2 Timoteo 1
1Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús, por la voluntad de Dios, según la promesa de vida en Cristo Jesús, Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, in accord with the promise of the life which is in Christ Jesus,2a Timoteo el hijo amado: gracia, misericordia, paz, de parte de Dios Padre, y de Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor. to Timothy, most beloved son. Grace, mercy, peace, from God the Father and from Christ Jesus our Lord.3Doy gracias a Dios, a quien sirvo desde mis mayores con conciencia pura, de cómo sin cesar hago memoria de ti en mis oraciones, noche y día, I give thanks to God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with a pure conscience. For without ceasing I hold the remembrance of you in my prayers, night and day,4anhelando verte, al acordarme de tus lágrimas, para llenarme de gozo; desiring to see you, recalling your tears so as to be filled with joy,5porque traigo a la memoria la fe, que en ti no es fingida, la cual habitó primero en tu abuela Loida y en tu madre Eunice y que estoy seguro habita también en ti. calling to mind the same faith, which is in you unfeigned, which also first dwelt in your grandmother, Lois, and in your mother, Eunice, and also, I am certain, in you.6Por esto te exhorto a que reavives el carisma de Dios que por medio de la imposición de mis manos está en ti. Because of this, I admonish you to revive the grace of God, which is in you by the imposition of my hands.7Porque no nos ha dado Dios espíritu de timidez, sino de fortaleza y de amor y de templanza. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of virtue, and of love, and of self-restraint.8No te avergüences, pues, del testimonio de nuestro Señor, ni de mí, su prisionero, antes bien comparte mis trabajos por la causa del Evangelio mediante el poder de Dios; And so, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me, his prisoner. Instead, collaborate with the Gospel in accord with the virtue of God,9el cual nos salvó y nos llamó con vocación santa, no en virtud de nuestras obras, sino en virtud de su propio designio y de la gracia que nos dio en Cristo Jesús antes de los tiempos eternos, who has freed us and has called us to his holy vocation, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus, before the ages of time.10y que ahora ha manifestado por la aparición de nuestro Salvador Cristo Jesús, que aniquiló la muerte e irradió la vida e inmortalidad por medio del Evangelio, And this has now been made manifest by the illumination of our Savior Jesus Christ, who certainly has destroyed death, and who has also illuminated life and incorruption through the Gospel.11del cual yo fui constituido heraldo y apóstol y doctor. Of this Gospel, I have been appointed a preacher, and an Apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.12Por cuya causa padezco estas cosas, mas no me avergüenzo, puesto que sé a quién he creído, y estoy cierto de que Él es poderoso para guardar mi depósito hasta aquel día. For this reason, I also suffer these things. But I am not confounded. For I know in whom I have believed, and I am certain that he has the power to preserve what was entrusted to me, unto that day.13Conserva las palabras saludables en la misma forma que de mí las oíste con fe y amor en Cristo Jesús. Hold to the kind of sound words that you have heard from me in the faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.14Guarda el buen depósito por medio del Espíritu Santo que habita en nosotros. Guard the good entrusted to you through the Holy Spirit, who lives within us.15Ya sabes que me han abandonado todos los de Asia, de cuyo número son Figelo y Hermógenes. Know this: that all those who are in Asia have turned away from me, among whom are Phigellus and Hermogenes.16Conceda el Señor misericordia a la casa de Onesíforo, porque muchas veces me alivió y no se avergonzó de mis cadenas; May the Lord have mercy on the house of Onesiphorus, because he has often refreshed me, and he has not been ashamed of my chains.17antes, llegado a Roma, me buscó diligentemente hasta dar conmigo. Instead, when he had arrived in Rome, he anxiously sought me and found me.18Concédale el Señor que halle misericordia delante del Señor en aquel día. ¡Y cuántos servicios me prestó en Éfeso! Tú lo sabes muy bien. May the Lord grant to him to obtain mercy from the Lord in that day. And you know well in how many ways he has ministered to me at Ephesus.
