2 Corintios 5
1Sabemos que si esta tienda de nuestra mansión terrestre se desmorona, tenemos de Dios un edificio, casa no hecha de manos, eterna en los cielos. For we know that, when our earthly house of this habitation is dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in heaven.2Y en verdad, mientras estamos en aquella, gemimos, porque anhelamos ser sobrevestidos de nuestra morada del cielo; And for this reason also, we groan, desiring to be clothed from above with our habitation from heaven.3pero con tal de ser hallados (todavía) vestidos, no desnudos. If we are so clothed, then we will not be found to be naked.4Porque los que estamos en esta tienda suspiramos preocupados, no queriendo desnudarnos, sino sobrevestirnos, en forma tal que lo mortal sea absorbido por la vida. Then too, we who are in this tabernacle groan under the burden, because we do not want to be stripped, but rather to be clothed from above, so that what is mortal may be absorbed by life.5Para esto mismo nos hizo Dios, dándonos las arras del Espíritu. Now the One who accomplishes this very thing in us is God, who has given us the pledge of the Spirit.6Por eso confiamos siempre, sabiendo que mientras habitamos en el cuerpo, vivimos ausentes del Señor — Therefore, we are ever confident, knowing that, while we are in the body, we are on a pilgrimage in the Lord.7puesto que solo por fe andamos y no por visión— For we walk by means of faith, and not by sight.8pero con esa seguridad nos agradaría más dejar de habitar en el cuerpo, y vivir con el Señor. So we are confident, and we have the good will to be on a pilgrimage in the body, so as to be present to the Lord.9Y por esto es que nos esforzamos por serle agradables, ya presentes, ya ausentes. And thus we struggle, whether absent or present, to please him.10Pues todos hemos de ser manifestados ante el tribunal de Cristo, a fin de que en el cuerpo reciba cada uno según lo bueno o lo malo que haya hecho. For it is necessary for us to be manifested before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive the proper things of the body, according to his behavior, whether it was good or evil.11Penetrados, pues, del temor del Señor, persuadimos a los hombres, pero ante Dios estamos patentes, y espero que también estamos patentes en vuestras conciencias. Therefore, having knowledge of the fear of the Lord, we appeal to men, but we are made manifest before God. Yet I hope, too, that we may be made manifest in your consciences.12No es que otra vez nos recomendemos a vosotros, sino que os estamos dando motivo para gloriaros de nosotros de modo que tengáis (cómo replicar) a quienes se glorían en lo exterior y no en el corazón. We are not commending ourselves again to you, but rather we are presenting you with an opportunity to glory because of us, when you deal with those who glory in face, and not in heart.13Porque si somos locos, es para con Dios; y si somos cuerdos, es por vosotros. For if we are excessive in mind, it is for God; but if we are sober, it is for you.14Porque el amor de Cristo nos apremia cuando pensamos que Él, único, sufrió la muerte por todos y que así (en Él) todos murieron. For the charity of Christ urges us on, in consideration of this: that if one died for all, then all have died.15Y si por todos murió, es para que los vivos no vivan ya para sí mismos, sino para Aquel que por ellos murió y resucitó. And Christ died for all, so that even those who live might not now live for themselves, but for him who died for them and who rose again.16De manera que desde ahora nosotros no conocemos a nadie según la carne; y aun a Cristo si lo hemos conocido según la carne, ahora ya no lo conocemos (así). And so, from now on, we know no one according to the flesh. And though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him in this way no longer.17Por tanto, si alguno vive en Cristo, es una creatura nueva. Lo viejo pasó: he aquí que se ha hecho nuevo. So if anyone is a new creature in Christ, what is old has passed away. Behold, all things have been made new.18Y todo esto es obra de Dios, quien nos reconcilió consigo por medio de Cristo, y nos ha confiado el ministerio de la reconciliación; But all is of God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation.19como que en Cristo estaba Dios, reconciliando consigo al mundo, no imputándoles los delitos de ellos, y poniendo en nosotros la palabra de la reconciliación. For certainly God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not charging them with their sins. And he has placed in us the Word of reconciliation.20Somos pues, embajadores (de Dios) en lugar de Cristo, como si Dios exhortase por medio de nosotros. De parte de Cristo os suplicamos: Reconciliaos con Dios. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, so that God is exhorting through us. We beseech you for Christ: be reconciled to God.21Por nosotros hizo Él pecado a Aquel que no conoció pecado, para que en Él fuéramos nosotros hechos justicia de Dios. For God made him who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the justice of God in him.
