp of the Lord.3Una porción de la propiedad del rey estaba (destinada) para los holocaustos de la mañana y de la tarde; y para los holocaustos de los sábados, de los novilunios y de las fiestas según lo prescrito en la Ley de Yahvé. Now the portion of the king, from his own substance, was such that they could offer a holocaust always, in morning and in evening, also on the Sabbaths, and the new moons, and the other solemnities, just as it was written in the law of Moses.4Mandó también al pueblo que habitaba en Jerusalén, que diesen a los sacerdotes y a los levitas las porciones correspondientes, a fin de que pudiesen dedicarse exclusivamente a la Ley de Yahvé. And now he instructed the people living in Jerusalem that they were to give portions to the priests and Levites, so that they would be able to attend to the law of the Lord.5Cuando se promulgó esta disposición, los hijos de Israel, trajeron en abundancia las primicias del trigo, del vino, del aceite y de la miel y de todos los productos del campo; trajeron también en abundancia el diezmo de todo. And when this had reached the ears of the multitude, the sons of Israel brought an abundance of first-fruits of grain, wine, and oil, and also honey. And they offered a tenth part of all that the soil brings forth.6Los hijos de Israel y de Judá, que habitaban en las ciudades de Judá, presentaron igualmente el diezmo del ganado mayor y menor, y el diezmo de las cosas santas que eran consagradas a Yahvé su Dios, e hicieron de ello grandes montones. Then too, the sons of Israel and Judah, who were living in the cities of Judah, brought tithes of oxen and sheep, and tithes of the holy things that they had vowed to the Lord their God. And carrying all these things, they made many stacks.7En el mes tercero comenzaron a formar aquellos montones y terminaron en el mes séptimo. In the third month, they began to lay out the foundations of the stacks. And in the seventh month, they finished them.8Vinieron Ezequías y los príncipes a ver los montones y bendijeron a Yahvé y a Israel, su pueblo. And when Hezekiah and his rulers had entered, they saw the stacks, and they blessed the Lord and the people of Israel.9Cuando Ezequías preguntó a los sacerdotes y a los levitas acerca de los montones, And Hezekiah questioned the priests and Levites, as to why the stacks were laid out in this way.10respondió el Sumo Sacerdote Azarías, de la casa de Sadoc, y dijo: “Desde que se ha comenzado a traer las ofrendas a la Casa de Yahvé, hemos comido y nos hemos saciado, y aún sobra muchísimo; porque Yahvé ha bendecido a su pueblo; y esta gran cantidad es lo que sobra.” Azariah, the high priest from the stock of Zadok, answered him, saying: “Since the first-fruits began to be offered in the house of the Lord, we have eaten and been satisfied, and much remains. For the Lord has blessed his people. Then what was left over is this great abundance, which you see.”11Entonces mandó Ezequías que se hiciesen depósitos en la Casa de Yahvé. Los hicieron, And so Hezekiah instructed that they should prepare storage places for the house of the Lord. And when they had done so,12y metieron allí fielmente las ofrendas, los diezmos y las cosas consagradas. And after him, there was Jehiel, and Azariah, and Nahath, and Asaahel, and Jerimoth, and also Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, who were overseers under the hands of Conaniah, and his brother, Shimei, by the authority of Hezekiah, the king, and Azariah, the high priest of the house of God, to whom all these things belonged.14El levita Coré, hijo de Imná, portero de la puerta oriental, estaba encargado de las ofrendas voluntarias hechas a Dios, para repartir las porciones consagradas a Yahvé y las cosas santísimas. Yet truly, Kore, the son of Imnah, a Levite and the porter of the eastern gate, was the overseer of the things that were being offered freely to the Lord, and of the first-fruits, and of the things consecrated for the Holy of Holies.15En las ciudades sacerdotales estaban bajo sus órdenes Edén, Minyamín, Jesúa, Semeías, Amarías y Secanías, para repartir fielmente (las porciones) a sus hermanos, así grandes como chicos, And under his charge were Eden, and Benjamin, Jeshua, and Shemaiah, and also Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, so that they would distribute faithfully to their brothers, the small as well as the great, their portions16exceptuando a los varones de tres años para arriba inscritos en las genealogías, y a todos los que entraban en la Casa de Yahvé, como lo exigía cada día, para cumplir los oficios de su ministerio, según sus clases. (except for the males from three years old and upward) for all who were entering the temple of the Lord, and for whatever was needed for the ministry, throughout each day, as well as for the observances according to their divisions.17Los sacerdotes estaban inscritos en las genealogías, conforme a sus casas paternas, y los levitas de veinte años para arriba, según su ministerio y sus clases. And so, for the priests, by their families, and for the Levites, from the twentieth year and upward, by their orders and companies,18Estaban inscritos en las genealogías también todos sus niños, sus mujeres, sus hijos, y sus hijas, de entre toda la asamblea, porque se consagraban exclusivamente al servicio sagrado. and for the entire multitude, as much for the wives as for their children of both sexes, provisions were offered faithfully from whatever had been sanctified.19Para los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, que vivían en el campo, en los ejidos de sus ciudades, había en cada ciudad hombres designados nominalmente, para dar las porciones a todos los varones de entre los sacerdotes, y a todos los levitas inscritos en las genealogías. Then too, men were appointed of the sons of Aaron, throughout the fields and the suburbs of each city, who would distribute portions to all the males among the priests and Levites.20Así hizo Ezequías en todo Judá, y obró lo que era bueno y recto y verdadero ante Yahvé, su Dios. Therefore, Hezekiah did all these things (which we have said) in all of Judah. And he worked what is good and upright and true before the Lord his God,21En todo aquello que emprendió respecto del ministerio de la Casa de Dios, la Ley y los mandamientos, obró con todo su corazón y tuvo éxito. for the whole service of the ministry of the house of the Lord, in accord with the law and the ceremonies, desiring to seek his God with his whole heart. And he did so, and he prospered.
