1Al tercer día hubo unas bodas en Caná de Galilea y estaba allí la madre de Jesús. And on the third day, a wedding was held in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.2Jesús también fue invitado a estas bodas, como asimismo sus discípulos. Now Jesus was also invited to the wedding, with his disciples.3Y llegando a faltar vino, la madre de Jesús le dijo: “No tienen vino”. And when the wine was failing, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.”4Jesús le dijo: “¿Qué (nos va en esto) a Mí y a ti, mujer? Mi hora no ha venido todavía”. And Jesus said to her: “What is that to me and to you, woman? My hour has not yet arrived.”5Su madre dijo a los sirvientes: “Cualquier cosa que Él os diga, hacedla”. His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”6Había allí seis tinajas de piedra para las purificaciones de los judíos, que contenían cada una dos o tres metretas. Now in that place, there were six stone water jars, for the purification ritual of the Jews, containing two or three measures each.7Jesús les dijo: “Llenad las tinajas de agua”; y las llenaron hasta arriba. Jesus said to them, “Fill the water jars with water.” And they filled them to the very top.8Entonces les dijo: “Ahora sacad y llevad al maestresala”; y le llevaron. And Jesus said to them, “Now draw from it, and carry it to the chief steward of the feast.” And they took it to him.9Cuando el maestresala probó el agua convertida en vino, cuya procedencia ignoraba —aunque la conocían los sirvientes que habían sacado el agua—, llamó al novio Then, when the chief steward had tasted the water made into wine, since he did not know where it was from, for only the servants who had drawn the water knew, the chief steward called the groom,10y le dijo: “Todo el mundo sirve primero el buen vino, y después, cuando han bebido bien, el menos bueno; pero tú has conservado el buen vino hasta este momento”. and he said to him: “Every man offers the good wine first, and then, when they have become inebriated, he offers what is worse. But you have kept the good wine until now.”11Tal fue el comienzo que dio Jesús a sus milagros, en Caná de Galilea; y manifestó su gloria, y sus discípulos creyeron en Él. This was the beginning of the signs that Jesus accomplished in Cana of Galilee, and it manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him.12Después de esto descendió a Cafarnaúm con su madre, sus hermanos y sus discípulos, y se quedaron allí no muchos días. After this, he descended to Capernaum, with his mother and his brothers and his disciples, but they did not remain there for many days.13La Pascua de los judíos estaba próxima, y Jesús subió a Jerusalén. And the Passover of the Jews was near, and so Jesus ascended to Jerusalem.14En el Templo encontró a los mercaderes de bueyes, de ovejas y de palomas, y a los cambistas sentados (a sus mesas). And he found, sitting in the temple, sellers of oxen and sheep and doves, and the moneychangers.15Y haciendo un azote de cuerdas, arrojó del Templo a todos, con las ovejas y los bueyes; desparramó las monedas de los cambistas y volcó sus mesas. And when he had made something like a whip out of little cords, he drove them all out of the temple, including the sheep and the oxen. And he poured out the brass coins of the moneychangers, and he overturned their tables.16Y a los vendedores de palomas les dijo: “Quitad esto de aquí; no hagáis de la casa de mi Padre un mercado”. And to those who were selling doves, he said: “Take these things out of here, and do not make my Father’s house into a house of commerce.”17Y sus discípulos se acordaron de que está escrito: “El celo de tu Casa me devora”. And truly, his disciples were reminded that it is written: “Zeal for your house consumes me.”18Entonces los judíos le dijeron: “¿Qué señal nos muestras, ya que haces estas cosas?”. Then the Jews responded and said to him, “What sign can you show to us, that you may do these things?”19Jesús les respondió: “Destruid este Templo, y en tres días Yo lo volveré a levantar”. Jesus responded and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”20Replicáronle los judíos: “Se han empleado cuarenta y seis años en edificar este Templo, ¿y Tú, en tres días lo volverás a levantar?” Then the Jews said, “This temple has been built up over forty-six years, and you will raise it up in three days?”21Pero Él hablaba del Templo de su cuerpo. Yet he was speaking about the Temple of his body.22Y cuando hubo resucitado de entre los muertos, sus discípulos se acordaron de que había dicho esto, y creyeron a la Escritura y a la palabra que Jesús había dicho. Therefore, when he had resurrected from the dead, his disciples were reminded that he had said this, and they believed in the Scriptures and in the word that Jesus had spoken.23Mientras Él estaba en Jerusalén, durante la fiesta de Pascua, muchos creyeron en su nombre, viendo los milagros que hacía. Now while he was at Jerusalem during the Passover, on the day of the feast, many trusted in his name, seeing his signs that he was accomplishing.24Pero Jesús no se fiaba de ellos, porque a todos los conocía, But Jesus did not trust himself to them, because he himself had knowledge of all persons,25y no necesitaba de informes acerca del hombre, conociendo por sí mismo lo que hay en el hombre. and because he had no need of anyone to offer testimony about a man. For he knew what was within a man.
