Job 13
1“Todo esto lo han visto mis ojos; mis oídos lo han oído y lo comprendieron. Behold, my eye has seen all these things, and my ear has heard, and I have understood each one.2Lo que vosotros sabéis, lo sé yo también, no soy inferior a vosotros. In conformity with your knowledge, I also know. I am not inferior to you.3Mas quiero hablar con el Todopoderoso, mi anhelo es discutir con Dios. Yet I speak this way to the Almighty, and I desire to argue with God,4Vosotros fraguáis mentiras; sois médicos inútiles todos. having first shown that you fabricate lies and cultivate perverse teachings.5Callaos, por fin; que os será reputado por sabiduría. And I wish that you would remain silent, so that you would be counted among the wise.6Oíd, por favor, mi defensa y prestad atención a las razones que alega mi boca. Therefore, listen to my correction, and pay attention to the judgment of my lips.7¿Queréis acaso hablar falsedades en favor de Dios, decir mentiras en obsequio suyo? Does God require your lie, so that you would speak deceitfully for him?8¿Pretendéis prestarle favores, patrocinar la causa de Dios? Have you taken his place, and do you struggle to give judgment in favor of God?9¿Os sería grato que Él os sondease, o pensáis engañarlo como se engaña a un hombre? Or, will it please him, from whom nothing can be concealed? Or, will he be deceived, like a man, by your deceitfulness?10Os reprenderá sin falta, si solapadamente sois parciales. He will accuse you because in secret you have preempted his presence.11¿No os causa miedo su majestad? ¿No caerá sobre vosotros su espanto? As soon as he moves himself, he will disturb you, and his dread will fall over you.12Vuestros argumentos son necedades, y vuestras fortalezas, fortalezas de barro. Your remembrance will be compared to ashes, and your necks will be reduced to clay.13Callaos, que yo hablaré; venga sobre mí lo que viniere. Be silent for a little while, so that I may speak whatever my mind suggests to me.14Sea lo que fuere, tomaré mi carne entre mis dientes, y pondré mi alma en mi mano. Why do I wound my flesh with my teeth, and carry my soul in my hands?15Aunque Él me matase y yo nada tuviese que esperar, defendería ante Él mi conducta. And now, if he would kill me, I will hope in him; in this, truly, I will correct my ways in his sight.16Al fin Él mismo me defenderá; porque el impío no puede comparecer en su presencia. And he will be my savior, for no hypocrite at all will approach in his sight.17Escuchad atentamente mi palabra, mis argumentos os penetren el oído. Listen to my words, and perceive an enigma with your ears.18Tengo bien preparada (mi) causa, y sé que seré justificado. If I will be judged, I know that I will be found to be just.19¿Quién quiere litigar conmigo? pues si yo callara, me moriría. Who is it that will go to judgment with me? Let him approach. Why should I be consumed in silence?20Solo dos cosas alejes de mí; y no me esconderé de tu presencia: Do not do such things to me twice, and then I will not hide from your face.21que retires de mí tu mano, y no me espanten más tus terrores. Take your hand far away from me, and do not let your dread terrify me.22Luego llama, y yo contestaré; o hablaré yo, y Tú me respondes. Call me, and I will answer you, or else I will speak, and you can answer me.23¿Cuántos son mis delitos y pecados? Dime mis faltas y transgresiones. How many iniquities and sins do I have? Reveal my crimes and offenses to me.24¿Por qué ocultas tu rostro, y me tienes por enemigo tuyo? Why do you conceal your face and consider me to be your enemy?25¿Quieres aterrar una hoja que lleva el viento, perseguir una paja reseca? Against a leaf, which is carried away by the wind, you reveal your power, and you pursue dry straw.26Porque decretas contra mí penas tan amargas, y me imputas las faltas de mi mocedad. For you write bitter things against me, and you want to consume me for the sins of my youth.27Pones mis pies en el cepo, observas todos mis pasos y acechas las plantas de mis pies. You have put my feet on a tether, and you have observed all my paths, and you have considered the steps of my feet.28Me consumo como un (leño) carcomido, como ropa roída por la polilla.” I will be left to decay like something rotten and like a garment that is being eaten by moths.
