Ezequiel 21
1Me fue dirigida la palabra de Yahvé, que dijo: And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:2“Hijo de hombre, vuelve tu rostro hacia Jerusalén, y derrama (tu palabra) contra los santuarios y profetiza contra la tierra de Israel. “Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and pour in drops toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the soil of Israel.3Dirás a la tierra de Israel: Así dice Yahvé: Mira, Yo vengo contra ti; desenvainaré mi espada y exterminaré en ti al justo y al inicuo. And you shall say to the land of Israel: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, and I will cast my sword from its sheath, and I will slay the just and the impious among you.4Y por cuanto voy a exterminar en ti al justo y al inicuo, por eso saldrá mi espada contra toda carne, desde el sur hasta el norte; But in as much as I have slain among you the just and the impious, for this reason my sword will go forth from its sheath against all flesh, from the south even to the north.5y conocerá toda carne que Yo, Yahvé, he sacado mi espada de la vaina, y no retornará más. So may all flesh know that I, the Lord, have led my sword out of its sheath irrevocably.6Gime oh hijo de hombre, con quebranto de lomos; gime con amargura a vista de ellos. And as for you, son of man, groan in the breaking of your back, and groan in bitterness before them.7Y cuando te pregunten: ¿Por qué gimes? contestarás: A causa de una noticia. Porque viene ya, y desmayará todo corazón, desfallecerán todos los brazos, decaerá todo espíritu y todas las rodillas se disolverán en agua. He aquí que viene; ya se cumple” —oráculo de Yahvé, el Señor. And when they will say to you, ‘Why are you groaning?’ you shall say: ‘On behalf of the report, for it is approaching. And every heart will waste away, and every hand will be broken, and every spirit will be weakened, and water will flow across every knee.’ Behold, it is approaching and it will happen, says the Lord God.”8Y me llegó la palabra de Yahvé, que dijo: And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:9“Hijo de hombre, profetiza y di: Así habla Yahvé, el Señor: Dirás: ¡La espada, la espada afilada y pulida! “Son of man, prophesy, and you shall say: Thus says the Lord God: Speak: The sword! The sword has been sharpened and polished!10Está afilada para hacer matanza; está pulida para brillar como relámpago. ¡Y nosotros nos regocijamos!, (diciendo): «El cetro de mi hijo se cree mejor que cualquier otro leño». It has been sharpened, so that it may cut down victims! It has been polished, so that it may shine! You are disturbing the scepter of my son. You have cut down every tree.11(Dios) La hizo pulir para empuñarla; esta espada ha sido afilada y pulida, para darla en mano del matador. And I have sent it to be made smooth, so that it may be handled. This sword has been sharpened, and it has been polished, so that it may be in the hand of the one who kills.12¡Grita y aúlla, oh hijo de hombre! Porque ella se dirige contra mi pueblo, contra todos los príncipes de Israel. Entregados han sido a la espada, juntamente con mi pueblo. Date, pues, golpes en el muslo. Cry out and wail, O son of man! For this has been done among my people, this is among all the leaders of Israel, who have fled. They have been handed over to the sword, with my people. Therefore, slap your thigh,13Está hecha ya la prueba; el cetro altanero ya no subsiste, dice Yahvé, el Señor. for it has been tested. And this one, when he will have overthrown the scepter, will not be, says the Lord God.14Tú oh hijo de hombre, vaticina, y bate una palma contra otra. ¡Duplique y triplique la espada sus golpes! You therefore, O son of man, prophesy, and strike hand against hand, and let the sword be doubled, and let the sword of the slain be tripled. Be sharpened! Go to the right or to the left, whichever way is the desire of your face.17Y también Yo batiré palmas, y desfogaré mi ira. Yo, Yahvé, he hablado. And then I will clap hand against hand, and I will fulfill my indignation. I, the Lord, have spoken.”18Y me llegó la palabra de Yahvé, que dijo: And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:19“Tú, hijo de hombre, diséñate dos caminos por donde pueda venir la espada del rey de Babilonia. Ambos han de salir de la misma tierra; y pon un indicador; ponlo al principio del camino (que conduce) a la ciudad. “And as for you, son of man, set for yourself two ways, so that the sword of the