Oseas 11
1Al romper el alba no habrá más rey en Israel. Cuando Israel era niño, Yo lo amé, y de Egipto llamé a mi hijo. Just as the morning passes, so has the king of Israel passed by. For Israel was a child and I loved him; and out of Egypt I called my son.2Pero cuanto más se los llama, tanto más se alejan, sacrificando (víctimas) a los Baales, y quemando incienso a los ídolos, They called them, and so they departed before their face. They offered victims to the Baals, and they sacrificed to graven images.3Y fui Yo quien enseñé a andar a Efraím, Yo lo tomé de los brazos, pero ellos desconocieron que Yo los cuidaba. And I was like a foster father to Ephraim. I carried them in my arms. And they did not know that I healed them.4Yo los atraje con lazos de hombre, con vínculos de amor; fui para ellos como quien alza el yugo de sobre sus quijadas, y me incliné para darles de comer. I will draw them with the cords of Adam, with the bands of love. And I will be to them like one who raises the yoke over their jaws. And I will reach down to him so that he may eat.5(Israel) no volverá al país de Egipto, sino que el asirio será su rey, porque no han querido convertirse. He will not return to the land of Egypt, but Assur himself will be the king over him, because they were not willing to be converted.6La espada caerá sobre sus ciudades, y consumirá sus barras, y las devorará, a causa de sus malos designios. The sword has begun in his cities, and it will consume his elect and devour their heads.7Mi pueblo tiende a alejarse de Mí; se lo llama hacia arriba, pero ninguno quiere alzar la mirada. And my people will long for my return. But a yoke will be imposed on them together, which will not be taken away.8¿Cómo te podré abandonar, oh Efraím? ¿Cómo podré entregarte, oh Israel? ¿Podré acaso tratarte como Adama, hacerte como a Seboím? Se conmueve mi corazón dentro de Mí, a la par que se inflama mi compasión. How will I provide for you, Ephraim; how will I protect you, Israel? How will I provide for you as for Adam; will I set you like Zeboiim? My heart has changed within me; together with my regret, it has been stirred up.9No haré según el furor de mi ira, no volveré a destruir a Efraím; porque soy Dios, y no un hombre; soy el Santo que está en medio de ti; no vendré en ira. I will not act on the fury of my wrath. I will not turn back to utterly destroy Ephraim. For I am God, and not man, the Divine in your midst, and I will not advance upon the city.10Irán en pos de Yahvé, el cual rugirá como león; cuando Él levante su rugido, vendrán temblando sus hijos desde el occidente, They will walk after the Lord; he will roar like a lion. For he himself will roar, and the sons of the sea will dread.11Vendrán temblando, cual ave, desde Egipto, y como paloma, desde la tierra de Asiria; y Yo los restituiré a sus casas, dice Yahvé. And they will fly like a bird out of Egypt, and like a dove from the land of the Assyrians. And I will arrange them in their own houses, says the Lord.12Pero Efraím me tiene rodeado con mentiras, y la casa de Israel con fraude; Judá es infiel a su Dios, y al Santísimo, quien es tan fiel. Ephraim has besieged me with denials, and the house of Israel with deceit. But Judah went down as a witness before God and the holy ones of faith.
