1. Te conjuro delante de Dios y de Cristo Jesús, el cual juzgará a vivos y a muertos, tanto en su aparición como en su reino: I testify before God, and before Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead through his return and his kingdom:2predica la Palabra, insta a tiempo y a destiempo, reprende, censura, exhorta con toda longanimidad y doctrina. that you should preach the word urgently, in season and out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke, with all patience and doctrine.3Porque vendrá el tiempo en que no soportarán más la sana doctrina, antes bien con prurito de oír se amontonarán maestros con arreglo a sus concupiscencias. For there shall be a time when they will not endure sound doctrine, but instead, according to their own desires, they will gather to themselves teachers, with itching ears,4Apartarán de la verdad el oído, pero se volverán a las fábulas. and certainly, they will turn their hearing away from the truth, and they will be turned toward fables.5Por tu parte, sé sobrio en todo, soporta lo adverso, haz obra de evangelista, cumple bien tu ministerio. But as for you, truly, be vigilant, laboring in all things. Do the work of an Evangelist, fulfilling your ministry. Show self-restraint.6Porque yo ya estoy a punto de ser derramado como libación, y el tiempo de mi disolución es inminente. For I am already being worn away, and the time of my dissolution presses close.7He peleado el buen combate, he terminado la carrera, he guardado la fe. I have fought the good fight. I have completed the course.
