Amós 2
1Así dice Yahvé: “Por tres pecados de Moab, y por cuatro, no le daré perdón: Porque quemó los huesos del rey de Edom, hasta calcinarlos, Thus says the Lord: For three wicked deeds of Moab, and for four, I will not convert him, in so far as he has burned the bones of the king of Idumea, all the way to ashes.2enviaré fuego contra Moab, que devorará los palacios de Kiryat; y morirá Moab con estruendo, entre alaridos y sonido de trompeta. And I will send a fire onto Moab, and it will devour the buildings of Kerioth. And Moab will die with a noise, with the blare of a trumpet.3Exterminaré a su juez de en medio de él, y junto con él mataré a todos sus príncipes”, dice Yahvé. And I will destroy the judge in their midst, and I will execute all his leaders with him, says the Lord.4Así dice Yahvé: “Por tres pecados de Judá, y por cuatro, no le doy perdón: Porque han desechado la ley de Yahvé, despreciando sus mandamientos, y porque se dejaron extraviar por sus mentiras tras las cuales anduvieron sus padres, Thus says the Lord: For three wicked deeds of Judah, and for four, I will not convert him, in so far as he has rejected the law of the Lord and has not kept his commandments. For their idols, which their fathers followed, have deceived them.5enviaré fuego contra Judá, que devorará los palacios de Jerusalén.” And I will send a fire onto Judah, and it will devour the buildings of Jerusalem.6Así dice Yahvé: “Por tres pecados de Israel, y por cuatro, no le doy perdón: Porque venden al justo por dinero, y al pobre por un par de sandalias; Thus says the Lord: For three wicked deeds of Israel, and for four, I will not convert him, in so far as he has sold the just for silver and the poor for shoes.7porque aplastan sobre el polvo de la tierra la cabeza de los desvalidos, y tuercen el camino de los humildes; porque un hijo y su padre se llegan a la misma joven, profanando mi santo Nombre; They grind the heads of the poor into the dust of the earth, and they divert the way of the humble. And the son, as well as his father, have gone to the same girl, so that they outrage my holy name.8porque sobre las ropas tomadas en prenda se acuestan al lado de todo altar, y en la casa de su dios beben el vino de aquellos a quienes han condenado. And they have lain on garments taken in pledge next to every altar. And they drank the wine of the damned in the house of their God.9Y con todo, soy Yo quien extermine ante ellos a los amorreos, altos como cedros y fuertes como encinas. Yo destruí su fruto de la parte de arriba, y sus raíces de la parte de abajo. Yet I exterminated the Amorites before their face, whose height was like the height of cedars, and whose strength was like the oak. And I crushed his fruit from above and his roots below.10Soy Yo asimismo quien os saqué de la tierra de Egipto, y os conduje por el desierto durante cuarenta años, para que heredarais el país de los amorreos. It is I who caused you to ascend from the land of Egypt, and I led you in the wilderness for forty years, so that you might possess the land of the Amorite.11Yo suscité profetas entre vuestros hijos, y nazareos entre vuestros jóvenes. ¿No es así, oh hijos de Israel?”, dice Yahvé. And I stirred up prophets from your sons, and Nazirites from your young men. Is it not so, sons of Israel, says the Lord?12“Vosotros disteis de beber vino a los nazareos, y a los profetas les mandasteis: «No profeticéis». Yet you would offer wine to the Nazirites, and you would command the prophets, saying: “Do not prophesy.”13He aquí que os haré crujir, como cruje el carro cargado de gavillas. Behold, I will creak under you, just as a wagon creaks that is laden with hay.14Ni el hombre más ligero será capaz de huir, el fuerte no tendrá más fuerza, y el valiente no podrá salvarse. And flight will perish from the swift, and the strong will not maintain his strength, and the healthy will not save his life.15No resistirá el que maneja el arco, y el ligero de pies no escapará; ni podrá ponerse en salvo el de a caballo. And one holding the bow will not stand firm, and the swift of foot will not be saved, and the rider on the horse will not save his life.16En aquel día el más valeroso entre los valientes huirá desnudo”, dice Yahvé. And the stout of heart among the strong will flee away naked in that day, says the Lord.
