2 Corintios 8
1Os hacemos también saber, hermanos, la gracia que Dios ha dado a las Iglesias de Macedonia; And so we are making known to you, brothers, the grace of God that has been given in the churches of Macedonia.2porque en la grande prueba de la tribulación, la abundancia de su gozo y su extremada pobreza han redundado en riquezas de generosidad por parte de ellos. For within a great experience of tribulation, they have had an abundance of joy, and their profound poverty has only increased the richness of their simplicity.3Doyles testimonio de que según sus fuerzas, y aun sobre sus fuerzas, de propia iniciativa, And I bear witness to them, that they were willing to accept what was in accord with their ability, and even what was beyond their ability.4nos pidieron con mucha instancia la gracia de poder participar en el socorro en bien de los santos; For they were begging us, with great exhortation, for the grace and the communication of the ministry that is with the saints.5y no como habíamos esperado, sino que se entregaron ellos mismos primeramente al Señor y luego a nosotros por voluntad de Dios. And this is beyond what we had hoped, since they gave themselves, first of all to the Lord, and then also to us, through the will of God,6Así, pues, hemos rogado a Tito que tal como comenzó, de la misma manera lleve a cabo entre vosotros también esta gracia. so much so that we petitioned Titus, that in the same manner as he had begun, he would also complete in you this same grace.7Y así como abundáis en todo, en fe, en palabra, en conocimiento, y en toda solicitud, y en vuestro amor hacia nosotros, abundad también en esta gracia. But, just as in all things you abound in faith and in word and in knowledge and in all solicitude, and even more so in your charity toward us, so also may you abound in this grace.8No hablo como quien manda, sino por solicitud en favor de otros, y para probar la sinceridad de vuestra caridad. I am speaking, not commanding. But through the solicitude of others, I approve of the good character of your charity.9Ya conocéis la gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que por vosotros se hizo pobre, siendo rico, para que vosotros por su pobreza os enriquezcáis. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, he became poor for your sakes, so that through his poverty, you might become rich.10Y en ello os doy consejo, porque esto conviene a vosotros, como quienes os adelantasteis desde el año pasado, no solo en hacer sino también en querer. And about this, I give my counsel. For this is useful to those of you who, only a year earlier, had just begun to act, or even to be willing to act.11Ahora, pues, cumplidlo de hecho, para que, como hubo prontitud en el querer, así sea también el llevarlo a cabo en la medida de lo que poseéis. So, truly now, accomplish this in deed, so that, in the same manner as your willing mind is prompted, you may also act, out of that which you have.12Pues cuando hay prontitud se acepta conforme a lo que uno tiene, no a lo que no tiene. For when the will is prompted, it receives according to what that person has, not according to what that person does not have.13No de tal modo que otros tengan holgura, y vosotros estrechez, sino que por razón de igualdad, And it is not that others should be relieved, while you are troubled, but that there should be an equality.14en esta ocasión vuestra abundancia supla la escasez de ellos, para que su abundancia, a su vez, supla la escasez vuestra, de manera que haya igualdad, In this present time, let your abundance supply their need, so that their abundance may also supply your need, in order that there may be an equality, just as it was written:15según está escrito: “El que (recogió) mucho no tuvo de sobra; y el que poco, no tuvo de menos”. “He with more did not have too much; and he with less did not have too little.”16Gracias sean dadas a Dios que puso la misma solicitud (mía) por vosotros en el corazón de Tito. But thanks be to God, who has granted to the heart of Titus, this same solicitude for you.17Pues no solo acogió nuestra exhortación, sino que, muy solícito, por propia iniciativa partió hacia vosotros. For certainly, he accepted the exhortation. But since he was more solicitous, he went to you of his own free will.18Y enviamos con él al hermano cuyo elogio por la predicación del Evangelio se oye por todas las Iglesias. And we have even sent with him a brother whose praise accompanies the Gospel throughout all the churches.19Y no solo esto, sino que además fue votado por las Iglesias para compañero nuestro de viaje en esta gracia administrada por vosotros para gloria del mismo Señor y para satisfacer la prontitud de nuestro ánimo. And not only that, but he was also chosen by the churches to be a companion for our sojourn in this grace, which is ministered by us with our determined will, to the glory of the Lord.20Con esto queremos evitar que nadie nos vitupere con motivo de este caudal administrado por nuestras manos; So let us avoid this, lest anyone disparage us over the abundance that is ministered by us.21porque procuramos hacer lo que es bueno, no solo ante el Señor, sino también delante de los hombres. For we provide for what is good, not only in the sight of God, but also in the sight of men.22Con ellos enviamos al hermano nuestro a quien en muchas cosas y muchas veces hemos probado solícito, y ahora mucho más solícito por lo mucho que confía en vosotros. And we have also sent with them our brother, whom we have proven to be frequently solicitous in many matters. But now there is a greater solicitousness, which is greatly entrusted to you;23En cuanto a Tito, él es mi socio y colaborador entre vosotros; y nuestros hermanos son enviados de las Iglesias, gloria de Cristo. and whether it concerns Titus, who is a companion to me and a helper to you, or whether it concerns our brothers, the Apostles of the churches, it is to the glory of Christ.24Dadles, pues, a la faz de las Iglesias, pruebas de vuestra caridad y de la razón con que nos hemos preciado de vosotros. Therefore, in the sight of the churches, show them the proof of your charity and of our glorying about you.
