Lucas 5
1Y sucedió que la muchedumbre se agolpaba sobre Él para oír la palabra de Dios, estando Jesús de pie junto al lago de Genesaret. Now it happened that, when the crowds pressed toward him, so that they might hear the word of God, he was standing beside the lake of Genesaret.2Y viendo dos barcas amarradas a la orilla del lago, cuyos pescadores habían descendido y lavaban sus redes, And he saw two boats standing beside the lake. But the fishermen had climbed down, and they were washing their nets.3subió en una de aquellas, la que era de Simón, y rogó a este que la apartara un poco de la tierra. Y sentado, enseñaba a la muchedumbre desde la barca. And so, climbing into one of the boats, which belonged to Simon, he asked him to draw back a little from the land. Then, when he had ceased speaking, he said to Simon, “Lead us into deep water, and release your nets for a catch.”5Respondiole Simón y dijo: “Maestro, toda la noche estuvimos bregando y no pescamos nada, pero, sobre tu palabra, echaré las redes”. And in response, Simon said to him: “Teacher, working throughout the night, we caught nothing. But on your word, I will release the net.”6Lo hicieron, y apresaron una gran cantidad de peces. And when they had done this, they enclosed such a copious multitude of fish that their net was rupturing.7Entonces hicieron señas a los compañeros, de la otra barca, para que viniesen a ayudarles. And they came and filled both boats, so that they were nearly submerged.8Visto lo cual, Simón Pedro se echó a los pies de Jesús, y le dijo: “¡Apártate de mí, Señor, porque yo soy un pecador!” But when Simon Peter had seen this, he fell down at the knees of Jesus, saying, “Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.”9Es que el estupor se había apoderado de él y de todos sus compañeros, por la pesca que habían hecho juntos; For astonishment had enveloped him, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish that they had taken.10y lo mismo de Santiago y Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que eran socios de Pedro. Y Jesús dijo a Simón: “No temas; desde ahora pescarás hombres”. Now the same was true of James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were associates of Simon. And Jesus said to Simon: “Do not be afraid. From now on, you will be catching men.”11Llevaron las barcas a tierra y, dejando todo, se fueron con Él. And having led their boats to land, leaving behind everything, they followed him.12Encontrándose Él en cierta ciudad, presentose un hombre cubierto de lepra. And it happened that, while he was in a certain city, behold, there was a man full of leprosy who, upon seeing Jesus and falling to his face, petitioned him, saying: “Lord, if you are willing, you are able to cleanse me.”13Alargando la mano, lo tocó y dijo: “Quiero; sé limpiado”. Y al punto se le fue la lepra. And extending his hand, he touched him, saying: “I am willing. Be cleansed.” And at once, the leprosy departed from him.14Y le encargó que no lo dijera a nadie, sino (le dijo): “Muéstrate al sacerdote, y ofrece por tu purificación lo que prescribió Moisés, para testimonio a ellos”. And he instructed him that he should tell no one, “But go, show yourself to the priest, and make the offering for your cleansing, just as Moses has commanded, as a testimony for them.”15Y difundiéndose más y más la fama de Él, las muchedumbres afluían en gran número para oírle y hacerse curar de sus enfermedades; Yet word of him traveled around all the more. And great crowds came together, so that they might listen and be cured by him from their infirmities.16pero Él se retiraba a los lugares solitarios, para hacer oración. And he withdrew into the desert and prayed.17Un día estaba ocupado en enseñar, y unos fariseos y maestros de la Ley estaban ahí sentados, habiendo venido de todas las aldeas de Galilea, y de Judea, así como de Jerusalén, y el poder del Señor le impelía a sanar. And it happened, on a certain day, that he again sat down, teaching. And there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting nearby, who had come from every town of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present, to heal them.18Y sucedió que unos hombres, que traían postrado sobre un lecho un paralítico, trataban de ponerlo dentro y colocarlo delante de Él. And behold, some men were carrying in the bed of a man who was paralyzed. And they sought a way to bring him in, and to place him before him.19Y como no lograban introducirlo a causa de la apretura de gentes, subieron sobre el techo y por entre las tejas bajaron al enfermo, con la camilla, en medio (de todos), frente a Jesús. And not finding a way by which they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they climbed up to the roof, and they let him down through the roof tiles with his bed, into their midst, in