1Dijo Yahvé a Moisés: “Tállate dos tablas de piedras como las primeras, y Yo escribiré sobre estas tablas las palabras que había en las primeras tablas que quebraste. And after this he said: “Cut out for yourself two tablets of stone similar to the first ones, and I will write upon them the words which were held on the tablets that you broke.2Y prepárate para mañana para subir temprano al monte Sinaí; allí en la cumbre del monte te presentarás delante de Mí. Be prepared in the morning, so that you may immediately ascend onto Mount Sinai, and you shall stand with me on the summit of the mountain.3No suba nadie contigo, ni aparezca nadie en todo el monte; ni tampoco oveja ni buey pazca frente a este monte.” Let no one ascend with you, and do not let anyone be seen throughout the entire mountain. Likewise, do not let the oxen or the sheep pasture up against it.”4Talló, pues, Moisés dos tablas de piedra como las primeras, y levantándose muy de mañana subió al monte Sinaí, como le había mandado Yahvé, llevando en su mano las dos tablas de piedra. And so he cut out two tablets of stone, like those that were before. And rising up in the night, he ascended onto Mount Sinai, just as the Lord had instructed him, carrying with him the tablets.5Y descendió Yahvé en la nube y poniéndose allí junto a él pronunció el nombre de Yahvé. And when the Lord had descended in a cloud, Moses stood with him, calling upon the name of the Lord.6Y mientras Yahvé pasaba por delante de él, exclamó: “Yahvé, Yahvé, Dios misericordioso y clemente, longánimo y rico en bondad y fidelidad; And as he was crossing before him, he said: “The Ruler, the Lord God, merciful and lenient, patient and full of compassion and also truthful,7que conserva la misericordia hasta mil (generaciones), que perdona la iniquidad, la transgresión y el pecado, pero que de ningún modo los deja impune; que castiga la iniquidad de los padres en los hijos, y en los hijos de los hijos hasta la tercera y cuarta generación.” who preserves mercy a thousand fold, who takes away iniquity, and wickedness, and also sin; and with you no one, in and of himself, is innocent. You render the iniquity of the fathers to the sons, and also to their descendants to the third and fourth generation.”8Al instante Moisés se prosternó en tierra y adoró, And hurrying, Moses bowed down prostrate to the ground; and worshiping,9diciendo: “Si en verdad he hallado gracia a tus ojos, oh Señor, dígnese mi Señor andar en medio de nosotros, aunque es un pueblo de dura cerviz; y perdona nuestra iniquidad y nuestro pecado, y tómanos por herencia tuya.” he said: “If I have found grace in your sight, O Lord, I beg you to walk with us, (for the people are stiff-necked) and take away our iniquities and our sin, and so possess us.”10Respondió Él: “Mira, Yo hago un pacto: haré maravillas delante de todo tu pueblo, como nunca se han hecho en toda la tierra ni en nación alguna; y todo el pueblo en medio del cual estás verá la obra de Yahvé, porque tremendas son las cosas que he de hacer por medio de ti.” The Lord responded: “I will enter into a pact in the sight of all. I will perform signs which have never been seen on earth, nor among any nation, so that this people, in whose midst you are, may discern the terrible work of the Lord that I will do.11“Observa bien lo que te mando hoy. He aquí que voy a echar delante de ti al amorreo, al cananeo, al heteo, al fereceo, al heveo y al jebuseo. Observe everything that I command you this day. I myself will drive out before your face the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.12Guárdate de hacer alianza con los habitantes del país en que vas a entrar, para que no sean un lazo en medio de ti; Beware that you do not ever join in friendship with the inhabitants of that land, which may be your ruin.13antes bien, destruid sus altares, quebrad sus piedras idolátricas y romped sus ascheras. But destroy their altars, break their statues, and cut down their sacred groves.14No te postrarás ante ningún otro Dios, pues Yahvé, cuyo nombre es Celoso, es un Dios celoso. Do not be willing to worship any strange god. The jealous Lord is his name. God is a rival.15No hagas pacto con los moradores de aquella tierra, porque ellos fornican con sus dioses y les ofrecen sacrificios. Te invitarán y tú comerás de sus sacrificios; Do not enter into a pact with the men of those regions, lest, when they will have fornicated with their gods and worshiped their idols, someone might call upon you to eat from what was immolated.16y tomarás de sus hijas para tus hijos; y fornicando sus hijas con sus dioses harán también fornicar a tus hijos con los dioses de ellas. Neither shall you take a wife for your son from their daughters, lest, after they themselves have fornicated, they may cause your sons also to fornicate with their gods.17No te harás dioses de fundición. You shall not make for yourselves any molten gods.18Guardarás la fiesta de los Ácimos; siete días comerás panes ácimos como te he mandado, al tiempo fijado, esto es, en el mes de Abib; pues en el mes de Abib saliste de Egipto. You shall