Lucas 11
1Un día que Jesús estaba en oración, en cierto lugar, cuando hubo terminado, uno de sus discípulos le dijo: “Señor, enséñanos a orar, como Juan lo enseñó a sus discípulos”. And it happened that, while he was in a certain place praying, when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”2Les dijo: “Cuando oráis, decid: Padre, que sea santificado tu nombre; que llegue tu reino. And he said to them: “When you are praying, say: Father, may your name be kept holy. May your kingdom come.3Danos cada día nuestro pan supersubstancial; Give us this day our daily bread.4y perdónanos nuestros pecados, porque también nosotros perdonamos a todo el que nos debe; y no nos introduzcas en prueba”. And forgive us our sins, since we also forgive all who are indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.”5Y les dijo: “Quien de vosotros, teniendo un amigo, si va (este) a buscarlo a medianoche y le dice: “Amigo, necesito tres panes, And he said to them: “Which of you will have a friend and will go to him in the middle of the night, and will say to him: ‘Friend, lend me three loaves,6porque un amigo me ha llegado de viaje, y no tengo nada que ofrecerle”, because a friend of mine has arrived from a journey to me, and I do not have anything to set before him.’7y si él mismo le responde de adentro: “No me incomodes, ahora mi puerta está cerrada y mis hijos están como yo en cama, no puedo levantarme para darte”, And from within, he would answer by saying: ‘Do not disturb me. The door is closed now, and my children and I are in bed. I cannot get up and give it to you.’8os digo, que si no se levanta para darle por ser su amigo, al menos a causa de su pertinacia, se levantará para darle todo lo que le hace falta. Yet if he will persevere in knocking, I tell you that, even though he would not get up and give it to him because he is a friend, yet due to his continued insistence, he will get up and give him whatever he needs.9Yo os digo: “Pedid y se os dará, buscad y encontraréis, golpead y se os abrirá”. And so I say to you: Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you.10Porque todo el que pide obtiene, el que busca halla, al que golpea se le abre. For everyone who asks, receives. And whoever seeks, finds. And whoever knocks, it shall be opened to him.11¿Qué padre, entre vosotros, si su hijo le pide pan, le dará una piedra? ¿Si pide pescado, en lugar de pescado le dará una serpiente? So then, who among you, if he asks his father for bread, he would give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he would give him a serpent, instead of a fish?12¿O si pide un huevo, le dará un escorpión? Or if he will ask for an egg, he would offer to him a scorpion?13Si pues vosotros, aunque malos, sabéis dar buenas cosas a vuestros hijos, ¡cuánto más el Padre dará desde el cielo el Espíritu Santo a quienes se lo pidan!” Therefore, if you, being evil, know how to give good things to your sons, how much more will your Father give, from heaven, a spirit of goodness to those who ask him?”14Estaba Jesús echando un demonio, el cual era mudo. Cuando hubo salido el demonio, el mudo habló. Y las muchedumbres estaban maravilladas. And he was casting out a demon, and the man was mute. But when he had cast out the demon, the mute man spoke, and so the crowds were amazed.15Pero algunos de entre ellos dijeron: “Por Beelzebul, príncipe de los demonios, expulsa los demonios”. But some of them said, “It is by Beelzebub, the leader of demons, that he casts out demons.”16Otros, para ponerlo a prueba, requerían de Él una señal desde el cielo. And others, testing him, required a sign from heaven of him.17Mas Él, habiendo conocido sus pensamientos, les dijo: “Todo reino dividido contra sí mismo, es arruinado, y las casas caen una sobre otra. But when he perceived their thoughts, he said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself will become desolate, and house will fall upon house.18Si pues, Satanás se divide contra él mismo, ¿cómo se sostendrá su reino? Puesto que decís vosotros que por Beelzebul echo Yo los demonios. So then, if Satan is also divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that it is by Beelzebub that I cast out demons.19Ahora bien, si Yo echo los demonios por virtud de Beelzebul, ¿vuestros hijos por virtud de quién los arrojan? Ellos mismos serán, pues, vuestros jueces. But if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your own sons cast them out? Therefore, they shall be your judges.20Mas si por el dedo de Dios echo Yo los demonios, es que ya