Isaías 3
1Porque he aquí que el Señor, Yahvé de los ejércitos, quitará a Jerusalén y a Judá toda clase de apoyo, todo sostén de pan y todo sostén de agua; For behold, the sovereign Lord of hosts will take away, from Jerusalem and from Judah, the powerful and the strong: all the strength from bread, and all the strength from water;2el héroe, el guerrero y el juez, el profeta, el adivino y el anciano, the strong man, and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, and the seer and the elder;3el jefe de cincuenta y el hombre de prestigio el consejero, el perito artífice y el hábil encantador. the leader over fifty and the honorable in appearance; and the counselor, and the wise among builders, and the skillful in mystical speech.4Les daré muchachuelos por príncipes, y reinarán sobre ellos algunos mozalbetes. And I will provide children as their leaders, and the effeminate will rule over them.5En el pueblo tiranizará el uno al otro, y cada cual a su vecino; el joven se precipitará sobre el anciano, y el villano sobre el noble. And the people will rush, man against man, and each one against his neighbor. The child shall rebel against the elder, and the ignoble against the noble.6Pues uno echará mano de otro en la casa de su padre (diciendo): “Tú tienes vestido, sé nuestro príncipe, y hazte cargo de esta ruina.” For a man will apprehend his brother, from the household of his own father, saying: “The vestment is yours. Be our leader, but let this ruin be under your hand.”7Pero él responderá en aquel día, diciendo: “Yo no soy médico, y en mi casa no hay pan ni ropa; no me hagáis príncipe del pueblo.” In that day, he will respond by saying: “I am not a healer, and there is no bread or vestment in my house. Do not choose to appoint me as a leader of the people.”8Pues Jerusalén está bamboleando, y Judá caerá, porque sus palabras y sus obras están contra Yahvé; así irritan ellos los ojos de su gloria. For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah has fallen, because their words and their plans are against the Lord, in order to provoke the eyes of his majesty.9El aspecto de su semblante da testimonio contra ellos; como Sodoma pregonan su pecado, y no lo encubren. ¡Ay de ellos! porque son ellos los causantes de su ruina. The acknowledgement of their countenance is their response. For they have proclaimed their own sin, like Sodom; and they have not concealed it. Woe to their souls! For evils are being repaid to them.10Decid al justo que le irá bien; pues comerá el fruto de sus obras. Tell the just man that it is well, for he shall eat from the fruit from his own plans.11pero ¡ay del malo! Mal le irá; porque le será retribuido según las obras de sus manos. Woe to the impious man immersed in evil! For retribution will be given to him from his own hands.12Mi pueblo está oprimido por caprichosos, y mujeres lo gobiernan. Pueblo mío, los que te guían te hacen errar y destruyen el camino por donde debes seguir. As for my people, their oppressors have despoiled them, and women have ruled over them. My people, who call you blessed, the same are deceiving you and disrupting the path of your steps.13Se levanta Yahvé para hacer justicia; se pone de pie para juzgar a los pueblos: The Lord stands for judgment, and he stands to judge the people.14Yahvé entrará en juicio con los ancianos de su pueblo y con sus príncipes: “Vosotros habéis devorado la viña, en vuestras casas están los despojos del pobre. The Lord will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and with their leaders. And in place of a sweet fragrance, there will be stench. And in place of a belt, there will be a rope. And in place of stylish hair, there will be baldness.
