Jeremías 25
1He aquí el oráculo que Jeremías recibió acerca de todo el pueblo de Judá, el año cuarto de Joakim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, que corresponde al año primero de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia. The word that came to Jeremiah about all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, the king of Judah. The same is the first year of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon.2Jeremías el profeta lo anunció a todo el pueblo de Judá, y a todos los habitantes de Jerusalén, diciendo: And the prophet Jeremiah spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying:3“Desde el año trece de Josías, hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, hasta este día, durante veintitrés años, me ha sido revelada la palabra de Yahvé y yo os la he predicado sin demora; mas no habéis escuchado. “From the thirteenth year of Josiah, the son of Amon, the king of Judah, even until this day, which is the twenty-third year, the word of the Lord has been given to me, and I have spoken to you, rising while it was still night, and speaking, and yet you have not listened.4Yahvé se apresuró a mandaros todos sus siervos, los profetas, pero vosotros no escuchasteis, ni siquiera inclinasteis vuestros oídos para escuchar. And the Lord has sent to you all his servants, the prophets, rising at first light, and sending, and yet you have not listened, and you have not inclined your ears, so that you would hear,5Os decía: «Convertíos cada uno de su mal camino y de vuestras malas obras, y habitaréis en el país que Yahvé os dio a vosotros y a vuestros padres por todos los siglos, when he said: Return, each one from his evil way, and from your wicked thoughts. And you shall dwell in the land, which the Lord has given to you and to your fathers, from ancient times and even forever.6con tal que no andéis tras otros dioses para servirlos y para adorarlos, ni provoquéis mi ira con las obras de vuestras manos, de manera que Yo os tenga que castigar. And do not choose to go after strange gods, so that you would serve them and adore them. And do not provoke me to wrath by the works of your hands. And then I will not afflict you.7Pero vosotros no me escuchasteis, dice Yahvé; antes provocasteis mi ira con las obras de vuestras manos, para daño vuestro.» And yet you have not listened to me, says the Lord, and so you have provoked me to anger with the works of your hands, to your own harm.”8Por lo cual, así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: «Por cuanto no habéis escuchado mis palabras, Because of this, thus says the Lord of hosts: “Since you have not listened to my words,9he aquí que enviaré a llamar a todos los pueblos del Norte, dice Yahvé, y a mi siervo Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y los haré venir contra este país y contra todos sus habitantes, y contra todos los pueblos circunvecinos, y los destruiré del todo, convirtiéndolos en objeto de horror, de irrisión y desolación perpetua. behold, I will send for and take all the associates of the north, says the Lord, and Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will lead them over this land, and over its inhabitants, and over all the nations that are around it. And I will destroy them, and I will set them in the midst of stupor and hissing, and continual desolations.10Y haré que desaparezca de ellos la voz de gozo y la voz de alegría, el canto del esposo y el canto de la esposa, el ruido del molino y la luz del candelero. And I will perish from them the voice of gladness and the voice of rejoicing, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstone and the light of the lamp.11Todo este país será una desolación y un desierto, y esta población servirá al rey de Babilonia setenta años. And this entire land will be in desolation and in stupor. And all these nations will serve the king of Babylon, for seventy years.12Pasados los setenta años tomaré cuenta al rey de Babilonia y a aquella nación, por su maldad, dice Yahvé, y a la tierra de los caldeos; y la convertiré en desierto perpetuo. And when the seventy years have been completed, I will visit their iniquity upon the king of Babylon, and upon that nation, and upon the land of the Chaldeans, says the Lord. And I will set it in continual desolations.13Y cumpliré contra esa tierra todas mis palabras que he pronunciado contra ella, todo lo escrito en este libro, que Jeremías ha profetizado contra todas las naciones. And I will lead over that land all my words, which I have spoken against it, all that has been written in this book, everything whatsoever that Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.14Porque también ellas serán reducidas a servidumbre por grandes naciones y poderosos reyes, y les daré el pago conforme a sus fechorías y según las obras de sus manos».” For they have served them, though these were populous nations and great kings. And I will repay them according to their works and according to the deeds of their hands.”15Pues así me dice Yahvé, el Dios de Israel: «Toma de mi mano esta copa del vino de mi ira y dale de beber a todas las naciones a quienes yo te envío. For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Take the chalice of the wine of this fury from my hand. And you shall cause all the nations, to which I will send you, to drink from it.16Beberán y tambaleando enloquecerán, a causa de la espada que Yo enviaré entre ellas». And they will drink, and be stirred up, and become maddened, before the face of the sword that I will send among them.”17Tomé la copa de la mano de Yahvé, y la di a beber a todas las naciones a las cuales Yahvé me había enviado: And I received the chalice from the hand of the Lord, and I caused all the nations, to which the Lord has sent me, to drink from it:18a Jerusalén y a las ciudades de Judá, a sus reyes y a sus príncipes, para convertirlos en espantosa desolación, objeto de irrisión y maldición, como hoy se ve; Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and its kings, and its leaders, so that I gave