llegó a vosotros el reino de Dios. Moreover, if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then certainly the kingdom of God has overtaken you.21Cuando el hombre fuerte y bien armado guarda su casa, sus bienes están seguros. When a strong armed man guards his entrance, the things that he possesses are at peace.22Pero si sobreviniendo uno más fuerte que él lo vence, le quita todas sus armas en que confiaba y reparte sus despojos. But if a stronger one, overwhelming him, has defeated him, he will take away all his weapons, in which he trusted, and he will distribute his spoils.23Quien no está conmigo, está contra Mí; y quien no acumula conmigo, desparrama”. Whoever is not with me, is against me. And whoever does not gather with me, scatters.24“Cuando el espíritu inmundo sale de un hombre, recorre los lugares áridos, buscando donde posarse, y, no hallándolo, dice: «Me volveré a la casa mía, de donde salí». When an unclean spirit has departed from a man, he walks through waterless places, seeking rest. And not finding any, he says: ‘I will return to my house, from which I departed.’25A su llegada, la encuentra barrida y adornada. And when he has arrived, he finds it swept clean and decorated.26Entonces se va a tomar consigo otros siete espíritus aún más malos que él mismo; entrados, se arraigan allí, y el fin de aquel hombre viene a ser peor que el principio”. Then he goes, and he takes in seven other spirits with him, more wicked than himself, and they enter and live there. And so, the end of that man is made worse than the beginning.”27Cuando Él hablaba así, una mujer levantando la voz de entre la multitud, dijo: “¡Feliz el seno que te llevó y los pechos que Tú mamaste!” And it happened that, when he was saying these things, a certain woman from the crowd, lifting up her voice, said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts that nursed you.”28Y Él contestó: “¡Felices más bien los que escuchan la palabra de Dios y la conservan!” Then he said, “Yes, but moreover: blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.”29Como la muchedumbre se agolpaba, se puso a decir: “Perversa generación es esta; busca una señal, mas no le será dada señal, sino la de Jonás. Then, as the crowds were quickly gathering, he began to say: “This generation is a wicked generation: it seeks a sign. But no sign will be given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.30Porque lo mismo que Jonás fue una señal para los ninivitas, así el Hijo del hombre será una señal para la generación esta. For just as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of man be to this generation.31La reina del Mediodía será despertada en el juicio frente a los hombres de la generación esta y los condenará, porque vino de las extremidades de la tierra para escuchar la sabiduría de Salomón; y hay aquí más que Salomón. The queen of the South will rise up, at the judgment, with the men of this generation, and she will condemn them. For she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And behold, more than Solomon is here.32Los varones ninivitas actuarán en el juicio frente a la generación esta y la condenarán, porque ellos se arrepintieron a la predicación de Jonás; y hay aquí más que Jonás”. The men of Nineveh will rise up, at the judgment, with this generation, and they will condemn it. For at the preaching of Jonah, they repented. And behold, more than Jonah is here.33“Nadie enciende una candela y la pone escondida en un sótano, ni bajo el celemín, sino sobre el candelero, para alumbrar a los que entran. No one lights a candle and places it in hiding, nor under a bushel basket, but upon a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.34La lámpara de tu cuerpo es tu ojo. Cuando tu ojo está claro, todo tu cuerpo goza de la luz, pero si él está turbio, tu cuerpo está en tinieblas. Your eye is the light of your body. If your eye is wholesome, your entire body will be filled with light. But if it is wicked, then even your body will be darkened.35Vigila pues, no suceda que la luz que en ti hay, sea tiniebla. Therefore, take care, lest the light that is within you become darkness.36Si pues todo tu cuerpo está lleno de luz (interiormente ), no teniendo parte alguna tenebrosa, será todo él luminoso (exteriormente), como cuando la lámpara te ilumina con su resplandor”. So then, if your entire body becomes filled with light, not having any part in darkness, then it will be entirely light, and, like a shining lamp, it will illuminate you.”37Mientras Él hablaba lo invitó un fariseo