Levítico 12
1Habló Yahvé a Moisés y dijo: And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:2“Habla a los hijos de Israel y diles: Cuando una mujer dé a luz y tenga un hijo varón, quedará impura siete días; quedará impura conforme a los días de la impureza de su menstruación. Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: A woman, if she has received the seed to bear a male, shall be unclean for seven days, just as in the days of separation due to menstruation.3Al octavo día será circuncidado el niño en la carne de su prepucio; And on the eighth day, the little infant shall be circumcised.4ella, empero, permanecerá todavía treinta y tres días en la sangre de su purificación. No tocará ninguna cosa santa ni irá al Santuario hasta cumplirse los días de su purificación. Yet truly, she herself shall remain for thirty-three days in the blood of her purification. She shall not touch anything holy, nor shall she enter into the Sanctuary, until the days of her purification are completed.5Mas si da a luz una hija, quedará inmunda dos semanas, como en su menstruación, y permanecerá sesenta y seis días más en la sangre de su purificación. But if she will bear a female, she shall be unclean for two weeks, according to the custom of her monthly flow, and she shall remain in the blood of her purification for sixty-six days.6Al cumplirse los días de su purificación, por hijo o por hija, presentará al sacerdote, a la entrada del Tabernáculo de la Reunión, un cordero primal para holocausto, y un palomino o una tórtola para sacrificio por el pecado. And when the days of her purification have been completed, for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, a one-year-old lamb as a holocaust, and a young pigeon or a turtledove for sin, and she shall deliver them to the priest.7El (sacerdote) los ofrecerá ante Yahvé, haciendo expiación por ella, y quedará purificada del flujo de su sangre. Esta es la ley referente a la mujer que da a luz hijo o hija. He shall offer them in the sight of the Lord, and he shall pray for her. And so she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for one who bears a male or a female.8Mas si ella no tiene lo suficiente como para presentar un cordero, tome dos tórtolas o dos palominos, uno para holocausto y otro para sacrificio por el pecado; y el sacerdote hará expiación por ella, y quedará pura.” And if her hand has not obtained or been able to offer a lamb, she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons: one as a holocaust, and the other for sin. And the priest shall pray for her, and so she shall be cleansed.
