Job 10

1“Tedio de vida tiene mi alma, daré libre curso a mis quejas; hablaré con la amargura de mi alma. My soul is weary of my life. I will release my words against myself. I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.2Diré a Dios: «No me condenes»; dime por qué contiendes conmigo. I will say to God: Do not be willing to condemn me. Reveal to me why you judge me this way.3Te parece acaso bien oprimirme, desechar la obra de tus manos, y favorecer los designios de los malvados? Does it seem good to you, if you find fault with me and oppress me, the work of your own hands, and assist the counsel of the impious?4¿Tienes Tú ojos de carne, y miradas como miradas de hombre? Do you have bodily eyes? Or, just as man sees, will you see?5¿Son tus días como los días de los mortales, y tus años como los años humanos, Are your days just like the days of man, and are your years as the times of humans,6para que vayas inquiriendo mi culpa y buscando mi pecado, so that you would inquire about my iniquity and examine my sin?7aunque sabes que no soy malo, y que nadie puede librarme de tu mano? And you know that I have done nothing impious, yet there is no one who can deliver from your hand.8Tus manos me han plasmado y me han hecho todo entero ¿y ahora quieres destruirme? Your hands have made me and formed me all around, and, in this way, do you suddenly throw me away?9Recuerda que me formaste como barro, y ahora me reduces a polvo. Remember, I ask you, that you have fashioned me like clay, and you will reduce me to dust.10¿No me vaciaste como leche, y cual queso me cuajaste? Have you not extracted me like milk and curdled me like cheese?11De piel y de carne me revestiste, y me tejiste de huesos y nervios; You have clothed me with skin and flesh. You have put me together with bones and nerves.12vida y favores me has concedido, y tu protección me ha conservado la vida. You have assigned to me life and mercy, and your visitation has preserved my spirit.13Mas lo guardaste en tu corazón; bien sé que esto era tu designio. Though you may conceal this in your heart, yet I know that you remember everything.14Si peco, Tú me observas; y no me perdonarás mi culpa. If I have sinned, and you have spared me for an hour, why do you not endure me to be clean from my iniquity?15Si hago mal, ¡ay de mí! y si soy inocente ni aun así puedo alzar mi cabeza, harto como estoy de oprobio y viendo mi miseria. And if I should be impious, woe to me, and if I should be just, I will not lift up my head, being drenched with affliction and misery.16Y si la alzo, me das caza como león, repites contra mí tus terrores; And because of pride, you will seize me like a lioness, and having returned, you torment me to an extraordinary degree.17renuevas tus pruebas contra mí, y acrecientas conmigo tu saña, me atacan cada vez nuevos ejércitos (de males). You renew your testimony against me, and you multiply your wrath against me, and these punishments make war within me.18¿Por qué me sacaste del seno materno? Estaría ahora muerto, sin que ojo alguno me hubiera visto. Why did you lead me out of the womb? If only I had been consumed, so that no eye would ever see me!19Sería como si nunca hubiese existido, llevado del seno materno al sepulcro. I should have been as if I had not been: transferred from the womb to the tomb.20¿No son pocos mis días? Que Él me deje pues, y que se retire de mí para que pueda alegrarme un poco, Will not my few days be completed soon? Release me, therefore, so that I may lament my sorrows a little,21antes que me vaya, para no volver, a la tierra de tiniebla y de sombra de muerte, before I depart and return no more to a land that is dark and covered with the fog of death,22tierra de tiniebla, parecida a densísima lobreguez, sombra de muerte, sin orden alguno, cuya luz es semejante a espesas tinieblas.” a land of misery and darkness, where the shadow of death, and nothing else but everlasting horror, dwells.