a comer con él; entró y se puso a la mesa. And as he was speaking, a certain Pharisee asked him to eat with him. And going inside, he sat down to eat.38El fariseo se extrañó al ver que no se había lavado antes de comer. But the Pharisee began to say, thinking within himself: “Why might it be that he has not washed before eating?”39Díjole, pues el Señor: “Vosotros, fariseos, estáis purificando lo exterior de la copa y del plato, en tanto que por dentro estáis llenos de rapiña y de iniquidad. And the Lord said to him: “You Pharisees today clean what is outside the cup and the plate, but what is inside of you is full of plunder and iniquity.40¡Insensatos! el que hizo lo exterior ¿no hizo también lo interior? Fools! Did not he who made what is outside, indeed also make what is inside?41Por eso, dad de limosna el contenido, y todo para vosotros quedará puro. Yet truly, give what is above as alms, and behold, all things are clean for you.42Pero, ¡ay de vosotros, fariseos! ¡porque dais el diezmo de la menta, de la ruda y de toda legumbre, y dejáis de lado la justicia y el amor de Dios! Era menester practicar esto, sin omitir aquello. But woe to you, Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but you ignore judgment and the charity of God. But these things you ought to have done, without omitting the others.43¡Ay de vosotros, fariseos! porque amáis el primer sitial en las sinagogas y ser saludados en las plazas públicas. Woe to you, Pharisees! For you love the first seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the marketplace.44¡Ay de vosotros! porque sois como esos sepulcros, que no lo parecen y que van pisando las gentes, sin saberlo”. Woe to you! For you are like graves that are not noticeable, so that men walk over them without realizing it.”45Entonces un doctor de la Ley le dijo: “Maestro, hablando así, nos ultrajas también a nosotros.” Then one of the experts in the law, in response, said to him, “Teacher, in saying these things, you bring an insult against us as well.”46Mas Él respondió: “¡Ay de vosotros también, doctores de la Ley! porque agobiáis a los demás con cargas abrumadoras, al paso que vosotros mismos ni con un dedo tocáis esas cargas. So he said: “And woe to you experts in the law! For you weigh men down with burdens which they are not able to bear, but you yourselves do not touch the weight with even one of your fingers.47¡Ay de vosotros! porque reedificáis sepulcros para los profetas, pero fueron vuestros padres quienes los asesinaron. Woe to you, who build the tombs of the prophets, while it is your fathers who killed them!48Así vosotros sois testigos de cargo y consentidores de las obras de vuestros padres, porque ellos los mataron y vosotros reedificáis (sus sepulcros). Clearly, you are testifying that you consent to the actions of your fathers, because even though they killed them, you build their sepulchers.49Por eso también la Sabiduría de Dios ha dicho: Yo les enviaré profetas y apóstoles; y de ellos matarán y perseguirán; Because of this also, the wisdom of God said: I will send to them Prophets and Apostles, and some of these they will kill or persecute,50para que se pida cuenta a esta generación de la sangre de todos los profetas que ha sido derramada desde la fundación del mundo, so that the blood of all the Prophets, which has been shed since the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation:51desde la sangre de Abel hasta la sangre de Zacarías, que fue matado entre el altar y el santuario. Sí, os digo se pedirá cuenta a esta generación. from the blood of Abel, even to the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary. So I say to you: it will be required of this generation!52¡Ay de vosotros! hombres de la Ley, porque vosotros os habéis apoderado de la llave del conocimiento; vosotros mismos no entrasteis, y a los que iban a entrar, vosotros se lo habéis impedido”. Woe to you, experts in the law! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You yourselves do not enter, and those who were entering, you would have prohibited.”53Cuando hubo salido, los escribas y los fariseos se pusieron a acosarlo vivamente y a quererle sacar respuestas sobre una multitud de cosas, Then, while he was saying these things to them, the Pharisees and the experts in the law began to insist strongly that he restrain his mouth about many things.54tendiéndole lazos para sorprender alguna palabra de su boca. And waiting to ambush him, they sought something from his mouth that they might seize upon, in order to accuse him.
