Lucas 24
1Pero el primer día de la semana, muy de mañana, volvieron al sepulcro, llevando los aromas que habían preparado. Then, on the first Sabbath, at very first light, they went to the tomb, carrying the aromatic spices that they had prepared.2hallaron la piedra desarrimada del sepulcro. And they found the stone rolled back from the tomb.3Habiendo entrado, no encontraron el cuerpo del Señor Jesús. And upon entering, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.4Mientras ellas estaban perplejas por esto, he ahí que dos varones de vestidura resplandeciente se les presentaron. And it happened that, while their minds were still confused about this, behold, two men stood beside them, in shining apparel.5Como ellas estuviesen poseídas de miedo e inclinasen los rostros hacia el suelo, ellos les dijeron: “¿Por qué buscáis entre los muertos al que vive? Then, since they were afraid and were turning their faces toward the ground, these two said to them: “Why do you seek the living with the dead?6No está aquí; ha resucitado. Acordaos de lo que os dijo, estando aún en Galilea: He is not here, for he has risen. Recall how he spoke to you, when he was still in Galilee,7que era necesario que el Hijo del hombre fuese entregado en manos de hombres pecadores, que fuese crucificado y resucitara el tercer día”. saying: ‘For the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.’ ”8Entonces se acordaron de sus palabras. And they called to mind his words.9Y de vuelta del sepulcro, fueron a anunciar todo esto a los Once y a todos los demás. And returning from the tomb, they reported all these things to the eleven, and to all the others.10Eran María la Magdalena, Juana y María la (madre) de Santiago; y también las otras con ellas referían esto a los apóstoles. Now it was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary of James, and the other women who were with them, who told these things to the Apostles.11Pero estos relatos aparecieron ante los ojos de ellos como un delirio, y no les dieron crédito. But these words seemed to them a delusion. And so they did not believe them.12Sin embargo Pedro se levantó y corrió al sepulcro, y, asomándose, vio las mortajas solas. Y se volvió, maravillándose de lo que había sucedido. But Peter, rising up, ran to the tomb. And stooping down, he saw the linen cloths positioned alone, and he went away wondering to himself about what had happened.13Y he aquí que, en aquel mismo día, dos de ellos se dirigían a una aldea, llamada Emaús, a ciento sesenta estadios de Jerusalén. And behold, two of them went out, on the same day, to a town named Emmaus, which was the distance of sixty stadia from Jerusalem.14E iban comentando entre sí todos estos acontecimientos. And they spoke to one another about all of these things that had occurred.15Y sucedió que, mientras ellos platicaban y discutían, Jesús mismo se acercó y se puso a caminar con ellos. And it happened that, while they were speculating and questioning within themselves, Jesus himself, drawing near, traveled with them.16Pero sus ojos estaban deslumbrados para que no lo conociesen. But their eyes were restrained, so that they would not recognize him.17Y les dijo: “¿Qué palabras son estas que tratáis entre vosotros andando?” And he said to them, “What are these words, which you are discussing with one another, as you walk and are sad?”18Y se detuvieron con los rostros entristecidos. Uno, llamado Cleofás, le respondió: “Eres Tú el único peregrino, que estando en Jerusalén, no sabes lo que ha sucedido en ella en estos días?” And one of them, whose name was Cleopas, responded by saying to him, “Are you the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?”19Les dijo: “¿Qué cosas?” Y ellos: “Lo de Jesús el Nazareno, que fue varón profeta, poderoso en obra y palabra delante de Dios y de todo el pueblo, And he said to them, “What things?” And they said, “About Jesus of Nazareth, who was a noble prophet, powerful in works and in words, before God and all the people.20y cómo lo entregaron nuestros sumos sacerdotes y nuestros magistrados para ser condenado a muerte, y lo crucificaron. And how our high priests and leaders handed him over to be condemned to death. And they crucified him.21Nosotros, a la verdad, esperábamos que fuera Él, aquel que habría de librar a Israel. Pero, con todo, ya es el tercer día desde que sucedieron estas cosas. But we were hoping that he would be the Redeemer of Israel. And now, on top of all this, today is the third day since these things have happened.22Y todavía más, algunas mujeres de los nuestros, nos han desconcertado, pues fueron de madrugada al sepulcro, Then, too, certain women from among us terrified us. For before daytime, they were at the tomb,23y no habiendo encontrado su cuerpo se volvieron, diciendo también que ellas habían tenido una visión de ángeles, los que dicen que Él está vivo. and, having not found his body, they returned, saying that they had even seen a vision of Angels, who said that he is alive.24Algunos de los que están con nosotros han ido al sepulcro, y han encontrado las cosas como las mujeres habían dicho; pero a Él no lo han visto”. And some of us went out to the tomb. And they found it just as the women had said. But truly, they did not find him.”25Entonces les dijo: “¡Oh hombres sin inteligencia y tardos de corazón para creer todo lo que han dicho los profetas! And he said to them: “How foolish and reluctant in heart you are, to believe everything that has been spoken by the Prophets!26¿No era necesario que el Cristo sufriese así para entrar