Ester 12

1Estaba entonces Mardoqueo en el palacio del rey con Bagata y Tara, eunucos del rey, los cuales eran porteros del palacio. Now he was staying at that time in the king’s court with Bagatha and Thara the king’s eunuchs, who were porters of the palace.2Se enteró de los planes de ellos y después de averiguar bien sus designios, entendió que atentaban contra la vida del rey Artajerjes, y dio de ello noticia al rey; And when he realized their thoughts, and had diligently paid close attention, he learned that they were attempting to cast their hand against king Artaxerxes, and he reported this to the king.3el cual hizo el proceso a ambos, y habiendo ellos confesado, mandó conducirlos a la muerte. Then the king had both of them questioned, and when they confessed, he ordered a sentence of death.4El rey hizo escribir en los anales lo sucedido; e igualmente lo puso por escrito Mardoqueo, para conservar su memoria. But the king had what had happened written in the commentaries. And even Mordecai handed over the memory of these things into writing.5También el rey le mandó que se quedase en la corte real, después de haberle recompensado por la denuncia. And the king instructed him to remain in the court of the palace, having given him this position for the information.6Pero Amán, hijo de Amadati, bugeo, gozaba de gran favor con el rey, y quiso perder a Mardoqueo y a su pueblo, a causa de los dos eunucos del rey que habían sido ajusticiados. In truth, Haman the son of Hammedatha the Bougaean had great honor in the eyes of the king, and he wanted to harm Mordecai and his people because of the two eunuchs of the king who had been executed.
