1Vino a mí la palabra de Yahvé, diciendo: And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:2“Hijo de hombre, echa en cara a Jerusalén sus abominaciones. “Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations.3Dirás: Así habla Yahvé, el Señor, a Jerusalén: Según tu origen y tu nacimiento procediste de la tierra del cananeo; tu padre era un amorreo y tu madre una hetea. And you shall say: Thus says the Lord God to Jerusalem: Your root and your lineage is from the land of Canaan; your father was an Amorite, and your mother was a Cethite.4Al nacer, el día que saliste a luz, no te fue cortado el ombligo, ni fuiste lavada con agua para limpiarte; no fuiste frotada con sal, ni envuelta en pañales. And when you were born, on the day of your nativity, your umbilical cord was not cut, and you were not washed with water for health, nor salted with salt, nor wrapped with cloths.5Ningún ojo se apiadó de ti ni tuvo compasión para prestarte uno de estos servicios, sino que fuiste arrojada sobre el campo, con desprecio de tu vida, el día en que naciste. No eye took pity on you, so as to do even one of these things to you, out of compassion for you. Instead, you were cast upon the face of the earth, in the abjection of your soul, on the day when you were born.6Mas pasando Yo cerca de ti, te vi cómo pataleabas en tu sangre, y te dije cuando estabas en tu sangre: «¡Vive!» Sí, cuando estabas en tu sangre, te dije: «¡Vive!» But, passing by you, I saw that you were wallowing in your own blood. And I said to you, when you were in your blood: ‘Live.’ I tell you that I said to you, in your blood: ‘Live.’7Te hice crecer como la hierba del campo; y creciste y te hiciste grande, y llegaste a ser muy hermosa; se formaron tus pechos y te creció el pelo; pero estabas desnuda y sin abrigo. I multiplied you like the seedling of the field. And you were multiplied and became great, and you advanced and arrived at the ornament of a woman. Your breasts rose up, and your hair grew. And you were naked and full of shame.8Y pasé junto a ti y te vi; era tu tiempo, el tiempo del amor; y extendí sobre ti las faldas de mi (manto) y cubrí tu desnudez, y te hice un juramento y entré en alianza contigo, dice Yahvé, el Señor; y así viniste a ser mía. And I passed by you and saw you. And behold, your time was the time of lovers. And I spread my garment over you, and I covered your disgrace. And I swore to you, and I entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord God, and you became mine.9Te lavé con agua, te limpié de la sangre que tenías encima y te ungí con óleo. And I washed you with water, and I cleansed you of your blood. And I anointed you with oil.10Te vestí de ropa recamada, te calcé de piel de tejón, te ceñí de lino fino y te cubrí de seda. And I covered you with embroidery, and I put violet shoes upon you, and I wrapped you in fine linen, and I clothed you with delicate garments.11Te engalané con joyas, puse brazaletes en tus brazos y un collar en tu cuello. I adorned you with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon your hands and a necklace around your neck.12Coloqué también un anillo en tu nariz, zarcillos en tus orejas y una magnífica diadema en tu cabeza. And I put gold upon your face, and earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown upon your head.13Y quedaste ataviada con oro y plata; tu vestido era de lino fino y de seda recamada; te nutriste con flor de harina, con miel y aceite; y viniste a ser extraordinariamente hermosa y llegaste a ser reina. And you were adorned with gold and silver, and you were clothed in fine linen, woven with many colors. You ate fine flour, and honey, and oil. And you became very beautiful. And you advanced to royal power.14Se hizo famoso tu nombre entre las naciones, gracias a tu hermosura, la cual era perfecta por los adornos que Yo había puesto en ti, dice Yahvé, el Señor. And your renown went forth among the Gentiles, because of your beauty. For you were perfected by my beauty, which I had placed upon you, says the Lord God.15Pero confiaste en tu belleza y prostituiste tu nombre y ofreciste tus fornicaciones a todos los transeúntes, entregándote a ellos. But, having confidence in your own beauty, you fornicated in your fame. And you presented your fornication to every passer-by, so as to become his.16Tomando tus vestidos te hiciste toda clase de lugares altos y te prostituiste en ellos; cosa que nunca se había hecho ni se verá en adelante. And taking from your garments, you