keep the solemnity of unleavened bread. For seven days, you shall eat unleavened bread, just as I instructed you, in the time of the month of what is new. For in the month of springtime you departed from Egypt.19Todo primogénito es mío, asimismo todo primerizo de tu ganado, que fuere del sexo masculino, sea de vaca o de oveja. All of the male kind, which open the womb, shall be mine: from all the animals, as much of oxen as of sheep, it shall be mine.20Mas el primerizo del asno rescatarás con una oveja; y si no lo rescatas le quebrarás la cerviz. A todos los primogénitos de tus hijos los rescatarás, y nadie se presentará ante Mí con las manos vacías. The firstborn of a donkey, you shall redeem with a sheep. But if you will not give a price for it, it shall be slain. The firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. You shall not appear empty in my sight.21Seis días trabajarás, mas en el séptimo descansarás. Descansarás también en el tiempo de la siembra y de la siega. For six days you shall work. On the seventh day you shall cease to cultivate and to harvest.22Celebrarás la fiesta de las Semanas: la de los primeros frutos de la cosecha del trigo, y también la fiesta de la recolección al fin del año. You shall observe the Solemnity of Weeks with the first-fruits of the grain from the harvest of your wheat, and a Solemnity when the time of the year returns and everything is stored away.23Tres veces al año, comparezcan todos tus varones ante Yahvé, el Señor, el Dios de Israel. Three times a year, all your males shall appear in the sight of the Almighty, the Lord God of Israel.24Porque Yo arrojaré los pueblos delante de ti, y ensancharé tus límites, y nadie codiciará tu tierra mientras subas tres veces al año a presentarte delante de Yahvé, tu Dios. For when I will have taken away the nations before your face, and enlarged your borders, no one shall lie in wait against your land when you will go up to appear in the sight of the Lord your God, three times a year.25No ofrecerás con pan fermentado la sangre de mi sacrificio ni quede hasta el día siguiente la víctima de la fiesta de Pascua. You shall not immolate the blood of my victim over leaven; and there shall not remain, in the morning, any of the victim of the Solemnity of the Passover.26Llevarás a la Casa de Yahvé, tu Dios, las primicias de los primeros frutos de tu tierra. No cocerás el cabrito en la leche de su madre.” The first of the fruits of your land you shall offer in the house of the Lord your God. You shall not boil a young goat in the milk of its mother.”27Y dijo Yahvé a Moisés: “Escríbete estas palabras; porque a tenor de ellas hago alianza contigo y con Israel.” And the Lord said to Moses, “Write these words to you, through which I have formed a covenant, both with you and with Israel.”28Moisés estuvo allí con Yahvé cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, sin comer pan ni beber agua. Y Yahvé escribió en las tablas las palabras de la alianza, los diez mandamientos. Therefore, he was in that place with the Lord for forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread and he did not drink water, and he wrote on the tablets the ten words of the covenant.29Luego bajó Moisés del monte Sinaí, y al bajar del monte tenía en su mano las dos tablas del Testimonio; mas no sabía Moisés que la piel de su rostro se había hecho radiante por haber hablado con Él. And when Moses descended from Mount Sinai, he held the two tablets of the testimony, and he did not know that his face was radiant from the sharing of words with the Lord.30Aarón y todos los hijos de Israel miraron a Moisés, y he aquí que la piel de su rostro brillaba, por lo cual tuvieron miedo de acercársele. Then Aaron and the sons of Israel, seeing that the face of Moses was radiant, were afraid to approach close by.31Pero Moisés los llamó y se volvieron a él Aarón y todos los príncipes del pueblo, y Moisés habló con ellos. And being called by him, they turned back, both Aaron and the leaders of the assembly. And after he had spoken to them,32Después se acercaron también todos los hijos de Israel, y él les dio todas las órdenes que Yahvé le había dado en el monte Sinaí. all the sons of Israel also now came to him. And he instructed them in all the things that he had heard from the Lord on Mount Sinai.33Y cuando Moisés acabó de hablar con ellos, se puso un velo sobre el rostro. And having completed these words, he placed a veil over his face.34Y siempre cuando Moisés iba a presentarse delante de Yahvé para hablar con Él se quitaba el velo hasta que salía, y cuando salía, refería a los hijos de Israel lo que se le había ordenado. But when he entered to the Lord and was speaking with him, he took it off, until he exited. And then he spoke to the sons of Israel all that had been commanded to him.35Los hijos de Israel veían entonces el rostro de Moisés y la radiante piel de su rostro. Y Moisés cubría de nuevo su rostro hasta que entraba a hablar con Él. And they saw that the face of Moses, when he came out, was radiant, but he covered his face again, whenever he spoke to them.
