Lucas 22

1Se aproximaba la fiesta de los Ázimos, llamada la Pascua. Now the days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which is called Passover, were approaching.2Andaban los sumos sacerdotes y los escribas buscando cómo conseguirían hacer morir a Jesús, pues temían al pueblo. And the leaders of the priests, and the scribes, were seeking a way to execute Jesus. Yet truly, they were afraid of the people.3Entonces, entró Satanás en Judas por sobrenombre Iscariote, que era del número de los Doce. Then Satan entered into Judas, who was surnamed Iscariot, one of the twelve.4Y se fue a tratar con los sumos sacerdotes y los oficiales (de la guardia del Templo) de cómo lo entregaría a ellos. And he went out and was speaking with the leaders of the priests, and the magistrates, as to how he might hand him over to them.5Mucho se felicitaron, y convinieron con él en darle dinero. And they were glad, and so they made an agreement to give him money.6Y Judas empeñó su palabra, y buscaba una ocasión para entregárselo a espaldas del pueblo. And he made a promise. And he was seeking an opportunity to hand him over, apart from the crowds.7Llegó, pues, el día de los Ázimos, en que se debía inmolar la pascua. Then the day of Unleavened Bread arrived, on which it was necessary to kill the Pascal lamb.8Y envió (Jesús) a Pedro y a Juan, diciéndoles: “Id a prepararnos la Pascua, para que la podamos comer”. And he sent Peter and John, saying, “Go out, and prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat.”9Le preguntaron: “Dónde quieres que la preparemos?” But they said, “Where do you want us to prepare it?”10Él les respondió. “Cuando entréis en la ciudad, encontraréis a un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua; seguidlo hasta la casa en que entre. And he said to them: “Behold, as you are entering into the city, a certain man will meet you, carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him to the house into which he enters.11Y diréis al dueño de casa: “El Maestro te manda decir: ¿Dónde está el aposento en que comeré la pascua con mis discípulos?” And you shall say to the father of the household: ‘The Teacher says to you: Where is the guestroom, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’12Y él mismo os mostrará una sala del piso alto, amplia y amueblada; disponed allí lo que es menester”. And he will show you a large cenacle, fully furnished. And so, prepare it there.”13Partieron y encontraron todo como Él les había dicho, y prepararon la pascua. And going out, they found it to be just as he had told them. And they prepared the Passover.14Y cuando llegó la hora, se puso a la mesa, y los apóstoles con Él. And when the hour had arrived, he sat down at table, and the twelve Apostles with him.15Díjoles entonces: “De todo corazón he deseado comer esta pascua con vosotros antes de sufrir. And he said to them: “With longing have I desired to eat this Passover with you, before I suffer.16Porque os digo que Yo no la volveré a comer hasta que ella tenga su plena realización en el reino de Dios”. For I say to you, that from this time, I will not eat it, until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”17Y, habiendo recibido un cáliz dio gracias y dijo: “Tomadlo y repartíoslo. And having taken the chalice, he gave thanks, and he said: “Take this and share it among yourselves.18Porque, os digo, desde ahora no bebo del fruto de la vid hasta que venga el reino de Dios”. For I say to you, that I will not drink from the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God arrives.”19Y habiendo tomado pan y dado gracias, (lo) rompió, y les dio diciendo: “Este es el cuerpo mío, el que se da para vosotros. Haced esto en memoria mía”. And taking bread, he gave thanks and broke it and gave it to them, saying: “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this as a commemoration of me.”20Y asimismo el cáliz, después que hubieron cenado, diciendo: “Este cáliz es la nueva alianza en mi sangre, que se derrama para vosotros. Similarly also, he took the chalice, after he had eaten the meal, saying: “This chalice is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.21Sin embargo, ved: la mano del que me entrega está conmigo a la mesa. But in truth, behold, the hand of my betrayer is with me at table.22Porque el Hijo del hombre se va, según lo decretado, pero ¡ay del hombre por quien es entregado!” And indeed, the Son of man goes according to what has been determined. And yet, woe to that man by whom he will be betrayed.”23Y se pusieron a preguntarse entre sí quién de entre ellos sería el que iba a hacer esto. And they began to inquire among themselves, as to which of them might do this.24Hubo también entre ellos una discusión sobre quién de ellos parecía ser mayor. Now there was also a contention among them, as to which of them seemed to be the greater.25Pero Él les dijo: “Los reyes de las naciones les hacen sentir su dominación, y los que ejercen sobre ellas el poder