made for yourself exalted things, having sewed together disparate pieces. And you fornicated upon them, in a way that has not been done before, nor will be in the future.17Echaste mano de tus hermosas joyas hechas de mi oro y mi plata, las que Yo te había regalado; y te hiciste simulacros humanos y fornicaste con ellos. And you took your beautiful items, made of my gold and my silver, which I gave to you, and you made for yourself images of men, and you fornicated with them.18Tomaste tus vestidos recamados, y con ellos los cubriste y les ofreciste mi aceite y mi incienso. And you used your multicolored vestments to cover these things. And you placed my oil and my incense before them.19Mi pan también que Yo te había dado y con que te alimentaba, la flor de harina, el aceite y la miel, los pusiste delante de ellos como (ofrenda) de suave olor. Tal cosa sucedió, dice Yahvé, el Señor. And my bread, which I gave to you, the fine flour, and the oil, and the honey, by which I nourished you, you placed in their sight as a sweet fragrance. And so it was done, says the Lord God.20Asimismo tomaste tus hijos y tus hijas, que habías dado a luz para Mí, y se los sacrificaste para que les sirviesen de pasto. Y como si fuese cosa insignificante tu fornicación, And you took your sons and your daughters, whom you bore for me, and you immolated them to be devoured. Is your fornication a small matter?21degollaste a mis hijos, y los entregaste haciéndolos pasar (por el fuego) en honor de ellos. You have immolated my sons, and you have consecrated and delivered my sons to them.22En todas tus abominaciones y fornicaciones no te acordaste de los días de tu juventud, cuando estabas desnuda y sin abrigo y pataleabas en tu sangre. And after all your abominations and fornications, you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and full of shame, wallowing in your own blood.23Y después de tanta malicia tuya — ¡ay, ay de ti! dice Yahvé, el Señor— And it happened that, after all your wickedness, (woe, woe to you, says the Lord God)24te edificaste una altura y te hiciste altares en todas las plazas. you built for yourself a brothel, and you made for yourself a place of prostitution in every street.25En cada encrucijada de camino te construiste una altura y desfiguraste tu hermosura, entregándote a cualquier transeúnte y multiplicando tus fornicaciones. At the head of every way, you set up a banner of your prostitution. And you caused your beauty to become abominable. And you distributed your feet to every passer-by. And you multiplied your fornications.26Fornicaste con los hijos de Egipto, tus gordos vecinos, y multiplicaste tus fornicaciones, para irritarme. And you fornicated with the sons of Egypt, your neighbors, who have large bodies. And you multiplied your fornications, so as to provoke me.27Y he aquí que Yo extendí mi mano contra ti, disminuí tu porción y te entregué al capricho de tus enemigas, las hijas de los filisteos, que se avergonzaban de tu mala conducta. Behold, I will extend my hand over you, and I will take away your justification. And I will give you to the souls of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of your wicked way.28No saciada aún te prostituiste a los hijos de Asiria; fornicaste con ellos; mas tampoco así quedaste satisfecha. You also fornicated with the sons of the Assyrians, for you were not yet done. And after you fornicated, even then, you were not satisfied.29Cometiste muchas fornicaciones en la tierra de Canaán, hasta la Caldea; y tampoco con esto te saciaste. And you multiplied your fornications in the land of Canaan with the Chaldeans. And even then, you were not satisfied.30¡Cuán débil es tu corazón! dice Yahvé, el Señor. ¡Haces todas estas fechorías como la ramera más desvergonzada! With what can I cleanse your heart, says the Lord God, since you do all these things, the works of a woman who is a shameless prostitute?31¡Te edificaste santuarios en todas las encrucijadas y te construiste altares en todas las plazas aunque no eres como las (otras) rameras por cuanto desdeñas la paga (de la prostitución)! For you have built your brothel at the head of every way, and you have made your exalted place on every street. And you have not even been like a choosy prostitute, increasing her price,32Tú eres la adúltera, que en vez de su marido se acoge a extraños. but instead like a woman who is an adulteress, who prefers strangers to her own husband.33A todas las rameras se les da paga, pero tú pagabas a