Lucas 1

And requesting a writing tablet, he wrote, saying: “His name is John.” And they all wondered.64Y al punto le fue abierta la boca y lengua, y se puso a hablar y a bendecir a Dios. Then, at once, his mouth was opened, and his tongue loosened, and he spoke, blessing God.65Y sobrecogió el temor a todos sus vecinos, y en toda la montaña de Judea se hablaba de todas estas cosas; And fear fell upon all of their neighbors. For you will go before the face of the Lord: to prepare his ways,77para dar a su pueblo el conocimiento de la salvación, en la remisión de sus pecados, to give knowledge of salvation to his people for the remission of their sins,78gracias a las entrañas misericordiosas de nuestro Dios, por las que nos visitará desde lo alto el Oriente, through the heart of the mercy of our God, by which, descending from on high, he has visited us,79para iluminar a los que en tinieblas y en sombra de muerte yacen, y dirigir nuestros pies por el camino de la paz”. to illuminate those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to direct our feet in the way of peace.”80Y el niño crecía y se fortalecía en espíritu, y habitó en los desiertos hasta el día de darse a conocer a Israel. And the child grew, and he was strengthened in spirit. And he was in the wilderness, until the day of his manifestation to Israel.
