Levítico 16
1Habló Yahvé a Moisés después de la muerte de los dos hijos de Aarón, los cuales murieron al acercarse a Yahvé; And the Lord spoke to Moses, after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they were destroyed for offering strange fire.2y dijo Yahvé a Moisés: “Di a tu hermano Aarón, que no en todo tiempo entre en el Santuario que está tras el velo, delante del propiciatorio que cubre el Arca, no sea que muera: pues Yo me hago ver en la nube encima del propiciatorio. And he instructed him, saying: Speak to your brother Aaron, so that he may not, at any time, enter into the Sanctuary, which is within the veil, before the propitiatory by which the ark is covered, so that he may not die, (for I will appear in a cloud above the oracle)3He aquí cómo Aarón ha de entrar en el Santuario: tomará un becerro para sacrificio por el pecado y un carnero para holocausto. unless he will have done these things beforehand. He shall offer a calf for sin, and a ram as a holocaust.4Se vestirá de la túnica santa de lino, se pondrá sobre su carne los calzoncillos de lino, se ceñirá el cinturón de lino y se cubrirá con la mitra de lino. Estas son las vestiduras sagradas que vestirá después de haberse lavado con agua. He shall be vested with a linen tunic. He shall conceal his nakedness with linen undergarments. He shall be wrapped with a linen belt, and he shall impose a linen headdress on his head. For these are holy vestments. All of these he shall put on, after he has been washed.5Luego tomará de la Congregación de los hijos de Israel dos machos cabríos para sacrificio por el pecado y un carnero para holocausto. And he shall receive, from the entire multitude of the sons of Israel, two he-goats for sin, and one ram as a holocaust.6Y después de ofrecer su becerro por el pecado para expiación de sí mismo y de su casa, And when he has presented the calf, and has prayed for himself and for his own house,7tomará Aarón los dos machos cabríos y los presentará ante Yahvé, a la entrada del Tabernáculo de la Reunión. he shall cause the two he-goats to stand in the sight of the Lord at the entrance to the tabernacle of the testimony.8Luego Aarón echará suertes sobre los dos machos cabríos, una suerte para Yahvé, y la otra para Asasel. And casting lots over them both, one is to be offered to the Lord, and the other is to be the emissary goat.9Y presentará Aarón el macho cabrío que haya tocado en suerte a Yahvé, ofreciéndolo como sacrificio por el pecado. The one whose lot fell out to be offered to the Lord, he shall offer for sin.10El macho cabrío que por suerte tocare a Asasel, lo colocará vivo delante de Yahvé, para hacer sobre él la expiación y echarlo al desierto, para Asasel. But the one who is to be the emissary goat shall stand before the Lord, so that he may pour the prayers upon him, and may send him away into the wilderness.11Entonces ofrecerá Aarón su becerro por el pecado, para hacer expiación por sí mismo y por su casa, e inmolará su becerro por el pecado. After these things have been duly celebrated, he shall offer the calf, and praying for himself and for his own house, he shall immolate it.12Tomará después un incensario lleno de brasas sacadas de sobre el altar que está ante Yahvé, y dos puñados de incienso aromático pulverizado, y llevándolo detrás del velo, And taking up the censer, which he has filled from the burning coals of the altar, and drawing up with his hands the aromatic compound for incense, he shall enter within the veil, into the holy place,13pondrá el incienso sobre el fuego, delante de Yahvé, para que la nube del incienso envuelva el propiciatorio que está encima del Testimonio y él no muera. so that when the aromatics are placed upon the fire, its cloud and vapor may cover the oracle, which is above the testimony, and he may not die.14Tomando luego de la sangre del becerro la derramará con su dedo sobre el frente oriental del propiciatorio, y con su dedo hará siete aspersiones de sangre delante del propiciatorio. Likewise, he shall take some of the blood of the calf, and sprinkle it with his finger seven times opposite the propitiatory, toward the east.15Después degollará el macho cabrío por el pecado del pueblo, y llevará su sangre detrás del velo, haciendo con su sangre lo que hizo con la sangre del becerro: la derramará sobre el propiciatorio y delante del mismo. And when he has slain the he-goat for the sin of the people, he shall carry its blood within the veil, just as he was instructed to do with the blood of the calf, so that he may sprinkle it away from the area of the oracle,16Así purificará el Santuario de las impurezas de los hijos de Israel y de sus transgresiones y de todos sus pecados. Lo mismo hará con el Tabernáculo de la Reunión, que está entre ellos en medio de sus impurezas. and so that he may expiate the Sanctuary from the uncleanness of the sons of Israel, and from their prevarications and every one of their sins. According to this rite, he shall act toward the tabernacle of the testimony, which is fixed among them in the midst of the filth of their habitation.17Nadie debe estar en el Tabernáculo de la Reunión cuando él entre para hacer la expiación dentro del Santuario, hasta que salga después de haber hecho la expiación por sí mismo, por su casa y por toda la asamblea de Israel. Let no man be in the tabernacle when the high priest enters the