Lucas 17

1Dijo a sus discípulos: “Es inevitable que sobrevengan escándalos, pero, ¡ay de aquel por quien vienen! And he said to his disciples: “It is impossible for scandals not to occur. But woe to him through whom they come!2Más le valdría que le suspendiesen una piedra de molino alrededor del cuello, y lo echasen al mar, que escandalizar a uno de estos pequeños. It would be better for him if a millstone were placed around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than to lead astray one of these little ones.3Mirad por vosotros”. “Si uno de tus hermanos llega a pecar, repréndelo; y si se arrepiente, perdónalo. Be attentive to yourselves. If your brother has sinned against you, correct him. And if he has repented, forgive him.4Y si peca siete veces en un día contra ti, y siete veces vuelve a ti y te dice: «Me arrepiento», tú le perdonarás”. And if he has sinned against you seven times a day, and seven times a day has turned back to you, saying, ‘I am sorry,’ then forgive him.”5Y los apóstoles dijeron al Señor: “Añádenos fe”. And the Apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”6Y el Señor dijo: “Si tuvierais alguna fe, aunque no fuera más grande que un grano de mostaza, diríais a este sicomoro: “Desarráigate y plántate en el mar”, y él os obedecería. But the Lord said: “If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you may say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted, and be transplanted into the sea.’ And it would obey you.7¿Quién de vosotros, que tenga un servidor, labrador o pastor, le dirá cuando este vuelve del campo: “Pasa en seguida y ponte a la mesa?” But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, would say to him, as he was returning from the field, ‘Come in immediately; sit down to eat,’8¿No le dirá más bien: “Prepárame de comer; y ceñido sírveme luego hasta que yo haya comido y bebido, y después comerás y beberás tú?” and would not say to him: ‘Prepare my dinner; gird yourself and minister to me, while I eat and drink; and after these things, you shall eat and drink?’9¿Y acaso agradece al servidor por haber hecho lo que le mandó? Would he be grateful to that servant, for doing what he commanded him to do?10Así también vosotros, cuando hubiereis hecho todo lo que os está mandado, decid: “Somos siervos inútiles, lo que hicimos, estábamos obligados a hacerlo”. I think not. So too, when you have done all these things that have been taught to you, you should say: ‘We are useless servants. We have done what we should have done.’ ”11Siguiendo su camino hacia Jerusalén, pasaba entre Samaria y Galilea. And it happened that, while he was traveling to Jerusalem, he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.12Y al entrar en una aldea, diez hombres leprosos vinieron a su encuentro, los cuales se detuvieron a la distancia, And as he was entering a certain town, ten leprous men met him, and they stood at a distance.13y, levantando la voz, clamaron: “Maestro Jesús, ten misericordia de nosotros”. And they lifted up their voice, saying, “Jesus, Teacher, take pity on us.”14Viéndolos, les dijo: “Id, mostraos a los sacerdotes”. Y mientras iban quedaron limpios. And when he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And it happened that, as they were going, they were cleansed.15Uno de ellos, al ver que había sido sanado, se volvió glorificando a Dios en alta voz, And one of them, when he saw that he was cleansed, returned, magnifying God with a loud voice.16y cayó sobre su rostro a los pies de Jesús dándole gracias, y este era samaritano. And he fell face down before his feet, giving thanks. And this one was a Samaritan.17Entonces Jesús dijo: ¿No fueron limpiados los diez? ¿Y los nueve dónde están? And in response, Jesus said: “Were not ten made clean? And so where are the nine?18¿No hubo quien volviese a dar gloria a Dios sino este extranjero?” Was no one found who would return and give glory to God, except this foreigner?”19Y le dijo: “Levántate y vete; tu fe te ha salvado”. And he said to him: “Rise up, go forth. For your faith has saved you.”20Interrogado por los fariseos acerca de cuándo vendrá el reino de Dios, les respondió y dijo: “El reino de Dios no viene con advertencia, Then he was questioned by the Pharisees: “When does the kingdom of God arrive?” And in response, he said to them: “The kingdom of God arrives unobserved.21ni dirán: «¡Está aquí!» o «¡Está allí!» porque ya está el reino de Dios en medio de vosotros”. And so, they will not say, ‘Behold, it is here,’ or ‘Behold, it is there.’ For behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”22Dijo después a sus discípulos: “Vendrán días en que desearéis ver uno solo de los días del Hijo del hombre, y no lo veréis. And he said to his disciples: “The time will come when you will desire to see one day of the Son of man, and you will not see it.23Y cuando os digan: «¡Está allí!» o «¡Está aquí!» no vayáis allí y no corráis tras de él. And they will say to you, ‘Behold, he is here,’ and ‘Behold, he is there.’ Do not choose to go out, and do not follow them.24Porque, como el relámpago, fulgurando desde una parte del cielo, resplandece hasta la otra, así será el Hijo del hombre, en su día. For just as lightning flashes from under heaven and shines to whatever is under heaven, so also will the Son of man be in his day.25Mas primero es necesario que él sufra mucho y que sea rechazado por la generación esta. But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.26Y como fue en los días de Noé, así será también en los días del Hijo del hombre. And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of man.27Comían, bebían, se casaban (los hombres ), y eran dadas en matrimonio (las mujeres), hasta el día en que Noé entró en el arca, y vino el cataclismo y los hizo perecer a todos. They were eating and drinking; they were taking wives and being given in marriage, even until the day that Noah entered the ark. And the flood came and destroyed them all.28Asimismo, como fue en los días de Lot: comían, bebían, compraban, vendían, plantaban, edificaban; It shall be similar to what happened in the days of Lot. They were eating and drinking; they were buying and selling; they were planting and building.29mas el día en que Lot salió de Sodoma, cayó del cielo una lluvia de fuego y de azufre, y los hizo perecer a todos. Then, on the day that Lot departed from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and it destroyed them all.30Conforme a estas cosas será en el día en que el Hijo del hombre sea revelado. According to these things, so shall it be in the day when the Son of man will be revealed.31En aquel día, quien se encuentre sobre la azotea, y tenga sus cosas dentro de su casa, no baje a recogerlas; e igualmente, quien se encuentre en el campo, no se vuelva por las que dejó atrás. In that hour, whoever will be on the rooftop, with his goods in the house, let him not descend to take them. And whoever will be in the field, similarly, let him not turn back.32Acordaos de la mujer de Lot. Remember Lot’s wife.33El que procurare conservar su vida, la perderá; y el que la pierda, la hallará. Whoever has sought to save his life, will lose it; and whoever has lost it, will bring it back to life.34Yo os digo, que en aquella noche, dos hombres estarán reclinados a una misma mesa: el uno será tomado, el otro dejado; I say to you, in that night, there will be two in one bed. One will be taken up, and the other will be left behind.35dos mujeres estarán moliendo juntas: la una será tomada, la otra dejada. Two will be at the grindstone together. One will be taken up, and the other will be left behind. Two will be in the field. One will be taken up, and the other will be left behind.”36[Estarán dos en el campo; el uno será tomado, el otro dejado]”. Responding, they said to him, “Where, Lord?”37Entonces le preguntaron: “¿Dónde, Señor?” Les respondió: “Allí donde está el cadáver, allí se juntarán los buitres”. And he said to them, “Wherever the body will be, in that place also, the eagles shall be gathered together.”
