Lucas 21
1Levantó los ojos y vio a los ricos que echaban sus dádivas en el arca de las ofrendas. And looking around, he saw the wealthy putting their donations into the offertory.2Y vio también a una viuda menesterosa, que echaba allí dos moneditas de cobre; Then he also saw a certain widow, a pauper, putting in two small brass coins.3y dijo: En verdad, os digo, esta viuda, la pobre, ha echado más que todos, And he said: “Truly, I say to you, that this poor widow has put in more than all the others.4pues todos estos de su abundancia echaron para las ofrendas de Dios, en tanto que esta echó de su propia indigencia todo el sustento que tenía”. For all these, out of their abundance, have added to the gifts for God. But she, out of what she needed, has put in all that she had to live on.”5Como algunos, hablando del Templo, dijesen que estaba adornado de hermosas piedras y dones votivos, dijo: And when some of them were saying, about the temple, that it was adorned with excellent stones and gifts, he said,6“Vendrán días en los cuales, de esto que veis, no quedará piedra sobre piedra que no sea destruida”. “These things that you see, the days will arrive when there will not be left behind stone upon stone, which is not thrown down.”7Le preguntaron: “Maestro, ¿cuándo ocurrirán estas cosas, y cuál será la señal para conocer que están a punto de suceder?” Then they questioned him, saying: “Teacher, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when these things will happen?”8Y Él dijo: “Mirad que no os engañen; porque vendrán muchos en mi nombre y dirán: «Yo soy; ya llegó el tiempo». No les sigáis. And he said: “Be cautious, lest you be seduced. For many will come in my name, saying: ‘For I am he,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ And so, do not choose to go after them.9Cuando oigáis hablar de guerras y revoluciones, no os turbéis; esto ha de suceder primero, pero no es en seguida el fin”. And when you will have heard of battles and seditions, do not be terrified. These things must happen first. But the end is not so soon.”10Entonces les dijo: “Pueblo se levantará contra pueblo, reino contra reino. Then he said to them: “People will rise up against people, and kingdom against kingdom.11Habrá grandes terremotos y, en diversos lugares, hambres y pestes; habrá también prodigios aterradores y grandes señales en el cielo. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and pestilences, and famines, and terrors from heaven; and there will be great signs.12Pero antes de todo esto, os prenderán; os perseguirán, os entregarán a las sinagogas y a las cárceles, os llevarán ante reyes y gobernadores a causa de mi nombre. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, handing you over to synagogues and into custody, dragging you before kings and governors, because of my name.13Esto os servirá para testimonio. And this will be an opportunity for you to give testimony.14Tened, pues, resuelto, en vuestros corazones no pensar antes como habéis de hablar en vuestra defensa, Therefore, set this in your hearts: that you should not consider in advance how you might respond.15porque Yo os daré boca y sabiduría a la cual ninguno de vuestros adversarios podrá resistir o contradecir. For I will give to you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries will not be able to resist or contradict.16Seréis entregados aun por padres y hermanos, y parientes y amigos; y harán morir a algunos de entre vosotros, And you will be handed over by your parents, and brothers, and relatives, and friends. And they will bring about the death of some of you.17y seréis odiados de todos a causa de mi nombre. And you will be hated by all because of my name.18Pero ni un cabello de vuestra cabeza se perderá. And yet, not a hair of your head will perish.19En vuestra perseverancia salvaréis vuestras almas”. By your patience, you shall possess your souls.20“Mas cuando veáis a Jerusalén cercada por ejércitos, sabed que su desolación está próxima. Then, when you will have seen Jerusalem encircled by an army, know then that its desolation has drawn near.21Entonces, los que estén en Judea, huyan a las montadas; los que estén en medio de ella salgan fuera; y los que estén en los campos, no vuelvan a entrar, Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and those who are in its midst withdraw, and those who are in the countryside not enter into it.22porque días de venganza son estos, de cumplimiento de todo lo que está escrito. For these are the days of retribution, so that all things may be fulfilled, which have been written.23¡Ay de las que estén encintas y de las que críen en aquellos días! Porque habrá gran apretura sobre la tierra, y gran cólera contra este pueblo. Then woe to those who are pregnant or nursing in those days. For there will be great distress upon the land and great wrath upon this people.24Y caerán a filo de espada, y serán deportados a todas las naciones, y Jerusalén será pisoteada por gentiles hasta que el tiempo de los gentiles sea cumplido”. And they will fall by the edge of the sword. And they will be led away as captives into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by the Gentiles, until the times of the nations are fulfilled.25“Y habrá señales en el sol, la luna y las estrellas y, sobre la tierra, ansiedad de las naciones, a causa de la confusión por el ruido del mar y la agitación (de sus olas). And there will be signs in the sun and the moon and the stars. And there will be, on earth, distress among the Gentiles, out of confusion at the roaring of the sea and of the waves:26Los hombres desfallecerán de espanto, a causa de la expectación de lo que ha de suceder en el mundo, porque las potencias de los cielos serán conmovidas. men withering away out of fear and out of apprehension over the things that will overwhelm the whole world. For the powers of the heavens will be moved.27Entonces es cuando verán al Hijo del Hombre viniendo en una nube con gran poder y grande gloria. And then they will see the Son of man coming on a cloud, with great power and majesty.28Mas cuando estas cosas comiencen a ocurrir, erguíos y levantad la cabeza, porque vuestra redención se acerca”. But when these things begin to happen, lift up your heads and look around you, because your redemption draws near.”29Y les dijo una parábola: “Mirad la higuera y los árboles todos: And he told them a comparison: “Take notice of the fig tree and of all the trees.30cuando veis que brotan, sabéis por vosotros mismos que ya se viene el verano. When presently they produce fruit from themselves, you know that summer is near.31Así también, cuando veáis que esto acontece, conoced que el reino de Dios está próximo. So you also, when you will have seen these things happen, know that the kingdom of God is near.32En verdad, os lo digo, no pasará la generación esta hasta que todo se haya verificado. Amen I say to you, this lineage shall not pass away, until all these things happen.33El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero mis palabras no pasarán. Heaven and earth shall pass away. But my words shall not pass away.34Mirad por vosotros mismos, no sea que vuestros corazones se carguen de glotonería y embriaguez, y con cuidados de esta vida, y que ese día no caiga sobre vosotros de improviso, But be attentive to yourselves, lest perhaps your hearts may be weighed down by self-indulgence and inebriation and the cares of this life. And then that day may overwhelm you suddenly.35como una red; porque vendrá sobre todos los habitantes de la tierra entera. For like a snare it will overwhelm all those who sit upon the face of the entire earth.36Velad, pues, y no ceséis de rogar para que podáis escapar a todas estas cosas que han de suceder, y estar en pie delante del Hijo del hombre”. And so, be vigilant, praying at all times, so that you may be held worthy to escape from all these things, which are in the future, and to stand before the Son of man.”37Durante el día enseñaba en el Templo, pero iba a pasar la noche en el monte llamado de los Olivos. Now in the daytime, he was teaching in the temple. But truly, departing in the evening, he lodged on the mount that is called Olivet.38Y todo el pueblo, muy de mañana acudía a Él en el Templo para escucharlo. And all the people arrived in the morning to listen to him in the temple.