Sanctuary in order to pray for himself, and for his house, and for the entire assembly of Israel, until he exits.18Luego saldrá hacia el altar que está ante Yahvé, y lo expiará, tomando de la sangre del becerro y de la sangre del macho cabrío y poniéndola sobre los cuernos del altar todo en torno. And when he has exited to the altar which is before the Lord, let him pray for himself, and taking the blood of the calf, and of the he-goat, let him pour it upon its horns all around.19Hará sobre él con su dedo siete aspersiones de la sangre, y así lo purificará y lo santificará de las impurezas de los hijos de Israel. And sprinkling with his finger seven times, let him expiate and sanctify it from the uncleanness of the sons of Israel.20Acabada la expiación del Santuario, del Tabernáculo de la Reunión y del altar, presentará Aarón el macho cabrío vivo; After he has cleansed the Sanctuary, and the tabernacle, and the altar, then let him offer the living goat.21y poniendo ambas manos sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío vivo, confesará sobre él todas las iniquidades de los hijos de Israel, y todas las transgresiones y todos los pecados de ellos, y depositándolos sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío, lo enviará al desierto por mano de un hombre designado para ello. And placing both hands upon its head, let him confess all the iniquities of the sons of Israel, and all of their offenses and sins. And calling these down upon its head, he shall send it away, by means of a man prepared to do so, into the desert.22Así el macho cabrío llevará sobre sí todas las iniquidades de ellos hacia tierra inhabitada, y el hombre soltará al macho cabrío en el desierto. And when the goat has carried all their iniquities into a solitary land, and has been released into the desert,23Luego entrará Aarón en el Tabernáculo de la Reunión, y quitándose las vestiduras de lino que se había vestido al entrar en el Santuario, las dejará allí, Aaron shall return into the tabernacle of the testimony. And placing aside the vestments, which he had worn before when he entered into the Sanctuary, and leaving them there,24lavará su cuerpo con agua en lugar sagrado y se pondrá sus vestiduras. Después saldrá y ofrecerá su holocausto y el holocausto del pueblo, haciendo la expiación por sí mismo y por el pueblo, he shall wash his flesh in the holy place, and he shall be clothed in his own garments. And the fat which is offered for sins, he shall burn upon the altar.26El hombre encargado de soltar al macho cabrío para Asasel, lavará sus vestidos y bañará su cuerpo en agua; después de esto podrá entrar en el campamento. Yet truly, he who has sent away the emissary goat shall wash his clothes and his body with water, and so he shall enter into the camp.27El becerro del sacrificio por el pecado y el macho cabrío inmolado por el pecado, cuya sangre fue introducida en el Santuario para hacer expiación, serán sacados fuera del campamento y quemados sus pieles, su carne y sus excrementos. But the calf and the he-goat, which were immolated for sin, and whose blood was brought into the Sanctuary to complete the expiation, these shall be carried outside the camp and be burned with fire: as with their skins, so also with their flesh and dung.28El que los queme lavará sus vestidos y se bañará en agua; después de esto podrá entrar en el campamento. And whoever will have burned them shall wash his clothes and flesh with water, and so he shall enter into the camp.29Será esta para vosotros una ley perpetua: En el mes séptimo, el día décimo del mes, os mortificaréis y no haréis trabajo alguno, ni el indígena, ni el extranjero que mora en medio de vosotros. And this shall be to you an everlasting ordinance. In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and you shall do no work, neither someone native born, nor the newcomer who sojourns among you.30Porque en ese día se hará expiación por vosotros para purificaros y de todos vuestros pecados quedaréis limpios delante de Yahvé. On this day, there shall be atonement for you, and also a cleansing from all your sins. You shall be cleansed in the sight of the Lord.31Será para vosotros un sábado solemne, en el cual os habéis de mortificar. Ley perpetua será esta. For it is a Sabbath of rest, and you shall afflict your souls as a perpetual observance.32La expiación será hecha por el sacerdote ungido y consagrado como sacerdote en lugar de su padre: se vestirá las vestiduras de lino, las vestiduras sagradas, And the priest who has been anointed, and whose hands have been consecrated to exercise the priesthood in the place of his father, shall make atonement. And he shall be clothed with the linen robe and the holy vestments.33y hará la expiación del Santuario de la santidad; expiará el Tabernáculo de la Reunión y el altar, como asimismo hará la expiación por los sacerdotes y por todo el pueblo de la Congregación. And he shall expiate the Sanctuary and the tabernacle of the testimony and the altar, likewise the priest and all the people.34Esto lo tendréis por precepto perpetuo, para hacer la expiación por los hijos de Israel, por todos sus pecados, una vez al año.” Y se hizo como Yahvé mandara a Moisés. And this shall be to you a perpetual law, that you pray for the sons of Israel, and for all their sins once a year. Therefore, he did just as the Lord had instructed Moses.
