Levítico 19
1Habló Yahvé a Moisés, diciendo: The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:2“Habla a toda la Congregación de los hijos de Israel y diles: Sed santos; porque Yo, Yahvé vuestro Dios, soy santo. Speak to the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: Be holy, for I, the Lord your God, am holy.3Respete cada cual a su madre y a su padre, y guardad mis sábados. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios. Let each one fear his father and his mother. Observe my Sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.4No os volváis hacia los ídolos, ni os hagáis dioses fundidos. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios. Do not be willing to convert to idols, neither should you make molten gods for yourselves. I am the Lord your God.5Cuando presentéis un sacrificio pacífico a Yahvé, ofrecedlo voluntariamente. If you immolate a victim of peace offerings to the Lord, so that he may be appeased,6La víctima se ha de comer el mismo día en que la inmolareis, y al día siguiente; y lo que sobrare hasta el día tercero, será entregado al fuego. you shall eat it on the same day as when it was immolated, and the next day. Then whatever will remain on the third day you shall burn with fire.7Si se comiere algo al tercer día, estando ya en putrefacción, no será acepto. If anyone, after two days, will have eaten from it, he shall be profane and guilty of impiety.8El que lo coma pagará su iniquidad; porque está profanando lo consagrado a Yahvé. Tal persona será extirpada de entre su pueblo. And he shall bear his iniquity, for he has polluted what is holy to the Lord. And that soul shall perish from his people.9En la recolección de la mies de vuestra tierra no segarás hasta el límite de tu campo, ni respigaras los restos de tu mies. When you will have harvested the grain fields of your land, you shall not cut it down to the surface of the land, even to the ground, nor shall you gather the remaining ears of grain.10Tampoco harás rebusca en tu viña, ni recogerás en tu viña las uvas caídas; las dejarás para el pobre y para el extranjero. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios. Neither shall you gather the clusters or individual grapes which fall down in your vineyard, but you shall leave them for paupers and travelers to take. I am the Lord your God.11No hurtaréis; no usaréis de engaño o mentira entre vosotros. You shall not steal. You shall not lie. Neither shall anyone deceive his neighbor.12No juraréis en falso por mi nombre, ni profanarás el nombre de Dios. Yo soy Yahvé. You shall not commit perjury in my name, nor shall you pollute the name of your God. I am the Lord.13No oprimirás a tu prójimo, ni le despojarás. No quede el salario del jornalero en tu mano hasta el día siguiente. You shall not slander your neighbor, nor shall you oppress him by violence. The wages of a hired hand, you shall not delay with you until tomorrow.14No maldecirás al sordo, ni pondrás tropiezo ante el ciego, sino que temerás a tu Dios. Yo soy Yahvé. You shall not speak evil of the deaf, nor shall you place a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall fear the Lord your God, for I am the Lord.15Siendo juez no hagas injusticia, ni en favor del pobre, ni por respeto al grande. Juzgarás a tu prójimo según justicia. You shall not do what is unjust, nor shall you judge unjustly. You shall not consider the reputation of the poor, nor shall you honor the countenance of the powerful. Judge your neighbor justly.16No andes sembrando calumnias por entre tu pueblo; no te cruces de brazos cuando esté en peligro la vida de tu prójimo. Yo soy Yahvé. You shall not be a detractor, nor a whisperer, among the people. You shall not stand against the blood of your neighbor. I am the Lord.17No odies en tu corazón a tu hermano, pero reprende a tu prójimo, para que no lleves pecado por él. You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but reprove him openly, lest you have sin over him.18No tomarás venganza, ni guardarás rencor contra los hijos de tu pueblo. Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. Yo soy Yahvé. Do not seek revenge, neither should you be mindful of the injury of your fellow citizens. You shall love your friend as yourself. I am the Lord.19Guardad mis mandamientos. No hagas que tus bestias se mezclen con las de otra especie. No siembres tu campo con dos clases distintas de semillas. No lleves vestido tejido de dos clases de hilo. Observe my laws. You shall not cause your cattle to breed with other kinds of animals. You shall not sow your field with diverse seeds. You shall not be clothed with a garment which has been woven from two things.20Si un hombre duerme con una mujer, teniendo con ella comercio carnal, y ella es sierva y desposada a otro, sin que haya sido rescatada, ni puesta en libertad, serán castigados (ambos), mas no con la muerte, porque ella no era libre. If a man will have slept in sexual intercourse with a woman, who is a servant and who is also able to be married, and yet he has not redeemed her with a price, nor paid to set her free, they both shall be beaten, but they shall not die, for she was not a free woman.21El hombre ofrecerá por su culpa a Yahvé un carnero, como sacrificio por el delito, a la entrada del Tabernáculo de la Reunión. But, for his offense, he shall offer a ram to the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.22Con el carnero ofrecido por el delito el sacerdote hará expiación por él ante Yahvé por el pecado cometido, y se le perdonará este pecado. And the priest shall pray for him, and for his sin, before the Lord, and he shall win his favor again for him, and the sin shall be forgiven.23Cuando después de entrar en la tierra plantéis todo género de árboles frutales, consideraréis su fruto como incircunciso; por tres años lo consideraréis como incircunciso; no se comerá. When you will have entered into the land, and will have planted in it fruit trees, you shall take away their first-fruits; the fruit that germinates shall be unclean to you, neither shall you eat from these.24Al cuarto año todos sus frutos serán consagrados en loor de Yahvé. But in the fourth year, all their fruit shall be sanctified for the praise of the Lord.25Y desde el quinto año comeréis de su fruto; rendirán entonces mayor fruto. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios. And in the fifth year you shall eat the produce, gathering the fruits which are brought forth. I am the Lord your God.26No comáis nada con sangre. No practiquéis adivinación, ni magia. You shall not eat with blood. You shall not practice divination, nor the observation of dreams.27No raeréis en forma redonda las extremidades de vuestra cabellera, ni cortarás los bordes de tu barba. And you shall not cut the hair of your head circularly, nor shave your beard.28No haréis sajaduras en vuestra carne, a causa de un muerto; ni os imprimiréis tatuaje. Yo soy Yahvé. You shall not cut your flesh for the dead, and you shall not make other figures or marks on yourself. I am the Lord.29No profanarás a tu hija, prostituyéndola; no sea que la tierra se entregue a la fornicación y se llene de maldad. Do not prostitute your daughter, lest the land be contaminated and filled with crimes.30Guardad mis sábados y respetad mi Santuario. Yo soy Yahvé, Observe my Sabbaths, and be apprehensive toward my Sanctuary. I am the Lord.31No consultéis a los que evocan a los muertos, ni a los adivinos. No andéis en busca de ellos para no contaminaros con ellos. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios. Do not turn aside to astrologers, nor consult with soothsayers, so as to be polluted through them. I am the Lord your God.32Levántate ante las canas y honra el rostro del anciano. Teme a tu Dios. Yo soy Yahvé. Rise up in the presence of a gray-haired head, and honor the reputation of an elder, and fear the Lord your God. I am the Lord.33Cuando un extranjero morare entre vosotros, en vuestra tierra, no le oprimáis. If a newcomer lives in your land and abides among you, do not reproach him,34El extranjero que morare entre vosotros, os sea como uno de vuestro pueblo. Le amarás como a ti mismo; pues extranjeros habéis sido vosotros en la tierra de Egipto. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios. but let him be among you like one native born. And you shall love him as yourselves. For you were also newcomers in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.35No hagáis injusticia en los juicios, ni en las medidas de longitud, ni en el peso, ni en las medidas de capacidad. Do not be willing to accomplish iniquity in judgment, in lengths, in weights, in quantities.36Tened balanza justa, peso justo, efa justo e hin justo. Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios, que os saqué del país de Egipto. Let the scales be just and the weights equal, let the dry measure be just and the liquid measure be equal. I am the Lord your God, who led you away from the land of Egypt.37Guardad todos mis preceptos y todos mis mandamientos, y ponedlos en práctica. Yo soy Yahvé.” Keep all my precepts, and all my judgments, and accomplish them. I am the Lord.
