Amós 4
1Escuchad esta palabra, vacas de Basán, que vivís en el monte de Samaria; que oprimís a los desvalidos y holláis a los pobres, y decís a vuestros señores: “Traed y beberemos.” Listen to this word, you fat cows that are on the mountain of Samaria, you who make false accusations against the destitute and crush the poor, who say to your nobles, “Bring, and we will drink.”2Juró Yahvé, el Señor, por su santidad: “He aquí que os sobrevendrán días en que os sacarán con ganchos, y a las últimas de entre vosotras con anzuelos de pesca. The Lord God has sworn in his holiness: behold, the days that will overcome you and that will impale you on poles, and that will place what remains of you in boiling pots.3Y os evadiréis por las brechas, una tras otra; y seréis arrojadas a Harmón”, dice Yahvé. And you will go out through the breaches, one over another, and you will be cast out into Harmon, says the Lord.4Id a Betel a pecar, y a Gálgala para aumentar las prevaricaciones; ofreced cada mañana vuestros sacrificios, y cada tres días vuestros diezmos. Come to Bethel and behave impiously, to Gilgal and increase betrayals. And bring daybreak to your victims, your tithes in three days.5Haced con pan fermentado sacrificios de alabanza, pregonad ofrendas voluntarias, proclamadlas; porque así lo queréis, oh hijos de Israel, dice Yahvé, el Señor. And offer a sacrifice of praise with leaven. And call for voluntary oblations, and announce it. For such is your will, sons of Israel, says the Lord God.6“En todas vuestras ciudades os he dejado con los dientes limpios, y faltos de pan en todos vuestros lugares; y con todo no os habéis convertido a Mí”, dice Yahvé. Therefore, because of this, I have given you dull teeth in every one of your cities, and a lack of bread in all your places. And you have not been turned back towards me, says the Lord.7“Yo detuve asimismo las lluvias cuando aún faltaban tres meses para la siega, hice que lloviese sobre una ciudad, y que no lloviese sobre otra; una parte del campo tuvo lluvia, y la otra quedó sin lluvia y se secó. Therefore, I have withheld the rains from you, when there were still three months left until the harvest. And I rained on one city, and I did not rain on another city; one part was rained on, and the part on which I did not rain, dried out.8Iban dos o tres ciudades a otra ciudad para beber agua, sin poder saciarse; pero no os habéis convertido a Mí”, dice Yahvé. And two and three cities went to one city, in order to drink water, and they were not satisfied. And you did not return to me, says the Lord.9“Os herí con tizón y con añublo; la langosta devoró la multitud de vuestros huertos y de vuestras viñas, de vuestras higueras y de vuestros olivos, y con todo no os habéis convertido a Mí”, dice Yahvé. I struck you with a burning wind and with yellowing; the caterpillar has consumed your many gardens and your vineyards, your olive groves and your fig groves. And you did not return to me, says the Lord.10“Envié contra vosotros la peste, como contra Egipto; hice morir al filo de la espada a vuestros jóvenes; fueron apresados vuestros caballos, e hice subir el hedor de vuestros campamentos a vuestras narices; pero no os habéis convertido a Mí”, dice Yahvé. I sent death to you by way of Egypt; I struck your youths with the sword, even bringing captivity to your horses. And I made the stench of your camp ascend into your nostrils. And you did not return to me, says the Lord.11“Os trastorné como trastornó Dios a Sodoma y Gomorra; y fuisteis como tizón arrebatado de un incendio: y con todo no os habéis convertido a Mí”, dice Yahvé. I overturned you, just as God overturned Sodom and Gomorrah, and you became like an ember seized from the fire. And you did not return to me, says the Lord.12Por eso, así te trataré, oh Israel; y ya que esto haré contigo; prepárate para salir al encuentro de tu Dios, oh Israel. Because of this, I will do these things to you, Israel. But after I have done these things to you, Israel, be prepared to meet your God.13Porque Él es quien formó las montañas y creó los vientos; Él es quien manifiesta al hombre su pensamiento, convierte la aurora en tinieblas anda sobre los montes de la tierra. Yahvé, Dios de los ejércitos, es su Nombre. For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind and announces his speech to man, who makes the morning mist and steps over the heights of the earth: the Lord God of hosts is his name.
