Isaías 54

¹Regocíjate, estéril, tú que estabas sin hijos, prorrumpe en júbilo y gritos de alegría, tú que nunca estuviste de parto; pues son más numerosos los hijos de la abandonada que los hijos de aquella que tiene marido, dice Yahvé. Give praise, you who are barren and unable to conceive. Sing praise and make a joyful noise, you who have not given birth. For many are the children of the desolate, more so than of her who has a husband, says the Lord.²Dilata el lugar de tu tienda, que se hagan más anchas las pieles de tu pabellón; no seas parca en ello, alarga tus cuerdas, y afianza tus estacas. Enlarge the place of your tent and extend the skins of your tabernacles, unsparingly. Lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes.³Pues te extenderás a la derecha y a la izquierda; porque tu prole poseerá las naciones, y poblará las ciudades desoladas. For you shall extend to the right and to the left. And your offspring shall inherit the nations, and you shall inhabit the desolate cities.⁴No temas, pues no quedarás confundida; no te avergüences, porque no tendrás de qué avergonzarte. Te olvidarás de la vergüenza de tu juventud, y no te acordarás más del oprobio de tu viudez. Do not be afraid! For you will not be confounded, and you will not blush. And you will not be put to shame, because you shall forget the confusion of your youth, and you shall no longer remember the disgrace of your widowhood.⁵Porque esposo tuyo es tu Creador, cuyo nombre es Yahvé de los ejércitos, y tú redentor es el Santo de Israel, que se llama Dios de toda la tierra. For the One who made you will rule over you. The Lord of hosts is his name. And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, will be called the God of all the earth.⁶Pues Yahvé te ha llamado (de nuevo) como a una mujer abandonada y afligida de espíritu, como a la esposa de la juventud que ha sido repudiada, dice tu Dios. For the Lord has called you, like a woman forsaken and mourning in spirit, and like a wife rejected in her youth, said your God.⁷Por un breve momento te abandoné; mas con gran misericordia te acogeré de nuevo. For a brief moment, I have forsaken you, and with great pities, I will gather you.⁸En un desborde de ira te oculté por un instante mi rostro; pero con eterna misericordia tuve compasión de ti, dice Yahvé, tu Redentor. In a moment of indignation, I have hidden my face from you, for a little while. But with everlasting mercy, I have taken pity on you, said your Redeemer, the Lord.⁹Pues esto es para Mí (como lo de) las aguas de Noé, cuando juré que las aguas de Noé no inundarían más la tierra; así he jurado no enfurecerme más contra ti, ni amenazarte. For me, it is just as in the days of Noah, to whom I swore that I would no longer bring in the waters of Noah over the earth. Thus have I sworn not to be angry with you, and not to rebuke you.¹⁰Aun cuando se muevan los montes y vacilen los collados, mi misericordia no se alejará de ti, y no vacilará mi alianza de paz, dice el que se compadece de ti, Yahvé. For the mountains will be moved, and the hills will tremble. But my mercy will not depart from you, and the covenant of my peace will not be shaken, said the Lord, who has compassion on you.¹¹Pobrecita, azotada por la tempestad, y que estás sin consuelo, he aquí que Yo asentaré tus piedras sobre carbunclos, y te cimentaré sobre zafiros. O poor little ones, convulsed by the tempest, away from any consolation! Behold, I will set your stones in order, and I will lay your foundation with sapphires,¹²Construiré tus almenas con rubíes, tus puertas con piedras de cristal; y toda tu muralla con piedras preciosas. and I will make your ramparts out of jasper, and your gates out of sculpted stones, and all your borders out of desirable stones.¹³Todos tus hijos serán instruidos por Yahvé, y gozarán de abundancia de paz. All your children will be taught by the Lord. And great will be the peace of your children.¹⁴Serás restablecida en justicia; y estarás lejos de la opresión, pues nada tendrás que temer; y lejos del espanto, el cual no te alcanzará más. And you will be founded in justice. Depart far from oppression, for you will not be afraid. And depart from terror, for it will not approach you.¹⁵Si (enemigos) se juntan contra ti, no es de parte mía; cuantos se juntaren contra ti, delante de ti caerán. Behold, a settler will arrive, who was not with me, a certain new arrival will be joined to you.¹⁶He aquí que Yo he hecho al herrero, que sopla las brasas del fuego y forja el arma para su obra. Yo he hecho también al devastador para destruir. Behold, I created the smith who fans the coals of the fire and produces an object by his work, and I have created the slayer who destroys.¹⁷Toda arma forjada contra ti será ineficaz, y tú condenarás toda lengua que se mueva para juzgarte. Esta es la herencia de los siervos de Yahvé y la justicia que de Mí les vendrá —oráculo de Yahvé. No object which has been formed to use against you will succeed. And every tongue that resists you in judgment, you shall judge. This is the inheritance of the servants of the Lord, and this is their justice with me, says the Lord.