todos tus amantes, y les hacías regalos, para que de todas partes viniesen a fornicar contigo. Wages are given to all prostitutes. But you have given wages to all your lovers, and you have given gifts to them, so that they would enter to you from every side, in order to fornicate with you.34Y ha sucedido contigo, en tus fornicaciones, lo contrario de lo que sucede con (otras) mujeres, pues ninguno te buscaba y tú dabas paga en lugar de recibirla. Así has sido lo contrario (de otras). And it is done with you, in your fornications, contrary to the custom of women, and even after you, there will be no such fornication. For in as much as you have given payment, and not taken payment, what has been done in you is the contrary.”35Por eso, oh ramera, escucha la palabra de Yahvé. Because of this, O harlot, listen to the word of the Lord.36Así dice Yahvé, el Señor: Por cuanto ha sido malgastado tu dinero y se ha descubierto tu desnudez en tus fornicaciones con tus amantes y con todos tus ídolos abominables, y a causa de la sangre de tus hijos que tú les ofreciste, Thus says the Lord God: “Because your money has been poured out, and your disgrace has been uncovered, in your fornications with your lovers and with the idols of your abominations, in the blood of your sons, whom you gave to them:37por eso, he aquí que congregaré a todos tus amantes con quienes te deleitaste; a todos los que has amado y a todos los que has aborrecido, los reuniré alrededor de ti, y les descubriré tu desnudez, para que vean toda tu vergüenza. Behold, I will gather all your lovers, with whom you have united, and all those whom you have loved, together with all those whom you have hated. And I will gather them together against you on every side. And I will uncover your disgrace before them, and they will see all your indecency.38Y te juzgaré como son juzgadas las adúlteras, y las que derraman sangre; y te haré víctima de furor y de celos. And I will judge you with the judgment of adulteresses and of those who shed blood. And I will give you over to blood, in fury and in zeal.39Te entregaré en sus manos, y destruirán tus santuarios, derribarán tus altares, te despojarán de tus vestidos, robarán tus magníficos adornos y te dejarán completamente desnuda. And I will deliver you into their hands. And they will destroy your brothel and demolish your place of prostitution. And they will strip you of your vestments. And they will take away the ornaments of your beauty. And they will leave you behind, naked and full of disgrace.40Reunirán contra ti una multitud, te apedrearán y te atravesarán con sus espadas. And they will lead over you a multitude. And they will stone you with stones, and massacre you with their swords.41Pegarán fuego a tus casas y ejecutarán en ti juicios, a la vista de muchas mujeres; y así cesarás de ser fornicaria, y no darás más regalos. And they will burn up your houses with fire, and they will carry out judgments against you in the sight of many women. And you will cease from fornication, and no longer give payment.42Así desahogaré en ti mi ira y no tendré más celos de ti; me calmaré y ya no me irritaré. And my indignation will be quieted in you. And my zeal will be taken from you. And I will rest, and no longer be angry.43Por no haberte tú acordado de los días de tu juventud y por haberme irritado con todo esto, por eso he aquí que Yo por mi parte he echado tus obras sobre tu cabeza, dice Yahvé, el Señor; y no cometerás más estos crímenes ni todas estas tus abominaciones. For you have not remembered the days of your youth, and you have provoked me in all these things. Because of this, I also have delivered all your ways upon your head, says the Lord God, but I have not acted in accord with your wickedness in all your abominations.44He aquí que todos los que saben aquel proverbio lo aplicarán a ti, diciendo: «Cual la madre, tal su hija». Behold, all who speak a common proverb will take this up against you, saying: ‘Like the mother, so also is her daughter.’45Hija eres de tu madre, que aborreció a su marido y a sus hijos; y hermana eres de tus hermanas, que aborrecieron a sus maridos y a sus hijos. Vuestra madre es una hetea y vuestro padre un amorreo. You are your mother’s daughter, for she cast away her husband and her children. And you are the sister of your sisters, for they cast away their husbands and their children. Your mother was a Cethite, and your father was an Amorite.46Tu hermana mayor es Samaria, ella con sus hijas, que habita a tu