Isaías 66
1Así dice Yahvé: “El cielo es mi trono, y la tierra el escabel de mis pies. ¿Qué casa podríais construir para Mí? ¿y qué lugar para mi descanso? Thus says the Lord: Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What is this house that you would build for me? And what is this place of my rest?2Todas estas cosas las hizo mi mano, y así existen todas —oráculo de Yahvé—. He aquí en quien Yo pongo mis ojos: en el que es humilde y contrito de espíritu, y que teme mi palabra. My hand has made all these things, and all these things have been made, says the Lord. But upon whom will I look with favor, except upon a poor little one, who is contrite in spirit, and who trembles at my words?3Hay quien degüella un toro, y (a la vez) mata a un hombre; quien sacrifica una oveja y (a la vez) descabeza a un perro; quien hace una ofrenda, y ofrece sangre de cerdo; quien quema incienso y bendice a un ídolo. Así se han escogido sus propios caminos, y su alma se deleita en sus abominaciones. Whoever immolates an ox, it is as if he slaughters a man. Whoever sacrifices a sheep, it is as if he is smashing the head of a dog. Whoever offers an oblation, it is as if he is offering swine’s blood. Whoever makes remembrance with incense, it is as if he is blessing an idol. All these things, they have chosen according to their own ways, and their soul has taken delight in their own abominations.4Por eso también Yo escogeré para ellos los males, y haré que les sobrevengan las cosas que temen; ya que llamé y no hubo quien respondiese; hablé y no escucharon; sino que hicieron lo que era malo a mis ojos, y escogieron lo que Yo reprobaba.” Therefore, I also will choose their illusions, and I will lead over them the things that they feared. For I called, and there was no one who would respond. I have spoken, and they have not listened. And they have done evil in my eyes; and what I did not will, they have chosen.5Oíd la voz de Yahvé, los que teméis su palabra. Vuestros hermanos que os odian, y os desechan por causa de mi nombre, dicen: “Que Yahvé muestre su gloria, para que podamos ver vuestra alegría”; pero quedarán avergonzados. Listen to the word of the Lord, you who tremble at his word. Your brothers, who hate you and who cast you out because of my name, have said: “Let the Lord be glorified, and we will see by your rejoicing.” But they themselves will be confounded.6¡Voz de alboroto que procede de la ciudad, voz que procede del Templo! ¡(Es la) voz de Yahvé que da el pago a sus enemigos! A voice of the people from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the Lord repaying retribution to his enemies!7Antes de estar de parto ella ha dado a luz; antes que le sobreviniesen los dolores ha dado a luz un hijo varón. Before she was in labor, she gave birth. Before her time arrived for delivery, she gave birth to a male child.8¿Quién oyó jamás cosa tal? ¿Quién vio cosa semejante? ¿Un país se hace acaso en un día? ¿O nace una nación de una vez? Pues antes de sentir los dolores Sión dio a luz a sus hijos. Who has ever heard of such a thing? And who has seen anything like this? Will the earth give birth in one day? Or will a nation be born all at once? For Zion has been in labor, and she has given birth to her sons.9“¿Acaso voy a abrir Yo (el seno materno) para no dejarlo dar a luz?” dice Yahvé. “¿O lo cerraré acaso Yo, el que hace dar a luz?” dice tu Dios. Will I, who causes others to give birth, not also give birth myself, says the Lord? Will I, who bestows generation upon others, be barren myself, says the Lord your God?10¡Regocijaos con Jerusalén y alegraos en ella, todos los que la amáis! Exultad con ella cuantos por ella estáis llorando, Rejoice with Jerusalem, and exult in her, all you who love her! Rejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her!11para que maméis hasta saciaros de los pechos de sus consolaciones; para que sorbáis con fruición la abundancia de su gloria. So may you nurse and be filled, from the breasts of her consolations. So may you receive milk and overflow with delights, from every portion of her glory.12Porque así dice Yahvé: “He aquí que voy a derramar sobre ella la paz como un río, y, como un torrente desbordado, la gloria de los gentiles. Vosotros chuparéis su leche; seréis llevados en brazos y acariciados sobre rodillas. For thus says the Lord: Behold, I will turn a river of peace toward