Oseas 12
1Efraím se apacienta de viento, y corre tras el viento del oriente, todo el día está aumentando las mentiras y los actos de violencia; hace pacto con Asiria, y a Egipto lleva aceite. Ephraim feeds on wind and follows burning heat; all day long he multiplies lies and desolation. And he has entered into a pact with the Assyrians, and he has carried oil into Egypt.2También contra Judá se querellará Yahvé, y castigará a Jacob conforme a su conducta; según sus obras le retribuirá. Therefore, the judgment of the Lord is with Judah and a visitation is upon Jacob. He will repay him according to his ways and according to his inventions.3En el seno materno suplantó a su hermano, y en su edad madura luchó con Dios. In the womb, he supplanted his brother; for in his good fortune, he had been guided by an angel.4Luchó con el ángel, y prevaleció; lloró y le pidió gracia. En Betel le halló, y allí habló con nosotros. And he prevailed over an angel, for he had been strengthened. He wept and petitioned him. He found him in Bethel, and there he has spoken to us.5Yahvé que es el Dios de los ejércitos; Yahvé es su Nombre. And the Lord God of hosts, the Lord is his memorial.6“Conviértete a tu Dios; guarda la misericordia y la justicia, y espera siempre en tu Dios”. And so, you should convert to your God. Keep mercy and judgment, and have hope in your God always.7Siendo mercader, que tiene en sus manos balanza falsa, se complace en engañar. Canaan, in his hand is a deceitful balance, he has chosen false accusations.8Dice Efraím: “Con todo, me he hecho rico, he adquirido riquezas; con todas mis ganancias no se hallará en mí culpa que sea pecado.” And Ephraim has said, “Nevertheless, I have become rich; I have found an idol for myself. All of my labors will not reveal to me the iniquity that I have committed.”9Yo soy Yahvé, tu Dios, desde la tierra de Egipto; Yo haré que habites otra vez en tiendas, como en días de la fiesta. And I, the Lord your God from the land of Egypt, nevertheless will cause you to dwell in tabernacles, just as during the days of the feast.10Yo hablé a los profetas, haciéndoles ver muchas visiones; por medio de los profetas me he manifestado en parábolas. And I have spoken through the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and I have used parables through the hands of the prophets.11Si Galaad es vanidad, también ellos son vanidad. En Gálgala sacrifican toros, y sus altares son como montones de piedras en los surcos del campo. If Gilead is an idol, then they have been sacrificing cattle in Gilgal to no purpose. For even their altars are like clutter on the soil of the field.12Huyó Jacob al país de Siria, por una mujer Israel se hizo siervo, y por una esposa apacentó (ovejas). Jacob fled into the region of Syria, and Israel served like a wife, and was served by a wife.13Por mano de un profeta Yahvé sacó a Israel de Egipto, y lo salvó por medio de un profeta. Yet by a prophet the Lord led Israel out of Egypt, and he was served by a prophet.14Efraím ha provocado a su Señor con amargos pecados; por lo cual hará caer sobre él la sangre derramada, y le dará la paga por sus ultrajes. Ephraim has provoked me to wrath with his bitterness, and his blood will overcome him, and his Lord will requite him for his shamefulness.
