Ageo 1
1El año segundo del rey Darío, en el mes sexto, el día primero del mes, llegó la palabra de Yahvé por medio del profeta Ageo, a Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá, y a Jesús, hijo del Sumo Sacerdote Josedec, en estos términos: In the second year of king Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came, by the hand of Haggai the prophet, to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Jesus the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying:2“Así habla Yahvé de los ejércitos: Este pueblo dice: «No ha llegado aún el tiempo; el tiempo de reedificar la Casa de Yahvé».” Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying: This people claims that the time has not yet arrived for building the house of the Lord.3Entonces habló Yahvé, por medio del profeta Ageo, diciendo: But the word of the Lord came by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:4“¿Ha llegado acaso para vosotros el tiempo de habitar en vuestras casas artesonadas, en tanto que esta Casa está en ruinas? Is it time for you to dwell in paneled houses, while this house is deserted?5Pues, así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Reflexionad sobre vuestro proceder. And now, thus says the Lord of hosts: Set your hearts upon your ways.6Habéis sembrado mucho, y recogido poco; coméis, y no os hartáis; bebéis, y no apagáis la sed; os vestís, y no os calentáis; el que gana salario, lo echa en saco roto. You sowed much and have brought in little. You consumed and have not been satisfied. You drank and have not been inebriated. You covered yourselves and have not been warmed. And whoever gathered wages, has put them in a bag with holes.7Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Reflexionad sobre vuestro proceder. Thus says the Lord of hosts: Set your hearts upon your ways.8Subid al monte, traed maderas y reedificad la Casa, y Yo me complaceré en ella y seré glorificado, dice Yahvé. Ascend to the mountain, bring wood and build the house, and it shall be acceptable to me, and I shall be glorified, says the Lord.9Esperabais mucho, y he aquí que (cosechasteis) poco; y lo trajisteis a casa, mas Yo soplé en ello. ¿Por qué?, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos. Porque mi Casa está en ruinas, mientras cada uno de vosotros se da prisa para (reconstruir) su propia casa. You have looked for more, and behold, it became less, and you brought it home, and I blew it away. What is the cause of this, says the Lord of hosts? It is because my house is desolate, yet you have hurried, each one to his own house.10Por eso, por vuestra culpa el cielo detiene el rocío, y la tierra no da su fruto. Because of this, the heavens over you have been prohibited from giving dew, and the earth has been prohibited from giving her sprouts.11Pues Yo llamé la sequía sobre la tierra; sobre los montes y sobre el trigo; sobre el mosto y sobre el aceite; sobre cuanto produce la tierra; sobre los nombres y sobre las bestias, y sobre toda labor de manos. And I called a drought over the land, and over the mountains, and over the wheat, and over the wine, and over the oil, and whatever the soil would bring forth, and over men, and over beasts of burden, and over all the labor of hands.12Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, y el Sumo Sacerdote Jesús, hijo de Josedec, y todo el resto del pueblo, escucharon la voz de Yahvé, su Dios, y las palabras del profeta Ageo, todo lo que Yahvé, su Dios, le había encargado decir; y el pueblo temió a Yahvé. And Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jesus the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all the remnant of the people heeded the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, just as the Lord their God sent him to them. And the people were fearful before the face of the Lord.13Entonces Ageo, enviado de Dios, habló por orden de Yahvé al pueblo, diciendo: “Yo estoy con vosotros”, dice Yahvé. And Haggai, a messenger of the Lord among messengers of the Lord, spoke to the people, saying: the Lord says, “I am with you.”14Y despertó Yahvé el espíritu de Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá, y el espíritu de Jesús, hijo del Sumo Sacerdote Josedec, y el espíritu de todo el resto del pueblo; y vinieron y trabajaron en la reconstrucción de la Casa de Yahvé de los ejércitos, su Dios. And the Lord stirred the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Jesus the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of the remainder of all the people. And they entered and performed work in the house of the Lord of hosts their God.
