Job 35
1Tomando de nuevo la palabra dijo Eliú: After this, Eliu again spoke in this way:2“¿Acaso te parece justo decir: «Yo tengo razón contra Dios?» Does it seem right to you in your thoughts, that you should say, “I am more just than God?”3Ya que dices: “¿Qué provecho tienes Tú, o qué ventaja tengo yo de mi pecado?” For you said, “Having done what is right does not please you,” and, “How will it benefit you, if I sin?”4Voy a darte respuesta, a ti y a tus compañeros. And so, I will respond to your words, and to your friends who are with you.5Dirige tu mirada hacia el cielo y ve; y contempla el firmamento que es más alto que tú. Look up towards heaven and consider; also, think about the sky, which is higher than you.6Si pecas, ¿qué le haces a Él? y si multiplicas tus transgresiones, ¿qué (daño) le causas? If you sin, how will it hurt him? And if your iniquities are multiplied, what will you do against him?7Si eres justo, ¿qué le das con ello? o ¿qué recibe Él de tu mano? Furthermore, if you act justly, what will you give him, or what will he receive from your hand?8Solamente a un hombre como tú dañará tu maldad, y tu justicia (aprovecha solo) a un hijo de hombre. Your impiety may hurt a man who is like you, though your justice may help the son of the man.9Gritan (los desgraciados), bajo la violencia de la opresión, y piden auxilio contra el brazo de los poderosos; Because of the multitude of false accusers, they will cry out; and they will lament because of the strong arm of the tyrants.10mas ninguno dice: «¿Dónde está Dios, mi Creador, el cual inspira canciones de alegría en medio de la noche, Yet he has not said: “Where is God, who made me, who has given songs in the night,11que nos da más ilustración que a las bestias de la tierra, y más inteligencia que a las aves del cielo?» who teaches us in addition to the beasts of the earth, and who educates us along with the birds of the air?”12Entonces gritan; pero Él no responde, a causa de la soberbia de los malvados. There they will cry, and he will not heed them, because of the arrogance of the wicked.13Pues Dios no atiende ruegos vanos; el Omnipotente no los considera. Therefore, God does not hear in vain, and the Almighty will look into each and every case.14Pero si dices que Él no lo ve, la causa está delante de Él; espera su sentencia. And so, when you say, “He does not examine,” be judged before him, but wait for him.15Pero ahora (que Dios) tarda en descargar su ira, y no castiga con rigor la necedad, For, at the present time, he does not bring forth his fury, nor does he punish sin exceedingly.16Job abre su boca para vanas palabras amontonando frases de ignorante.” Therefore, Job has opened his mouth in vain and has multiplied words without knowledge.