son llamados bienhechores. And he said to them: “The kings of the Gentiles dominate them; and those who hold authority over them are called beneficent.26No así vosotros; sino que el mayor entre vosotros sea como el menor; y el que manda, como quien sirve. But it must not be so with you. Instead, whoever is greater among you, let him become the lesser. And whoever is the leader, let him become the server.27Pues ¿quién es mayor, el que está sentado a la mesa, o el que sirve? ¿No es acaso el que está sentado a la mesa? Sin embargo, Yo estoy entre vosotros como el sirviente. For who is greater: he who sits at table, or he who serves? Is not he who sits at table? Yet I am in your midst as one who serves.28Vosotros sois los que habéis perseverado conmigo en mis pruebas. But you are those who have remained with me during my trials.29Y Yo os confiero dignidad real como mi Padre me la ha conferido a Mí, And I dispose to you, just as my Father has disposed to me, a kingdom,30para que comáis y bebáis a mi mesa en, mi reino, y os sentéis sobre tronos, para juzgar a las doce tribus de Israel. so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and so that you may sit upon thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”31Simón Simón, mira que Satanás os ha reclamado para zarandearos como se hace con el trigo. And the Lord said: “Simon, Simon! Behold, Satan has asked for you, so that he may sift you like wheat.32Pero Yo he rogado por ti, a fin de que tu fe no desfallezca. Y tú, una vez convertido, confirma a tus hermanos. But I have prayed for you, so that your faith may not fail, and so that you, once converted, may confirm your brothers.”33Pedro le respondió: “Señor, yo estoy pronto para ir contigo a la cárcel y a la muerte”. And he said to him, “Lord, I am prepared to go with you, even to prison and to death.”34Mas Él le dijo: “Yo te digo, Pedro, el gallo no cantará hoy, hasta que tres veces hayas negado conocerme”. And he said, “I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow this day, until you have three times denied that you know me.” And he said to them,35Y les dijo: “Cuando Yo os envié sin bolsa, ni alforja, ni calzado, ¿os faltó alguna cosa?” Respondieron: “Nada”. “When I sent you without money or provisions or shoes, did you lack anything?”36Y agregó: “Pues bien, ahora, el que tiene una bolsa, tómela consigo, e igualmente la alforja; y quien no tenga, venda su manto y compre una espada. And they said, “Nothing.” Then he said to them: “But now, let whoever has money take it, and likewise with provisions. And whoever does not have these, let him sell his coat and buy a sword.37Porque Yo os digo, que esta palabra de la Escritura debe todavía cumplirse en Mí: «Y ha sido contado entre los malhechores». Y así, lo que a Mí se refiere, toca a su fin”. For I say to you, that what has been written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘And he was esteemed with the wicked.’ Yet even these things about me have an end.”38Le dijeron: “Señor, aquí hay dos espadas”. Les contestó: “Basta”. So they said, “Lord, behold, there are two swords here.” But he said to them, “It is sufficient.”39Salió y marchó, como de costumbre, al Monte de los Olivos, y sus discípulos lo acompañaron. And departing, he went out, according to his custom, to the Mount of Olives. And his disciples also followed him.40Cuando estuvo en ese lugar, les dijo: “Rogad que no entréis en tentación”. And when he had arrived at the place, he said to them: “Pray, lest you enter into temptation.”41Y se alejó de ellos a distancia como de un tiro de piedra, And he was separated from them by about a stone’s throw. And kneeling down, he prayed,42y, habiéndose arrodillado, oró así: “Padre, si quieres, aparta de Mí este cáliz, pero no se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya”. saying: “Father, if you are willing, take this chalice away from me. Yet truly, let not my will, but yours, be done.”43Y se le apareció del cielo un ángel y lo confortaba. Then an Angel appeared to him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in agony, he prayed more intensely;44Y entrando en agonía, oraba sin cesar. Y su sudor fue como gotas de sangre, que caían sobre la tierra. and so his sweat became like drops of blood, running down to the ground.45Cuando se levantó de la oración, fue a sus discípulos, y los halló durmiendo, a causa de la tristeza. And when he had risen up from prayer and had gone to his disciples, he found them sleeping out of sorrow.46Y les dijo: “¿Por qué dormís? Levantaos y orad, para que no entréis en tentación”. And he said to them: “Why are you sleeping? Rise up, pray, lest you enter into temptation.”47Estaba todavía hablando, cuando llegó una tropa, y el que se llamaba Judas, uno de los Doce, iba a la cabeza de ellos, y se acercó a Jesús para besarlo. While he was still speaking, behold, a crowd arrived. And he who is called Judas, one of the twelve, went ahead of them and approached Jesus, in order