king of Babylon may approach. Both shall go forth from one land. And with a hand, he will grasp and cast lots; he will cast at the head of the way of the community.20Traza un camino por el cual la espada vaya a Rabbá de los hijos de Ammón, y otro hacia Judá, contra Jerusalén, la ciudad fuerte. You shall appoint a way, so that the sword may approach to Rabbah of the sons of Ammon, or to Judah, into Jerusalem, greatly fortified.21Porque el rey de Babilonia se ha detenido en el cruce, donde comienzan los dos caminos, para consultar los oráculos: sacudió las flechas, consultó a los ídolos domésticos, examinó el hígado (de las víctimas). For the king of Babylon stood at the fork, at the head of the two ways, seeking divination, shuffling arrows; he inquired of idols, and he consulted entrails.22El oráculo cayó sobre la derecha, sobre Jerusalén, para colocar los arietes, y abrir una entrada por medio de una brecha, para lanzar gritos de guerra, disponer los arietes contra las puertas, levantar terraplenes, y edificar torres. To his right was set the divination over Jerusalem, to place battering rams so as to open a mouth for the slaughter, to lift up the voice of wailing, to place battering rams opposite the gates, to cast up a rampart, to build fortifications.23A los (judíos) esto les parecerá un oráculo mentiroso, pues tienen en su favor juramentos solemnes, mas Él se acuerda de la iniquidad (de ellos) para prenderlos. And he shall be, in their eyes, like someone consulting an oracle in vain, or imitating the leisure of Sabbaths. But he will call to mind iniquities, so that it will be captured.24Por tanto, así dice Yahvé, el Señor: Porque habéis traído a mi memoria vuestra iniquidad, manifestando vuestras prevaricaciones y mostrando vuestros pecados a través de todas vuestras obras, por eso mismo que las habéis rememorado, seréis tomados presos. Therefore, thus says the Lord God: Because you have been remembered in your iniquities, and you have revealed your betrayals, and your sins have appeared within all your plans, because, I say, you have been remembered, you will be captured by a hand.25Y tú, oh profano e impío príncipe de Israel, para quien ha llegado ya el día en que la iniquidad se acaba, But as for you, O impious leader of Israel, whose day has arrived that was predetermined at the time of iniquity:26así dice Yahvé, el Señor: ¡Depón la tiara, quítate la corona! No es como antes. Será ensalzado lo humilde, y abatido lo alto. Thus says the Lord God: Take away the diadem, remove the crown. Is this not what has exalted the lowly one, and brought low the sublime one?27¡Ruina, ruina! Haré de ella ruina; ni siquiera esta subsistirá, hasta que venga Aquel cuyo es el derecho, y a quien Yo lo daré. Iniquity, iniquity, iniquity I will make it. And this was not done until the one arrived to whom judgment belongs, and I will hand it over to him.28Y tú, hijo de hombre, vaticina diciendo: Así habla Yahvé, el Señor, sobre los hijos de Ammón y sus insultos. Dirás: «¡La espada, desenvainada está la espada para la matanza, pulida está para devorar y a fin de relumbrar!» And as for you, son of man, prophesy, and say: Thus says the Lord God to the sons of Ammon, and to their disgrace, and you shall say: O sword, O sword, unsheathe yourself so as to slay; polish yourself so as to kill and to shine,29Te profetizaban vanidades, te vaticinaban mentiras, para hacerla caer sobre el cuello de los profanos, de los impíos, cuyo día ha llegado, el tiempo en que la iniquidad se acaba. while they look upon you in vain, and they divine lies, so that you may be given over to the necks of the wounded impious, whose day has arrived that was predetermined at the time of iniquity.30¡Vuélvela a su vaina! Te juzgaré en el lugar donde fuiste creado, en la tierra de tu nacimiento. Be returned to your sheath! I will judge you in the place where you were created, in the land of your nativity.31Derramaré sobre ti mi ira, soplaré contra ti el fuego de mi cólera; y te entregaré en manos de hombres bárbaros, maestros en matar. And I will pour out upon you my indignation. In the fire of my fury, I will fan you, and I will give you over to the hands of cruel men, who have devised destruction.32Serás pasto del fuego y tu sangre se derramará por el suelo. ¡No habrá más memoria de ti! Pues Yo, Yahvé, he hablado. You will be food for the fire; your blood will be in the midst of the land; you will be delivered to oblivion. For I, the Lord, have spoken.”
