Ezequiel 1
1EI año trigésimo, el día cinco del cuarto mes, estando yo en medio de los cautivos, junto al río Cobar, se abrieron los cielos, y tuve visiones de Dios. And it happened that, in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth of the month, when I was in the midst of the captives beside the river Chebar, the heavens were opened, and I saw the visions of God.2El día cinco del mes, en el año quinto de la deportación del rey Jeconías, On the fifth of the month, the same is the fifth year of the transmigration of king Joachin,3llegó la palabra de Yahvé al sacerdote Ezequiel, hijo de Buzí, en la tierra de los caldeos, junto al río Cobar; y estuvo allí sobre él la mano de Yahvé. the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel, a priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans, next to the river Chebar. And the hand of the Lord was over him there.4Miré y vi cómo venía del norte un torbellino, una gran nube y un fuego que se revolvía dentro de sí mismo. Alrededor de ello había un resplandor y en su centro algo semejante a un metal brillante que salía del medio del fuego. And I saw, and behold, a whirlwind arrived from the north. And a great cloud, wrapped in fire and brightness, was all around it. And from its midst, that is, from the midst of the fire, there was something with the appearance of amber.5En el medio había la figura de cuatro seres vivientes, cuyo aspecto era este: tenían semejanza de hombre; And in its midst, there was the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: the likeness of a man was in them.6y cada uno tenía cuatro caras, y cada uno cuatro alas. Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings.7Sus pies eran derechos, y la planta de sus pies como la planta del pie de un becerro; y despedían centellas cual bronce bruñido, Their feet were straight feet, and the sole of their foot was like the sole of the foot of a calf, and they sparkled with the appearance of glowing brass.8Tenían manos de hombre por debajo de sus alas a los cuatro lados; y (cada uno) de los cuatro tenía la (misma) cara y las (mismas) alas. And they had the hands of a man under their wings on the four sides. And they had faces with the wings on the four sides.9Sus alas se tocaban la una con la otra. Cuando caminaban no mudaban de frente; cada uno caminaba cara adelante. And their wings were joined to one another. They did not turn as they went. Instead, each one advanced before his face.10Sus caras tenían esta forma: cara de hombre (por delante) , tenían también, cada uno de los cuatro, cara de león, a la derecha; cara de toro, a la izquierda; y cara de águila (atrás). But as for the likeness of their face, there was the face of a man, and the face of a lion on the right of each of the four, then the face of an ox on the left of each of the four, and the face of an eagle above each of the four.11Sus caras y sus alas se extendían hacia arriba; cada cual tenía dos (alas) que se juntaban con las del otro, y dos cubrían su cuerpo. Their faces and their wings were extended above: two wings of each one were joined together, and two covered their bodies.12Y caminaba, cada cual, cara adelante, a donde los llevaba el espíritu allí andaban; no mudaban de frente al caminar. And each one of them advanced before his face. Wherever the impetus of the spirit was to go, there they went. And they did not turn as they advanced.13Estos animales tenían el aspecto de ascuas encendidas, semejantes a antorchas que como fuego resplandeciente discurrían por en medio de esos seres vivientes; y del fuego salían relámpagos. And as for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like that of burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps. This was the vision dashing in the midst of the living creatures, a bright fire, with lightning going forth from the fire.14Y los seres vivientes corrían y volvían cual fulgor de relámpago. And the living creatures went and returned like flashes of lightning.15Mientras yo contemplaba a los seres vivientes, divisé una rueda sobre la tierra, junto a (cada uno de) los seres vivientes, a sus cuatro lados. And as I beheld the living creatures, there appeared above the earth, next to the living creatures, one wheel having four faces.16Las ruedas y su forma eran semejantes a la piedra de Tarsis; una misma forma tenían las cuatro; y su aspecto y su estructura eran así como si una rueda estuviera atravesando a la otra. And the appearance of the wheels and their work was like the appearance of the sea. And each of the four were similar to one another. And their appearance and work was like a wheel in the center of a wheel.17Al caminar iban hacia los cuatro lados; no mudaban de frente al caminar. Going forth, they went by means of their four parts. And they did not turn as they went.18Sus llantas eran muy altas y causaban espanto; pues las llantas de las cuatro (ruedas) estaban llenas de ojos por todas partes. Also, the size and height and appearance of the wheels was dreadful. And the entire body was full of eyes all around each of the four.19Cuando caminaban los seres vivientes, caminaban igualmente las ruedas a su lado; y cuando los seres vivientes se alzaban de la tierra, se alzaban también las ruedas. And when the living creatures advanced, the wheels advanced together with them. And when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels, too, were lifted up at the same time.20Iban adonde los llevaba el espíritu, pues el espíritu los impelía, y las ruedas se alzaban juntamente con ellos; porque había en las ruedas espíritu de vida. Wherever the spirit went, as the spirit was going forth to that place, the wheels, too, were lifted up together, so as to follow them. For the spirit of life was in the wheels.21Al caminar ellos, caminaban también ellas, y al detenerse ellos se detenían igualmente ellas, y cuando ellos se alzaban de la tierra, se alzaban las ruedas juntamente con ellos; porque había espíritu de vida en las ruedas. When going forth, they went forth, and when standing still, they stood still. And when they were lifted up from the earth, the wheels, too, were lifted up together, so as to follow them. For the spirit of life was in the wheels.22Sobre las cabezas de los seres vivientes había algo semejante a un firmamento, como de cristal deslumbrante, que se extendía por encima de sus cabezas. And above the heads of the living creatures was the likeness of a firmament: similar to crystal, but dreadful to behold, and extending over their heads from above.23Y por debajo del firmamento se extendían sus alas, una frente a la otra; cada uno tenía dos por un lado y por el otro; las cuales les cubrían el cuerpo. And their wings were straight under the firmament, one toward the other. One of them was covered by two wings on his body, and the other was covered similarly.24Y oí el ruido de sus alas, cuando se movían, como estruendo de muchas aguas, como la voz del Todopoderoso; un estruendo tumultuoso, como el estruendo de un ejército. Cuando se detenían, plegaban sus alas; And I heard the sound of their wings, like the sound of many waters, like the sound of the sublime God. When they walked, it was like the sound of a multitude, like the sound of an army. And when they stood still, their wings were let down.25pues cuando salía una voz de encima del firmamento que estaba sobre sus cabezas, se detenían y plegaban sus alas. For when a voice came from above the firmament, which was over their heads, they stood still, and they put down their wings.26Sobre el firmamento que estaba encima de sus cabezas, había algo semejante a una piedra de zafiro, como un trono; y sobre esta especie de trono una figura semejante a un hombre (sentado) sobre él. And above the firmament, which was suspended over their heads, there was the likeness of a throne, with the appearance of the sapphire stone. And over the likeness of the throne, there was a likeness with the appearance of a man above it.27Dentro de él y alrededor de su cintura para arriba vi algo semejante a metal brillante, a manera de fuego, y desde la cintura abajo vi como un fuego que resplandecía, alrededor de él. And I saw something with the appearance of amber, with the likeness of fire within it and all around it. And from his waist and upward, and from his waist downward, I saw something with the appearance of fire shining all around.28Como el aspecto del arco que aparece en las nubes en día de lluvia, así era el aspecto del resplandor que le rodeaba. Tal fue el aspecto de la imagen de la gloria de Yahvé. Cuando la vi, me postré con el rostro en tierra, y oí la voz de uno que hablaba. There was the appearance of the rainbow, as when it is in a cloud on a rainy day. This was the appearance of the splendor on every side.