to kiss him.48Jesús le dijo: “Judas, ¿con un beso entregas al Hijo del Hombre?” And Jesus said to him, “Judas, do you betray the Son of man with a kiss?”49Los que estaban con Él, viendo lo que iba a suceder, le dijeron: “Señor, ¿golpearemos con la espada?” Then those who were around him, realizing what was about to happen, said to him: “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”50Y uno de ellos dio un golpe al siervo del sumo sacerdote, y le separó la oreja derecha. And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.51Jesús, empero, respondió y dijo: “Sufrid aun esto”; y tocando la oreja la sanó. But in response, Jesus said, “Permit even this.” And when he had touched his ear, he healed him.52Después Jesús dijo a los que habían venido contra Él, sumos sacerdotes, oficiales del Templo y ancianos: “¿Cómo contra un ladrón salisteis con espadas y palos? Then Jesus said to the leaders of the priests, and the magistrates of the temple, and the elders, who had come to him: “Have you gone out, as if against a thief, with swords and clubs?53Cada día estaba Yo con vosotros en el Templo, y no habéis extendido las manos contra Mí. Pero esta es la hora vuestra, y la potestad de la tiniebla”. When I was with you each day in the temple, you did not extend your hands against me. But this is your hour and that of the power of darkness.”54Entonces lo prendieron, lo llevaron y lo hicieron entrar en la casa del Sumo Sacerdote. Y Pedro seguía de lejos. And apprehending him, they led him to the house of the high priest. Yet truly, Peter followed at a distance.55Cuando encendieron fuego en medio del patio, y se sentaron alrededor, vino Pedro a sentarse entre ellos. Now as they were sitting around a fire, which had been kindled in the middle of the atrium, Peter was in their midst.56Mas una sirvienta lo vio sentado junto al fuego y, fijando en él su mirada, dijo: “Este también estaba con Él”. And when a certain woman servant had seen him sitting in its light, and had looked at him intently, she said, “This one was also with him.”57Él lo negó, diciendo: “Mujer, yo no lo conozco”. But he denied him by saying, “Woman, I do not know him.”58Un poco después, otro lo vio y le dijo: “Tú también eres de ellos”. Pero Pedro dijo: “Hombre, no lo soy”. And after a little while, another one, seeing him, said, “You also are one of them.” Yet Peter said, “O man, I am not.”59Después de un intervalo como de una hora, otro afirmó con fuerza: “Ciertamente, este estaba con Él; porque es también un galileo”. And after the interval of about one hour had passed, someone else affirmed it, saying: “Truly, this one also was with him. For he is also a Galilean.”60Mas Pedro dijo: “Hombre, no sé lo que dices”. Al punto, y cuando él hablaba todavía, un gallo cantó. And Peter said: “Man, I do not know what you are saying.” And at once, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.61Y el Señor se volvió para mirar a Pedro, y Pedro se acordó de la palabra del Señor, según lo había dicho: “Antes que el gallo cante hoy, tú me negarás tres veces”. And the Lord turned around and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord that he had said: “For before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”62Y salió fuera y lloró amargamente. And going out, Peter wept bitterly.63Y los hombres que lo tenían (a Jesús), se burlaban de Él y lo golpeaban. And the men who were holding him ridiculed him and beat him.64Y habiéndole velado la faz, le preguntaban diciendo: “¡Adivina! ¿Quién es el que te golpeó?” And they blindfolded him and repeatedly struck his face. And they questioned him, saying: “Prophesy! Who is it that struck you?”65Y proferían contra Él muchas otras palabras injuriosas. And blaspheming in many other ways, they spoke against him.66Cuando se hizo de día, se reunió la asamblea de los ancianos del pueblo, los sumos sacerdotes y escribas, y lo hicieron comparecer ante el Sanhedrín, And when it was daytime, the elders of the people, and the leaders of the priests, and the scribes convened. And they led him into their council, saying, “If you are the Christ, tell us.”67diciendo: “Si Tú eres el Cristo, dínoslo”. Mas les respondió: “Si os hablo, no me creeréis, And he said to them: “If I tell you, you will not believe me.68y si os pregunto, no me responderéis. And if I also question you, you will not answer me. Neither will you release me.69Pero desde ahora el Hijo del hombre estará sentado a la diestra del poder de Dios”. But from this time, the Son of man will be sitting at the right hand of the power of God.”70Y todos le preguntaron: “¿Luego eres Tú el Hijo de Dios?” Les respondió: “Vosotros lo estáis diciendo: Yo soy”. Then they all said, “So you are the Son of God?” And he said. “You are saying that I am.”71Entonces dijeron: “¿Qué necesidad tenemos ya de testimonio? Nosotros mismos acabamos de oírlo de su boca”. And they said: “Why do we still require testimony? For we have heard it ourselves, from his own mouth.”