en su gloria?” Was not the Christ required to suffer these things, and so enter into his glory?”27Y comenzando por Moisés, y por todos los profetas, les hizo hermenéutica de lo que en todas las Escrituras había acerca de Él. And beginning from Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted for them, in all the Scriptures, the things that were about him.28Se aproximaron a la aldea a donde iban, y Él hizo ademán de ir más lejos. And they drew near to the town where they were going. And he conducted himself so as to go on further.29Pero ellos le hicieron fuerza, diciendo: “Quédate con nosotros, porque es tarde, y ya ha declinado el día”. Y entró para quedarse con ellos. But they were insistent with him, saying, “Remain with us, because it is toward evening and now daylight is declining.” And so he entered with them.30Y estando con ellos a la mesa, tomó el pan, lo bendijo, lo partió y les dio. And it happened that, while he was at table with them, he took bread, and he blessed and broke it, and he extended it to them.31Entonces los ojos de ellos fueron abiertos y lo reconocieron; mas Él desapareció de su vista. And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their eyes.32Y se dijeron uno a otro: “¿No es verdad que nuestro corazón estaba ardiendo dentro de nosotros, mientras nos hablaba en el camino, mientras nos abría las Escrituras?”. And they said to one another, “Was not our heart burning within us, while he was speaking on the way, and when he opened the Scriptures to us?”33Y levantándose en aquella misma hora, se volvieron a Jerusalén y encontraron reunidos a los Once y a los demás, And rising up at that same hour, they returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,34los cuales dijeron: “Realmente resucitó el Señor y se ha aparecido a Simón”. saying: “In truth, the Lord has risen, and he has appeared to Simon.”35Y ellos contaron lo que les había pasado en el camino, y cómo se hizo conocer de ellos en la fracción del pan. And they explained the things that were done on the way, and how they had recognized him at the breaking of the bread.36Aún estaban hablando de esto cuando Él mismo se puso en medio de ellos diciendo: “Paz a vosotros”. Then, while they were talking about these things, Jesus stood in their midst, And he said to them: “Peace be with you. It is I. Do not be afraid.”37Mas ellos, turbados y atemorizados, creían ver un espíritu. Yet truly, they were very disturbed and terrified, supposing that they saw a spirit.38Él entonces les dijo: “¿Por qué estáis turbados? y ¿por qué se levantan dudas en vuestros corazones? And he said to them: “Why are you disturbed, and why do these thoughts rise up in your hearts?39Mirad mis manos y mis pies: soy Yo mismo. Palpadme y ved que un espíritu no tiene carne ni huesos, como veis que Yo tengo”. See my hands and feet, that it is I myself. Look and touch. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”40Y diciendo esto, les mostró sus manos y sus pies. And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet.41Como aún desconfiaran, de pura alegría, y se estuvieran asombrados, les dijo: “¿Tenéis por ahí algo de comer?” Then, while they were still in disbelief and in wonder out of joy, he said, “Do you have anything here to eat?”42Le dieron un trozo de pez asado. And they offered him a piece of roasted fish and a honeycomb.43Lo tomó y se lo comió a la vista de ellos. And when he had eaten these in their sight, taking up what was left, he gave it to them.44Después les dijo: “Esto es aquello que Yo os decía, cuando estaba todavía con vosotros, que es necesario que todo lo que está escrito acerca de Mí en la Ley de Moisés, en los Profetas y en los Salmos se cumpla”. And he said to them: “These are the words that I spoke to you when I was still with you, because all things must be fulfilled which are written in the law of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms about me.”45Entonces les abrió la inteligencia para que comprendiesen las Escrituras. Then he opened their mind, so that they might understand the Scriptures.46Y les dijo: “Así estaba escrito que el Cristo sufriese y resucitase de entre los muertos al tercer día, And he said to them: “For so it is written, and so it was necessary, for the Christ to suffer and to rise up from the dead on the third day,47y que se predicase, en su nombre el arrepentimiento y el perdón de los pecados a todas las naciones, comenzando por Jerusalén. and, in his name, for repentance and the remission of sins to be preached, among all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.48Vosotros sois testigos de estas cosas. And you are witnesses of these things.49Y he aquí que Yo envío sobre vosotros la Promesa de mi Padre. Mas vosotros estaos quedos en la ciudad hasta que desde lo alto seáis investidos de fuerza. And I am sending the Promise of my Father upon you. But you must stay in the city, until such time as you are clothed with power from on high.”50Y los sacó fuera hasta frente a Betania y, alzando sus manos, los bendijo. Then he led them out as far as Bethania. And lifting up his hands, he blessed them.51Mientras los bendecía, se separó de ellos y fue elevado hacia el cielo. And it happened that, while he was blessing them, he withdrew from them, and he was carried up into heaven.52Ellos lo adoraron y se volvieron a Jerusalén con gran gozo. And worshiping, they returned to Jerusalem with great joy.53Y estaban constantemente en el Templo, alabando y bendiciendo a Dios. And they were always in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
