Isaías 55
1¡Oh vosotros, sedientos todos, venid a las aguas! Venid también los que no tenéis dinero, comprad y comed; sí, venid y comprad, sin dinero y sin pago, vino y leche. All you who thirst, come to the waters. And you who have no money: hurry, buy and eat. Approach, buy wine and milk, without money and without barter.2¿Por qué pagáis dinero por lo que no es pan, y os fatigáis por lo que no puede saciaros? ¡Escuchadme con atención y comeréis lo que es bueno, y vuestra alma se recreará con pingües manjares! Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and expend your labor for what does not satisfy? Listen very closely to me, and eat what is good, and then your soul will be delighted by a full measure.3Prestad vuestro oído y venid a Mí; escuchad, y vivirá vuestra alma, y Yo haré con vosotros una alianza eterna (según) las misericordiosas promesas dadas a David. Incline your ear and draw near to me. Listen, and your soul will live. And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, by the faithful mercies of David.4Mira, Yo le he constituido como testigo para los pueblos, como caudillo y maestro de las naciones. Behold, I have presented him as a witness to the people, as a commander and instructor to the nations.5He aquí que llamarás a pueblos que no conocías, y naciones que te eran desconocidas correrán hacia ti por amor de Yahvé, tu Dios, y del Santo de Israel, pues Él te ha glorificado. Behold, you will call to a nation that you did not know. And nations that did not know you will rush to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel. For he has glorified you.6Buscad a Yahvé mientras puede ser hallado, invocadle mientras está cerca. Seek the Lord, while he is able to be found. Call upon him, while he is near.7Deje el impío su camino, y el hombre inicuo sus designios, y conviértase a Yahvé, que tendrá de él misericordia, y a nuestro Dios, porque es rico en perdonar. Let the impious one abandon his way, and the iniquitous man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord, and he will take pity on him, and to our God, for he is great in forgiveness.8Pues mis pensamientos no son vuestros pensamientos, y vuestros caminos no son mis caminos, dice Yahvé. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways, says the Lord.9Así como el cielo es más alto que la tierra, así mis caminos son más altos que vuestros caminos, y mis pensamientos que vuestros pensamientos. For just as the heavens are exalted above the earth, so also are my ways exalted above your ways, and my thoughts above your thoughts.10Como la lluvia y la nieve bajan del cielo, y no vuelven allá, sino que empapan la tierra, y la fecundan y hacen germinar, para que dé simiente al que siembra, y pan al que come; And in the same manner as rain and snow descend from heaven, and no longer return there, but soak the earth, and water it, and cause it to bloom and to provide seed to the sower and bread to the hungry,11así será la palabra mía que sale de mi boca: no volverá a Mí sin fruto, sin haber obrado lo que Yo quería, y ejecutado aquellas cosas que Yo le ordenara. so also will my word be, which will go forth from my mouth. It will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish whatever I will, and it will prosper in the tasks for which I sent it.12Partiréis con gozo, y en paz seréis conducidos; los montes y los collados os aclamarán con júbilo, y todos los árboles del campo batirán palmas. For you will go forth rejoicing, and you will be led forward in peace. The mountains and the hills will sing praise before you, and all the trees of the countryside will clap their hands.13En vez de los espinos crecerá el abeto, y en lugar de la zarza, el mirto; y será esto para gloria de Yahvé, para señal eterna que jamás desaparecerá. In place of the shrub, the pine tree will arise, and in place of the nettle, the myrtle tree will grow. And the Lord will be named with an eternal sign, which will not be taken away.
