¹Si, pues, fuisteis resucitados con Cristo, buscad las cosas que son de arriba, donde Cristo está sentado a la diestra de Dios. Therefore, if you have risen together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.²Pensad en las cosas de arriba, no en las de la tierra; Consider the things that are above, not the things that are upon the earth.³porque ya moristeis (con Él) y vuestra vida está escondida con Cristo en Dios. For you have died, and so your life is hidden with Christ in God.⁴Cuando se manifieste nuestra vida, que es Cristo, entonces vosotros también seréis manifestados con Él en gloria. When Christ, your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.⁵Por tanto, haced morir los miembros que aún tengáis en la tierra: fornicación, impureza, pasiones, la mala concupiscencia y la codicia, que es idolatría. Therefore, mortify your body, while it is upon the earth. For because of fornication, impurity, lust, evil desires, and avarice, which are a kind of service to idols,⁶A causa de estas cosas descarga la ira de Dios sobre los hijos de la desobediencia. the wrath of God has overwhelmed the sons of unbelief.⁷Y en ellas habéis andado también vosotros en un tiempo, cuando vivíais entre aquellos. You, too, walked in these things, in times past, when you were living among them.⁸Mas ahora, quitaos de encima también vosotros todas estas cosas: ira, enojo, malicia, maledicencia, palabras deshonestas de vuestra boca. But now you must set aside all these things: anger, indignation, malice, blasphemy, and indecent speech from your mouth.⁹No mintáis unos a otros. Despojaos del hombre viejo con sus obras, Do not lie to one another. Strip yourselves of the old man, with his deeds,¹⁰y vestíos del nuevo, el cual se va renovando para lograr el conocimiento según la imagen de Aquel que lo creó; and clothe yourself with the new man, who has been renewed by knowledge, in accord with the image of the One who created him,¹¹donde no hay griego ni judío, circuncisión ni incircuncisión, ni bárbaro, ni escita, ni esclavo, ni libre, sino que Cristo es todo y en todos. where there is neither Gentile nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian nor Scythian, servant nor free. Instead, Christ is everything, in everyone.¹²Vestíos, pues, como elegidos de Dios, santos y amados, de entrañas de misericordia, benignidad, humildad, mansedumbre, longanimidad, Therefore, clothe yourselves like the elect of God: holy and beloved, with hearts of mercy, kindness, humility, modesty, and patience.¹³sufriéndoos unos a otros, y perdonándoos mutuamente, si alguno tuviere queja contra otro. Como el Señor os ha perdonado, así perdonad también vosotros. Support one another, and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive one another. For just as the Lord has forgiven you, so also must you do.¹⁴Pero sobre todas estas cosas, (vestíos) del amor, que es el vínculo de la perfección. And above all these things have charity, which is the bond of perfection.¹⁵Y la paz de Cristo, a la cual habéis sido llamados en un solo cuerpo, prime en vuestros corazones. Y sed agradecidos: And let the peace of Christ lift up your hearts. For in this peace, you have been called, as one body. And be thankful.¹⁶La Palabra de Cristo habite en vosotros con opulencia, enseñándoos y exhortándoos unos a otros en toda sabiduría, cantando a Dios con gratitud en vuestros corazones, salmos, himnos y cánticos espirituales. Let the word of Christ live in you in abundance, with all wisdom, teaching and correcting one another, with psalms, hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing to God with the grace in your hearts.¹⁷Y todo cuanto hagáis, de palabra o de obra, hacedlo todo en nombre del Señor Jesús, dando por medio de Él las gracias a Dios Padre. Let everything whatsoever that you do, whether in word or in deed, be done all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him.¹⁸Mujeres, estad sujetas a vuestros maridos, como conviene en el Señor. Wives, be submissive to your husbands, as is proper in the Lord.¹⁹Maridos, amad a vuestras mujeres, y no las tratéis con aspereza. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be bitter toward them.²⁰Hijos, obedeced a vuestros padres en todo, porque esto es lo agradable en el Señor. Children, obey your parents in all things. For this is well-pleasing to the Lord.²¹Padres, no exasperéis a vuestros hijos, no sea que se desalienten. Fathers, do not provoke your children to indignation, lest they lose heart.²²Siervos, obedeced en todo a vuestros amos según la carne, no sirviendo al ojo, como para agradar a los hombres, sino con sencillez de corazón, temiendo al Señor. Servants, obey, in all things, your lords according to the flesh, not serving only when seen, as if to please men, but serving in simplicity of heart, fearing God.²³Cuanto hagáis, hacedlo de corazón, como para el Señor, y no para los hombres, Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as for the Lord, and not for men.²⁴sabiendo que de parte del Señor recibiréis por galardón la herencia. Es a Cristo el Señor a quien servís. For you know that you will receive from the Lord the repayment of an inheritance. Serve Christ the Lord.²⁵Porque el que hace injusticia, recibirá la injusticia que hizo; y no hay acepción de personas. For whoever causes injury shall be repaid for what he has wrongfully done. And there no favoritism with God.
