Because of this, thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, to the shepherds who pasture my people: You have scattered my flock, and you have driven them away, and you have not visited them. Behold, I will visit upon you because of your evil pursuits, says the Lord.3Yo mismo reuniré el resto de mis ovejas, de todos los países donde las he dispersado, y las haré volver a sus prados, y crecerán y se multiplicarán. And I will gather together the remnant of my flock from the entire earth, from the places to which I had cast them out. And I will return them to their own fields. And they will increase and be multiplied.4Les suscitaré pastores que las apacienten; no temerán más, ni tendrán que temblar; y no faltará ninguna de ellas, dice Yahvé. And I will raise up shepherds over them, and they will pasture them. They will no longer dread, and they will no longer fear. And no one among their number will be seeking more, says the Lord.5He aquí que vienen días, dice Yahvé, en que suscitaré a David un Vástago justo, que reinará como rey, y será sabio, y ejecutará el derecho y la justicia en la tierra. Behold, the days are approaching, says the Lord, when I will raise up to David a righteous branch. And a king will reign, and he will be wise. And he will exercise judgment and justice upon the earth.6En sus días Judá será salvo, e Israel habitará en paz, y el nombre con que será llamado, es este: “Yahvé, justicia nuestra.” In those days, Judah will be saved, and Israel will live in confidence. And this is the name that they will call him: ‘The Lord, our Just One.’7Por eso, he aquí que vendrán días, dice Yahvé, en que ya no se dirá: «¡Vive Yahvé, que sacó a los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto!», Because of this, behold, the days are approaching, says the Lord, when they will no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives, who led the sons of Israel away from the land of Egypt,’8sino: “¡Vive Yahvé, que sacó y trajo a los hijos de la casa de Israel de la tierra del Norte y de todos los países adonde Yo los había arrojado.” Y habitarán en su propia tierra. but instead, ‘As the Lord lives, who led away and brought back the offspring of the house of Israel from the land of the north and from the entire earth,’ from the places to which I had cast them out. And they will live in their own land.”9A los profetas: Se me parte el corazón en mi pecho, tiemblan todos mis huesos; ante Yahvé y su santa palabra estoy como un ebrio, como un hombre embriagado de vino. To the prophets: “My heart is crushed within me. All my bones are trembling. I have become like an inebriated man, and like a man maddened by wine, before the face of the Lord, and before the face of his holy words.10Pues el país está atestado de adúlteros; a causa de la maldición la tierra está de luto, y se han secado los pastos del desierto; su carrera se dirige hacia el mal, y su fuerza consiste en hacer lo que no es recto. For the earth is full of adulterers! And the earth has mourned before the face of evil talk. The plains of the desert have dried up, and their course has become hazardous, and their firmness has become uneven.”11“Porque tanto el profeta como el sacerdote han apostatado, hasta en mi Casa he encontrado su malicia, dice Yahvé. “For both the prophet and the priest have become polluted, and I have found their wickedness within my own house, says the Lord.12Por eso su camino les será un resbaladero en medio de tinieblas; serán empujados, de modo que caigan en él; pues haré venir sobre ellos la calamidad en el año en que Yo les visite, dice Yahvé. For this reason, their way will be like a slippery path in the dark. For they will be impelled forward, and they will fall in it. For I will bring evils over them, in the year of their visitation, says the Lord.13En los profetas de Samaria he visto cosas insensatas, profetizaban por Baal, e hicieron errar a Israel, mi pueblo. And I have seen the foolishness of the prophets of Samaria. They have prophesied in Baal, and they have deceived my people Israel.14Pero en los profetas de Jerusalén he visto lo más horrible: cometen adulterio, practican la mentira, y dan su apoyo a los malhechores, para que nadie se convierta de su maldad. Todos ellos son para Mí como Sodoma, y sus habitantes como Gomorra.” And in the prophets of Jerusalem, I have seen the likeness of adulterers and the path of falsehood. And they have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that each one would not convert from his malice. They have all become to me like Sodom, and its inhabitants have become like Gomorrah.”15Por tanto, así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos contra los profetas: “He aquí que les daré para comida ajenjo, y para bebida agua envenenada, porque de los profetas de Jerusalén la impiedad se ha difundido sobre todo el país. Because of this, thus says the Lord of hosts to the prophets: “Behold, I will feed them absinthe, and I will give them gall to drink. For from the prophets of Jerusalem corruption has gone forth over the entire earth.”16Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: No escuchéis las palabras de los profetas que os profetizan; os embaucan, os cuentan las visiones de su imaginación, que no son de la boca de Yahvé. Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not choose to listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you and deceive you. They speak a vision from their own heart, and not from the mouth of the Lord.17Repiten a los que me desprecian: «Yahvé ha dicho: Tendréis paz»; y a cuantos siguen su obstinado corazón les dicen: «Ningún mal vendrá sobre vosotros.» To those who blaspheme me, they say: ‘The Lord has said: You shall have peace.’ And to everyone who walks in the depravity of his own heart, they have said: ‘No evil will overwhelm you.’ ”18¿Quién (de ellos) asistió al consejo de Yahvé, vio y oyó su palabra? ¿Quién prestó oído para escuchar lo que Él dijo? For who has been present in the counsel of the Lord, and who has seen and heard his word? Who has considered his word and heard it?19Ved que de Yahvé viene un furioso torbellino, una tempestad impetuosa, que descargará sobre la cabeza de los impíos. Behold, the whirlwind of the Lord’s indignation will go forth, and a tempest will break out; it will overwhelm the head of the impious.20No cesará la ira de Yahvé, hasta que ejecute y cumpla los designios de su corazón. Al fin de los tiempos lo comprenderéis. The fury of the Lord will not return until it succeeds, and until it completes the plan of his heart. In the last days, you will understand this counsel.21Yo no enviaba a esos profetas, ellos (de suyo) corrían; Yo no les hablaba, y sin embargo profetizaban. “I did not send these prophets, yet they hurry forward. I was not speaking to them, yet they were prophesying.22Si han asistido a mi consejo, que comuniquen mis palabras a mi pueblo, y lo conviertan de su mal camino, y de la maldad de sus obras. If they had stood in my counsel, and if I had made my words known to my people, certainly I would have turned them away from their evil ways and from their most wicked plans.23¿Soy Yo Dios solo de cerca? dice Yahvé. ¿No soy también Dios de lejos? Do you not realize that I am a God close by, says the Lord, and not a God far away?24¿Acaso un hombre puede ocultarse en escondrijo alguno, sin que lo vea Yo? dice Yahvé. ¿No lleno Yo el cielo y la tierra? dice Yahvé. If a man is hidden in concealed places, do I not see him, says the Lord? Do I not fill up heaven and earth, says the Lord?25He oído lo que dicen los profetas, los que en mi nombre profetizan mentiras, diciendo: «He tenido un sueño, he tenido un sueño.» I have heard what the prophets have said, prophesying falsehoods in my name, and also saying: ‘I have dreamed! I have dreamed!’26¿Hasta cuándo ha de durar esto en el corazón de esos profetas que profetizan mentiras, y presentan como vaticinios las imposturas de su corazón? How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who predict what is false, and who prophesy deceptions from their own heart?27Por sus sueños que unos a otros se van contando, quieren que mi pueblo olvide mi nombre, como sus padres olvidaron mi nombre por amor de Baal. They want to cause my people to forget my name, by means of their dreams, which each of them describes to his neighbor, just as their fathers forgot my name for the sake of Baal.28El profeta que tenga un sueño cuente el sueño; y el que reciba palabra mía, proclame mi palabra con fidelidad. ¿Qué tiene que ver la paja con el trigo? dice Yahvé. The prophet who has had a dream, let him describe the dream. And he who receives my word, let him speak my word in truth. For what has the chaff to do with the wheat, says the Lord?29¿No es mi palabra como fuego, dice Yahvé, y como martillo que quebranta la roca? Are not my words like a fire, says the Lord, and like a hammer crushing rock?30Por eso, he aquí que estoy contra esos profetas, dice Yahvé, que se roban mutuamente mis palabras. Therefore, behold: I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who steal my words, each one from his neighbor.31He aquí que estoy contra esos profetas, dice Yahvé, que se valen de sus lenguas para hablar en tono de oráculo. Behold, I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who take up their tongues and say: ‘The Lord says it.’32He aquí que estoy contra esos profetas que sueñan mentiras, dice Yahvé, y contándolos extravían con sus mentiras y fanfarronadas a mi pueblo. Yo no los he enviado ni les he dado orden alguna. De ninguna manera aprovechan a este pueblo, dice Yahvé. Behold, I am against the prophets, who dream what is false, says the Lord; who explain and so seduce my people with their falsehoods and with their miracles, though I did not send them, nor did I command them. They have offered nothing beneficial to this people, says the Lord.33Cuando te preguntare este pueblo, o un profeta, o un sacerdote, diciendo: «¿Cuál es la carga de Yahvé?» les responderás: La carga sois vosotros, y Yo os desecharé, dice Yahvé. Therefore, if this people, or a prophet, or a priest questions you, saying, ‘What is the burden of the Lord?’ you shall say to them, ‘You are the burden. And certainly I will cast you away, says the Lord.’34Y si el profeta, o el sacerdote, o el pueblo, dijere: «Carga de Yahvé», Yo castigaré a tal hombre y a su casa. And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people who say, ‘The burden of the Lord!’ I will visit upon that man and upon his house.35Así habéis de decir cada uno a su compañero, y cada cual a su hermano: «¿Qué ha respondido Yahvé?» «¿Qué dijo Yahvé?» And then you will speak in this way, each one to his neighbor and to his brother: ‘What has the Lord answered? And what has the Lord said?’36Mas no digáis más «Carga de Yahvé», pues la carga de cada cual será su propia palabra; ya que habéis pervertido las palabras del Dios vivo, Yahvé de los ejércitos, nuestro Dios. And the burden of the Lord will no longer be called to mind. For each one’s own word will be a burden. For you have perverted the words of the living God, of the Lord of hosts, our God.37Así has de preguntar al profeta: «¿Qué te ha respondido Yahvé?», «¿Qué es lo que dijo Yahvé?» And then you will speak in this way to the prophet: ‘What has the Lord answered you? And what has the Lord spoken?’38Pero si decís: «Carga de Yahvé», entonces, así dice Yahvé: Porque decís todavía esta palabra: «Carga de Yahvé», después de haberos Yo prohibido decir: «Carga de Yahvé», But if you say, ‘The burden of the Lord!’ then because of this, thus says the Lord: Since you have spoken this word, ‘The burden of the Lord!’ though I sent to you telling you not to say: ‘The burden of the Lord,’39por eso he aquí que os olvidaré del todo, y os desecharé, al par que la ciudad que di a vosotros y a vuestros padres; because of this, behold, I will take you away, like a burden, and I will forsake you, as well as the city that I gave to you and to your fathers, before my face.40y traeré sobre vosotros oprobio sempiterno, ignominia eterna, cuya memoria nunca se borrará.” And I will give you over to an everlasting reproach and an eternal disgrace, which shall never be wiped away into oblivion.”
