1Me fue dirigida la palabra de Yahvé, que dijo: And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:2“Tú, hijo de hombre, ¿no vas a juzgar? ¿No quieres juzgar a la ciudad sanguinaria? ¿No le mostrarás todas sus abominaciones? “And you, son of man, should you not judge, should you not judge the city of blood?3Dirás: Así habla Yahvé, el Señor: Tú eres una ciudad, la cual derrama sangre dentro de sus propios muros, hasta que llegue su día, y que ha fabricado ídolos contra sí misma para contaminarse. And you shall reveal to her all her abominations. And you shall say: Thus says the Lord God: This is the city which sheds blood in her midst, so that her time may come, and which has made idols against herself, so that she may be defiled.4Por la sangre que has derramado, te has hecho culpable, y con los ídolos que has hecho te has contaminado; has apresurado tus días de castigo y has llegado al término de tus años. Por eso te he convertido en el oprobio de los gentiles y en el escarnio de todos los países. You have offended by your blood, which you shed from yourself. And you have been defiled by your idols which you yourself made. And you have caused your days to approach, and you have brought on the time of your years. Because of this, I have made you a disgrace to the Gentiles, and a derision to all the lands.5Los que están cerca de ti y los que están lejos, te insultan, porque con tu grande corrupción has manchado tu nombre. Those that are near and those that are far from you will triumph over you. You are filthy, infamous, great in destruction.6He aquí que los príncipes de Israel, cada cual según su poder, no hacen otra cosa que derramar sangre en medio de ti. Behold, the leaders of Israel have each used his arm to shed blood within you.7En ti se desprecia al padre y a la madre, y en ti tratan con violencia al extranjero, en ti oprimen al huérfano y a la viuda. They have abused father and mother within you. The new arrival has been oppressed in your midst. They have grieved the orphan and the widow among you.8Tu desprecias mi santuario y profanas mis sábados. You have spurned my sanctuaries, and you have defiled my Sabbaths.9Hay en ti hombres que usan de calumnias para derramar sangre, y en ti hay quienes banquetean sobre los montes; crímenes se cometen en medio de ti. Maligning men were within you, in order to shed blood, and they have eaten upon the mountains within you. They have worked wickedness in your midst.10En ti se descubre la desnudez del padre, y en ti se hace violencia a la mujer en la inmundicia de su impureza. They have uncovered the nakedness of their father within you. They have debased the uncleanness of the menstruous woman within you.11En ti uno comete abominación con la mujer de su prójimo, otro amancilla incestuosamente a su nuera, y otro hace violencia a su hermana, la hija de su padre. And each one has committed abomination with the wife of his neighbor. And the father-in-law has heinously defiled his daughter-in-law. The brother has oppressed his sister, the daughter of his father, within you.12En ti aceptan soborno para derramar sangre; tú cobras usura e interés, despojas a tus vecinos por medio de opresión, y a Mí me echaste en olvido, dice Yahvé, el Señor. They have accepted bribes among you to shed blood. You have received usury and superabundance, and in avarice you have oppressed your neighbors. And you have forgotten me, says the Lord God.13He aquí que Yo he batido mis palmas a causa de las ganancias injustas que has hecho y por la sangre que se ha derramado en ti. Behold, I have clapped my hands over your avarice, which you have worked, and over the blood that has been shed in your midst.14¿Podrá mantenerse firme tu corazón, o serán fuertes tus manos en los días que Yo te preparo? Yo, Yahvé, he hablado y cumpliré. How can your heart endure, or your hands prevail, in the days that I will bring upon you? I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will act.15Yo te dispersaré entre los gentiles, te desparramaré por los países y quitaré de ti tu inmundicia. And I will disperse you among the nations, and I will scatter you among the lands, and I will cause your uncleanness to fade away from you.16Serás profanada en tu propio país, a la vista de los gentiles; y conocerás que Yo soy Yahvé.” And I will possess you in the sight of the Gentiles. And you shall know that I am the Lord.”17Y me llegó la palabra de Yahvé en estos términos. And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:18“Hijo de hombre, la casa de Israel se me ha convertido en escoria; todos ellos son bronce, estaño, hierro y plomo en medio del horno; no son más que escoria de plata. “Son of man, the house of Israel has become like dross to me. All these are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead in the midst of the furnace; they have become like the dross of silver.19Por eso, así dice Yahvé, el Señor: Porque habéis venido a ser todos como escoria, por tanto, he aquí que Yo os recogeré en medio de Jerusalén. Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Since you have all turned into dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you together in the midst of Jerusalem,20Como quien reúne plata y bronce y hierro y plomo y estaño en medio del horno, y sopla allí el fuego para fundirlos, así Yo os juntaré en mi ira y mi indignación; os dejaré allí y os fundiré. just as they gather silver, and brass, and tin, and iron, and lead in the midst of the furnace, so that I may kindle in it a fire to melt it. So will I gather you together in my fury and in my wrath, and I will be quieted, and I will melt you down.21Os reuniré y soplaré sobre vosotros el fuego de mi ira, y en medio de (Jerusalén) seréis fundidos. And I will gather you together, and I will burn you in the fire of my fury, and you will be melted in its midst.22Como se derrite la plata en el horno, así seréis derretidos en medio de ella; y conoceréis que Yo, Yahvé, he derramado mi ira sobre vosotros.” Just as silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so will you be in its midst. And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I will have poured out my indignation upon you.”23Me fue dirigida la palabra de Yahvé, que dijo: And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:24“Hijo de hombre, dile a ella: Tú eres una tierra que no ha sido purificada y no ha sido lavada por la lluvia en el día de la indignación. “Son of man, say to her: You are a land unclean and not rained upon, in the day of fury.25Hay en medio de ella una conjuración de sus profetas. Como león rugiente que arrebata la presa, así devoran ellos las almas, se apoderan de los bienes y tesoros y multiplican el número de viudas en medio de ella. There is a conspiracy of prophets in her midst. Like a lion, roaring and seizing the prey, they have devoured souls. They have taken riches and a price. They have multiplied widows in her midst.26Sus sacerdotes violan mi Ley y profanan mi Santuario, no distinguen entre lo sagrado y lo profano, no enseñan a distinguir entre lo inmundo y lo puro, cierran sus ojos ante (las violaciones de) mis sábados, y Yo soy deshonrado entre ellos. Her priests have despised my law, and they have defiled my sanctuaries. They have held no distinction between holy and profane. And they have not understood the difference between defiled and clean. And they have averted their eyes from my Sabbaths. And I was profaned in their midst.27Sus príncipes están en medio de ella como lobos: arrebatan la presa para derramar sangre y destruir almas, con el fin de obtener ganancias injustas. Her leaders in her midst are like wolves seizing the prey: to shed blood, and to perish souls, and to continually pursue profit with avarice.28Sus profetas los revocan con barro, viendo vanidades y vaticinándoles mentiras, diciendo: «Así dice Yahvé, el Señor», cuando Yahvé no ha hablado. And her prophets have covered them without tempering the mortar, seeing emptiness, and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord has not spoken.29El pueblo del país practica la opresión y el robo, oprimiendo al pobre y al menesteroso y haciendo violencia e injusticia al extranjero. The people of the land have oppressed with slander and have seized with violence. They have afflicted the needy and the poor, and they have oppressed the new arrival by accusations without judgment.30Busqué entre ellos un varón que construyese un vallado, y que se pusiese en la brecha frente a Mí, en favor de la tierra, a fin de que Yo no la devastase; mas no lo hallé. And I sought among them for a man who might set up a hedge, and stand in the gap before me on behalf of the land, so that I might not destroy it; and I found no one.31Por eso derramaré sobre ellos mi cólera, los consumiré con el fuego de mi ira y echaré sus obras sobre su cabeza”, dice Yahvé, el Señor. And so I poured out my indignation upon them; in the fire of my wrath I consumed them. I have rendered their own way upon their head, says the Lord God.”