izquierda; y tu hermana menor, que habita a tu derecha, es Sodoma con sus hijas. And your older sister is Samaria, she and her daughters are those who live to your left. But your younger sister, who lives to your right, is Sodom and her daughters.47No solamente has seguido los caminos de ellas obrando conforme a sus abominaciones —demasiado poco era esto para ti— sino que has sido más perversa que ellas en todo tu proceder. But neither have you walked in their ways. For you have done only a little less compared to their wickedness. You have acted almost more wickedly, in all your ways, than they have acted.48Por mi vida, dice Yahvé, el Señor, que no hizo tu hermana Sodoma, ella y sus hijas, lo que tú y tus hijas habéis hecho. As I live, says the Lord God, your sister Sodom herself, and her daughters, have not done as you and your daughters have done.49He aquí cuál fue el crimen de tu hermana Sodoma: la soberbia, la hartura de pan, el reposo ocioso que gozaron ella y sus hijas, y el no socorrer al pobre y al menesteroso. Behold, this was the iniquity of Sodom, your sister: arrogance, indulgence in bread and abundance, and the idleness of her and her daughters; and they did not reach out their hand to the needy and the poor.50Y así se ensoberbecieron, y cometieron lo que era abominable delante de Mí; por eso las quité de en medio conforme a lo que he visto. And they were exalted, and they committed abominations before me. And so I took them away, just as you have seen.51Samaria no cometió ni la mitad de tus pecados; al contrario, tú has cometido más abominaciones que tus hermanas, y las has justificado por medio de todas las abominaciones por ti cometidas. But Samaria has not committed even half of your sins. For you have exceeded them in your wickedness, and you have justified your sisters by all your abominations, which you have wrought.52Lleva tu ignominia, tú que has juzgado a tus hermanas, ya que por tus pecados te has mostrado más abominable que ellas, con lo cual son más justas que tú. Avergüénzate por tu parte, y lleva tu oprobio, por cuanto has justificado a tus hermanas. Therefore, you also bear your shame, for you have exceeded your sisters with your sins, acting more wickedly than they did. So they have been justified above you. By this also, you are confounded, and you bear your disgrace, for you have justified your sisters.53Mas Yo mudaré el cautiverio de ellas, el cautiverio de Sodoma y de sus hijas, el cautiverio de Samaria y de sus hijas, y también el cautiverio de tus cautivos juntamente con ellas, But I will convert and restore them, by converting Sodom with her daughters, and by converting Samaria and her daughters. And I will convert your return in their midst.54a fin de que lleves tu oprobio y te avergüences de todo lo que has hecho y les seas a ellas motivo de consuelo. So may you bear your disgrace and be confounded over all that you have done, consoling them.55Tu hermana Sodoma y sus hijas volverán a su antiguo estado; Samaria y sus hijas volverán a su antiguo estado. Así también tú y tus hijas volveréis a vuestro primer estado. And your sister Sodom and her daughters will return to their ancient state. And Samaria and her daughters will return to their ancient state. For thus says the Lord God: “I will act toward you, just as you have despised the oath, so that you would make void the covenant.60Pero me acordaré de la alianza que hice contigo en los días de tu mocedad, y estableceré contigo una alianza eterna. And I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth. And I will raise up for you an everlasting covenant.61Entonces te acordarás de tus caminos, y te avergonzarás cuando recibas a tus hermanas, tanto tus hermanas mayores como tus menores, que Yo te daré por hijas, pero no en virtud de tu alianza. And you shall remember your ways and be confounded, when you will have received your sisters, your elder with your younger. And I will give them to you as daughters, but not by your covenant.62Y estableceré contigo mi alianza, y conocerás que Yo soy Yahvé; And I will raise up my covenant with you. And you shall know that I am the Lord.63para que te acuerdes y te avergüences, y avergonzada no vuelvas más a abrir tu boca, cuando Yo te haya perdonado todo lo que has hecho”, dice Yahvé, el Señor. So may you remember and be confounded. And it will no longer be for you to open your mouth, because of your shame, when I will have been pacified toward you over all that you have done, says the Lord God.”
