Job 37
1“Por esto tiembla mi corazón, y salta de su lugar. At this, my heart became frightened, and it has been moved from its place.2Oíd, oíd el trueno de su voz, el ruido que sale de su boca. Pay close attention to the alarm of his voice and to the sound that proceeds from his mouth.3Lo hace retumbar por toda la extensión del cielo, y su fulgor brilla hasta los confines de la tierra. He beholds everything under the heavens, and his light reaches beyond the ends of the earth.4Tras de Él se oye una voz rugiente; pues truena con la voz de su majestad; y no retiene más (los rayos) cuando se oye su voz. After this, a noise will sound; he will thunder with the voice of his greatness, and it will not be tracked down, yet his voice will be obeyed.5Truena la voz de Dios y obra maravillas, hace cosas grandes e inescrutables. God will thunder with his voice miraculously, for he performs great and unsearchable things.6Pues a la nieve dice: «¡Baja a la tierra!» Él (envía) la lluvia y los aguaceros torrenciales. He commands the snow to descend on earth, and the winter rains, and the shower of his strength.7Sobre la mano de todos pone un sello, para que todos conozcan Su obra. From the interior, a storm will come forth, and a cold winter from the north.10Al soplo de Dios se forma el hielo, y en su derretimiento se ensanchan las aguas. As God breathes out, frost forms, and the waters are poured forth very widely again.11Él carga con vapor la nube, y la nube esparce sus fulgores, Crops desire clouds, and the clouds scatter their light.12que dando vueltas según sus planes hacen lo que Él manda sobre la redondez de la tierra; It shines all around, wherever the will of him that governs them will lead, to anywhere he will command, over the whole face of the earth,13ora para corrección de su tierra, ora para mostrar su misericordia. whether in one tribe, or in his own region, or in whatever place of his mercy that he will order them to be found.14Esto, oh Job, escúchalo bien, detente, y considera las maravillas de Dios. Do you know the great paths of the clouds, and the perfect sciences?17¿(Sabes) tú por qué se calientan tus vestidos, cuando la tierra se calla bajo el soplo del Austro? Are not your garments hot, when the south wind blows across the land?18¿Extendiste tú con Él el firmamento, tan sólido como un espejo fundido? Perhaps you have made the heavens with him, which are very solid, as if they had been cast from brass.19Díganos qué debemos responderle, ya que no sabemos qué decirle, siendo como somos ignorantes. Reveal to us what we should say to him, for, of course, we are wrapped in darkness.20Mas ¿hay que contarle lo que yo digo? pues el hombre, por más que hable, no es más que una nada. Who will explain to him the things that I am saying? Even while a man is still speaking, he will be devoured.21Ahora ya no se ve la luz, aquel resplandor en el firmamento; pasó el viento, y lo deja despejado. Although they do not see the light, the air will be thickened suddenly into clouds, and the wind, passing by, will drive them away.22Del norte viene áureo (brillo), la terrible majestad, que envuelve a Dios. Riches arrive from the north, and fearful praise reaches out to God.23Él Todopoderoso, el inaccesible, es grande en poder y juicio, es rico en justicia, y no oprime a nadie. We are not worthy to be able to find him. Great in strength, great in judgment, great in justice: he is indescribable.24Por eso han de temerlo los hombres: no mira Él a los que se creen sabios.” Therefore, men will fear him, and all those who seem to themselves to be wise, will not dare to contemplate him.
