Oseas 9
1No te alegres, Israel, ni te goces como los gentiles, porque te prostituiste (apartándote) de tu Dios; codiciaste la paga de ramera en todas las eras de trigo. Do not choose to rejoice, Israel; do not celebrate as the crowds do. For you have been committing fornication against your God; you have loved a prize upon every threshing floor of wheat.2Por eso, era y lagar no les darán el sustento, y el mosto les fallará. The threshing floor and the oil press will not feed them, and the wine will deceive them.3No quedarán en la tierra de Yahvé; Efraím volverá a Egipto, y en Asiria comerán cosas inmundas. They will not dwell in the land of the Lord. Ephraim has been returned to Egypt, and he has eaten polluted things among the Assyrians.4Entonces ya no harán a Yahvé libaciones de vino, ni le serán aceptos sus sacrificios; serán para ellos como pan de luto; cualquiera que lo comiere, quedará contaminado: su pan será (solamente) para ellos, no entrará en la Casa de Yahvé. They will not offer a libation of wine to the Lord, and they will not please him. Their sacrifices will be like the bread of mourners. All those who eat it will be defiled. For their bread is of their soul; it will not enter into the house of the Lord.5¿Qué haréis en las fiestas, en los días solemnes de Yahvé? What will you do on the solemn day, on the day of the feast of the Lord?6Pues he aquí que habrán de salir de la (tierra) devastada; Egipto los recogerá, Menfis les dará sepultura. Sus preciosidades de plata las heredará la ortiga, y sus moradas el cardo. For, behold, they have been sent away by devastation. Egypt will gather them together; Memphis will bury them. Nettles will inherit their desired silver; the burr will be in their tabernacles.7Han llegado los días de la visita, han venido los días de la retribución; entonces Israel verá si el profeta es un insensato, el varón inspirado un loco, a causa de tu inmensa iniquidad, y por la enormidad de tu odio. The days of visitation have arrived; the days of retribution are here. Know this, Israel: that the prophet was foolish, the spiritual man was mad, because of the multitude of your iniquities and the great extent of your foolishness.8El atalaya de Efraím, el profeta, que esta con mi Dios, (halla) en todos sus caminos un lazo de cazador y la persecución en la casa de su Dios. The watcher of Ephraim was with my God. The prophet has become a snare of ruin over all his ways; insanity is in the house of his God.9Se han abismado en la perversidad como en los días de Gabaá; pero Él se acordará de su iniquidad y castigará sus pecados. They have sinned profoundly, just as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity, and he will repay their sin.10Como uvas en el desierto hallé a Israel; como higos tempranos, primicias de la higuera, vi a vuestros padres. Acudieron a Baalfegor, consagrándose al (ídolo) infame, y se hicieron abominables como aquello que amaban. I discovered Israel like grapes in the desert. Like the first fruits of the fig tree, I saw their fathers on the end of its branches. But they went in to Baal-peor, and they have been estranged by intermingling, and they have become abominable, just like the things that they chose to love.11La gloria de Efraím se volará como un ave; ya no habrá hijos, ni embarazo, ni concepción. Ephraim has chased away their glory like a bird: from birth, and from the womb, and from conception.12Y si criaren sus hijos, los privaré de ellos para que no haya hombres; pues ¡ay de ellos cuando Yo los abandone! And even if they should nurture their sons, I will make them without children among men. Yes, and woe to them, when I have withdrawn from them.13Efraím, según vi, es otra Tiro, plantado en hermoso país, Efraím sacará sus propios hijos para el matador. Ephraim, as I see it, was a Tyre, founded by beauty. And Ephraim will lead his sons to execution.14¡Dales, Yahvé! ¿Qué les darás? ¡Dales senos estériles y pechos enjutos! Give them, O Lord. What will you give them? Give them a womb without children, and dry breasts.15Toda su maldad está en Gálgala; allí les tomé aversión por la maldad de sus obras; los expulsaré de mi casa, no los amaré más; apóstatas son todos sus jefes. All their wickedness is in Gilgal, for I held them there, in their hatred. Because of the malice of their inventions, I will expel them from my house. I will no longer say that I love them; all their leaders have retreated.16Herido está Efraím, se ha secado su raíz, no dará más fruto; y si tuvieren hijos, Yo daré muerte a los amados (hijos) de su seno. Ephraim has been struck; their root has been dried out: by no means will they yield fruit. And even if they should conceive, I will execute the most beloved of their womb.17Los desechará mi Dios, porque no lo escucharon, e irán errantes entre las naciones. My God will cast them aside because they have not listened to him; and they will be wanderers among the nations.