them over to desolation, and stupor, and hissing, and a curse, just as it is this day.19al Faraón, rey de Egipto, a sus servidores, a sus príncipes y a todo su pueblo; “But as for Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and his servants, and his leaders, and all his people,20a toda la mezcla de pueblos, a todos los reyes de la tierra de Us; a todos los reyes de los filisteos, a Ascalón, a Gaza, a Acarón, y al resto de Azoto; and the entire populace in general: all the kings of the land of the south, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,21a Edom, a Moab y a los hijos de Ammón, and Idumea, and Moab, and the sons of Ammon,22a todos los reyes de Tiro, a todos los reyes de Sidón y a los reyes de las islas que están al otro lado del mar; and all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the land of the islands that are across the sea,23a Dedán y a Tema, a Buz y a todos los que se cortan los bordes del cabello; and Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all those who have shaved off their hair,24a todos los reyes de Arabia, y a todos los reyes de la mezcla de gente que habita en el desierto; and all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the west, who live in the desert,25a todos los reyes de Zimrí, a todos los reyes de Elam y a todos los reyes de los medos; and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of Media,26a todos los reyes del norte, cercanos y lejanos, a cada uno según su turno; en fin a todos los reyes del mundo que hay sobre la faz de la tierra. Y después de ellos beberá el rey de Sesac. and likewise, all the kings of the north from near to far, each one facing his brother, and all the kingdoms upon the face of the earth, and the king of Sesac: all these shall drink after them.27Les dirás: “Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: ¡Bebed, emborrachaos y vomitad, y caed para no levantaros más ante la espada que Yo enviaré entre vosotros! And you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Drink, and be inebriated, and vomit, and fall down. And you shall not rise up before the face of the sword that I will send among you.28Y si se negaren a topar la copa de tu mano para bebería, les dirás: Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: La beberéis sin remedio. And if they refuse to receive the cup from your hand and to drink, you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord of hosts: Certainly, you shall drink!29Pues he aquí si Yo comienzo el castigo por la ciudad sobre la cual ha sido invocado mi nombre, ¿acaso vosotros podréis pasar por inocentes? No pasaréis por inocentes, porque Yo llamo la espada contra todos los habitantes de la tierra, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos. For behold, I am beginning to afflict the city in which my name has been invoked, and will you be innocent and immune? You will not be immune! For I will call the sword over all the inhabitants of the earth, says the Lord of hosts.30Tú profetizarás contra ellos todas estas palabras, y les dirás: “Ruge Yahvé, desde lo alto, y desde la morada de su santidad hace oír su voz; ruge fuertemente sobre su Morada; lanza gritos, como los que pisan el lagar, contra todos los moradores de la tierra. And you shall prophesy to them all these words, and you shall say to them: The Lord will roar from on high, and he will utter his voice from his holy habitation. When roaring, he will roar over the place of his beauty. He will call out, like those who chant in rhythm as they trample the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.31Hasta los cabos del orbe llega el estruendo, porque Yahvé entra en juicio con las naciones, para juzgar a toda carne; para entregar a los inicuos a la espada, palabra de Yahvé. The sound of it will penetrate even to the ends of the earth. For the Lord is entering into judgment with the nations. He himself is entering into judgment with all flesh. I have delivered the impious to the sword, says the Lord.”32Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: He aquí que el mal pasará de una nación a otra, y un gran huracán se desencadenará desde los extremos de la tierra. Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Behold, an affliction will go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind will go forth from the ends of the earth.33Y los que Yahvé matare en ese día (cubrirán) la tierra de un cabo al otro; no serán llorados, ni recogidos, ni sepultados; quedaran como estiércol sobre la faz del campo. And the slain of the Lord will be, on that day, from one end of the earth, even to the other end. They will not be mourned, and they will not be gathered, and they will not be buried. They will lie upon the face of the earth like dung.34Aullad, pastores, y alzad él grito; revolcaos (en ceniza), mayorales del rebaño, porque os ha llegado el día de la matanza; os dispersaré, y caeréis como un vaso selecto. Wail, O shepherds, and cry out! And sprinkle yourselves with ashes, O nobles of the flock! For the days have been completed that lead to your slaughter and your destruction. And you will fall like precious vessels.35No habrá refugio para los pastores, ni escape para los mayorales del rebaño. And escape will flee from the shepherds, and safety will flee from the nobility of the flock.”36Se oyen los gritos de los pastores, y los alaridos de los mayorales del rebaño; porque Yahvé ha devastado su dehesa. There is a voice of outcry from the shepherds, and a wailing among the nobles among the flock! For the Lord has laid waste to their pastures.37Desoladas están sus apacibles praderas, a causa de la ira ardiente de Yahvé. And the fields of peace have been silenced before the face of the fury of the Lord.38Ha salido de su tabernáculo cual leoncillo; la tierra de ellos ha venido a ser un desierto, a causa de la espada destructora, y a causa del ardor de su ira.” He has abandoned those he sheltered like a lion. For the earth has become a desolation before the face of the anger of the dove, and before the face of the fury of the Lord.