her, with an inundating torrent: the glory of the Gentiles, from which you will nurse. You will be carried at the breasts, and they will caress you upon the knees.13Como aquel a quien consuela su madre, así os consolaré Yo a vosotros; seréis consolados en Jerusalén. In the manner of one whom a mother caresses, so will I console you. And you will be consoled in Jerusalem.14Al verlo realizado se alborozará vuestro corazón, y vuestros huesos florecerán como la hierba; se hará manifiesta la mano de Yahvé en favor de sus siervos, y su indignación contra sus enemigos. You will see, and your heart will be glad, and your bones will flourish like a plant, and the hand of the Lord will be known to his servants, and he will be angry with his enemies.15Pues he aquí que Yahvé viene en medio del fuego, y en su carroza semejante a torbellino, para derramar su ira con furor, y su vindicta mediante llamas de fuego. For behold, the Lord will arrive with fire, and his four-horse chariots will be like a whirlwind: to render his wrath with indignation, and his rebuke with flames of fire.16Pues Yahvé va a ejercer el juicio con fuego, y con su espada sobre toda carne; y serán muchos los que perecerán por la mano de Yahvé. For the Lord will divide with fire, and with his sword among all flesh, and those slain by the Lord will be many.17Los que se santifican y purifican para (el culto en) los huertos, (yendo) tras un mistagogo, los que comen carne de cerdo, manjares abominables y ratones, perecerán todos, dice Yahvé; Those who were sanctified, who thought themselves to be clean in the gardens behind the inner gate, who were eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse: they will be consumed all at once, says the Lord.18porque (Yo conozco) sus obras y sus designios. Ha venido (el tiempo) de congregar todas las naciones y lenguas; y vendrán y verán mi gloria. But I know their works and their thoughts. I am arriving, so that I may gather them together with all nations and languages. And they will approach, and they will see my glory.19Pondré en medio de ellos una señal, y enviaré sus sobrevivientes a las naciones, a Tarsis, a Pul, a Lud, a Mósoc, a Rosch, a Tubal y a Javán, a las islas remotas que no han oído hablar de Mí, ni han visto la gloria mía; ellos anunciarán mi gloria entre los gentiles. And I will set a sign among them. And I will send some of those who will have been saved to the Gentiles in the sea, to Africa, and to those who draw the bow in Lydia, to Italy and Greece, to islands far away, to those who have not heard of me, and to those who have not seen my glory. And they will announce my glory to the Gentiles.20De entre todas las naciones traerán a todos vuestros hermanos, como ofrenda a Yahvé, a caballo, en carros, en literas, en mulos y en dromedarios, a mi santo monte, a Jerusalén, dice Yahvé; de igual modo que los hijos de Israel traen la ofrenda, en vaso limpio, a la Casa de Yahvé. And they will lead all of your brothers from all of the Gentiles as a gift to the Lord, on horses, and in four-horse chariots, and on stretchers, and on mules, and in coaches, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, in the same manner that the sons of Israel would carry an offering in a pure vessel into the house of the Lord.21Y de entre ellos tomaré también a algunos para sacerdotes y levitas, dice Yahvé. And I will take from them to be priests and Levites, says the Lord.22Porque así como los nuevos cielos y la nueva tierra que voy a hacer, subsistirán ante Mí, dice Yahvé, así subsistirá vuestro linaje y vuestro nombre. For in like manner as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will cause to stand before me, says the Lord, so will your offspring and your name stand.23Y de neomenia en neomenia, y de sábado en sábado, vendrá toda carne para postrarse delante de Mí, dice Yahvé And there will be month after month, and Sabbath after Sabbath. And all flesh will approach, so as to adore before my face, says the Lord.24Y saldrán, y verán los cadáveres de los hombres que se rebelaron contra Mí; cuyo gusano nunca morirá, y cuyo fuego nunca se apagará; y serán objeto de horror para todos los hombres. And they will go out, and they will view the carcasses of the men who have transgressed against me. Their worm will not die, and their fire will not be extinguished. And they will be a sight to all flesh even unto revulsion.
