Génesis 35
1Dijo Dios a Jacob: “Levántate, sube a Betel, donde habitarás, y construye allí un altar al Dios que se te apareció cuando ibas huyendo de Esaú, tu hermano. About this time, God said to Jacob, “Arise and go up to Bethel, and live there, and make an altar to God, who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.”2Dijo, pues, Jacob a su familia, y a todos los que con él estaban: “Apartad los dioses extraños que hay en medio de vosotros; purificaos y mudad vuestros vestidos. In truth, Jacob, having called together all his house, said: “Cast away the foreign gods that are in your midst and be cleansed, and also change your garments.3Nos levantaremos para subir a Betel, donde construiré un altar al Dios que me oyó en el día de mi angustia y me asistió en el camino por donde he andado.” Arise, and let us go up to Bethel, so that we may make an altar there to God, who heeded me in the day of my tribulation, and who accompanied me on my journey.”4Entonces entregaron a Jacob todos los dioses extraños que tenían, y los pendientes que traían en las orejas; y Jacob los escondió bajo la encina que está cerca de Siquem. Therefore, they gave him all the foreign gods which they had, and the earrings which were in their ears. About the same time, Deborah, the nurse of Rebekah, died, and she was buried at the base of Bethel, under an oak tree. And the name of that place was called, ‘Oak of Weeping.’9Apareciose Dios otra vez a Jacob después de su vuelta de Mesopotamia, y le bendijo. Then God appeared again to Jacob, after he returned from Mesopotamia of Syria, and he blessed him,10Dios le dijo: “Tu nombre es Jacob; pero ya no te llamarás Jacob; tu nombre será Israel.” Y le puso por nombre Israel. saying: “You will no longer be called Jacob, for your name shall be Israel.” And he called him Israel,11Y le dijo Dios: “Yo soy el Dios Omnipotente. Tribes and peoples of nations will be from you, and kings will go forth from your loins.12Y la tierra que di a Abrahán y a Isaac, te la daré a ti; a tu posteridad después de ti daré esta tierra.” And the land that I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give to you, and to your offspring after you.”13Y desapareció Dios de su presencia, en el lugar donde había hablado con él. Yet truly, his father called him Benjamin, that is, the son of the right hand.19Murió, pues, Raquel y fue sepultada en el camino de Efrata, que es Betlehem. And so Rachel died, and she was buried in the way that leads to Ephrath: this place is Bethlehem.20Erigió Jacob un monumento sobre su tumba, es el monumento de la tumba de Raquel hasta el día de hoy. And Jacob erected a monument over her sepulcher. This is the monument to Rachel’s tomb, even to the present day.21Partió Israel y asentó sus tiendas más allá de Migdal-Eder. The sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.25Hijos de Bilhá, sierva de Raquel: Dan y Neftalí. The sons of Bilhah, handmaid of Rachel: Dan and Naphtali.26Hijos de Silfá, sierva de Lía: Gad y Aser. Estos son los hijos de Jacob que le nacieron en Mesopotamia. The sons of Zilpah, handmaid of Leah: Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him in Mesopotamia of Syria.27Fue Jacob adonde vivía Isaac, su padre, a Mamré, a Quiriat Arbá, que es Hebrón, donde moraron como extranjeros Abrahán e Isaac. And then he went to his father Isaac in Mamre, the city of Arba: this place is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.28Fueron los días de Isaac ciento ochenta años. And the days of Isaac were completed: one hundred and eighty years.29Anciano y colmado de días expiró Isaac y murió, y fue reunido con su pueblo; le sepultaron sus hijos Esaú y Jacob. And being consumed by old age, he died. And he was placed with his people, being old and full of days. And his sons, Esau and Jacob, buried him.