front of Jesus.20Viendo la fe de ellos, dijo: “Hombre, tus pecados te son perdonados”. And when he saw his faith, he said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”21Comenzaron entonces los escribas y los fariseos a pensar: “¿Quién es Este que dice blasfemias? ¿Quién puede perdonar pecados sino solo Dios?” And the scribes and Pharisees began to think, saying: “Who is this, who is speaking blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins, except God alone?”22Mas Jesús, conociendo bien los pensamientos de ellos, respondioles diciendo: But when Jesus realized their thoughts, responding, he said to them: “What are you thinking in your hearts?23“¿Qué estáis pensando en vuestro corazón? ¿Qué es más fácil, decir: “Tus pecados te son perdonados”, o decir: “Levántate y anda?” Which is easier to say: ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk?’24¡Y bien! para que sepáis que el Hijo del hombre tiene en la tierra potestad de perdonar pecados —dijo al paralitico— “A ti te digo: Levántate, toma tu camilla y ve a tu casa”. But so that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” he said to the paralytic, “I say to you to: Rise up, take up your bed, and go into your house.”25Al punto se levantó, a la vista de ellos, tomó el lecho sobre el cual había estado acostado, y se fue a su casa glorificando a Dios. And at once, rising up in their sight, he took up the bed on which he was lying, and he went away to his own house, magnifying God.26Y todos quedaron sobrecogidos de asombro y glorificaban a Dios; y penetrados de temor decían: “Hemos visto hoy cosas paradójicas”. And astonishment took hold of everyone, and they were magnifying God. And they were filled with fear, saying: “For we have seen miracles today.”27Después de esto se fue, y fijándose en un publicano llamado Leví, que estaba en la recaudación de los tributos, le dijo: “Sígueme”. And after these things, he went out, and he saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the customs office. And he said to him, “Follow me.”28Y este, dejándolo todo, se levantó y le siguió. And leaving behind everything, rising up, he followed him.29Ahora bien, Leví le ofreció un gran festín en su casa, y había allí un grupo numeroso de publicanos y otras personas que estaban a la mesa con ellos; And Levi made a great feast for him in his own house. And there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others, who were sitting at table with them.30y los fariseos y los escribas de entre ellos se pusieron a murmurar contra los discípulos de Jesús y decían: “¿Por qué coméis y bebéis con los publicanos y los pecadores?” But the Pharisees and scribes were murmuring, saying to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”31Respondió Jesús y les dijo: “No necesitan médico los sanos, sino los enfermos. And responding, Jesus said to them: “It is not those who are well who need a doctor, but those who have maladies.32Yo no he venido para convidar al arrepentimiento a los justos sino a los pecadores”. I have not come to call the just, but sinners to repentance.”33Entonces le dijeron: “Los discípulos de Juan ayunan con frecuencia y hacen súplicas, e igualmente los de los fariseos, pero los tuyos comen y beben”. But they said to him, “Why do the disciples of John fast frequently, and make supplications, and those of the Pharisees act similarly, while yours eat and drink?”34Mas Jesús les dijo: “¿Podéis hacer ayunar a los compañeros del esposo, mientras está con ellos el esposo? And he said to them: “How can you cause the sons of the groom to fast, while the groom is still with them?35Un tiempo vendrá, en que el esposo les será quitado; entonces, en aquellos días ayunarán”. But the days will come when the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast, in those days.”36Y les dijo también una parábola: “Nadie corta un pedazo de un vestido nuevo para ponerlo (de remiendo), a un vestido viejo; pues si lo hace, no solo romperá el nuevo, sino que el pedazo cortado al nuevo no andará bien con el viejo. Then he also made a comparison for them: “For no one sews a patch from a new garment onto an old garment. Otherwise, he both disrupts the new one, and the patch from the new one does not join together with the old one.37Nadie, tampoco, echa vino nuevo en cueros viejos; pues procediendo así, el vino nuevo hará reventar los cueros, y se derramará, y los cueros se perderán. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine ruptures the wineskins, and it will be poured out, and the wineskins will be lost.38Sino que el vino nuevo ha de echarse en cueros nuevos. Instead, the new wine is put into new wineskins, and both are preserved.39Y nadie que bebe de lo viejo quiere luego de lo nuevo, porque dice: “el viejo es excelente”. And no one who is drinking the old, soon wishes for the new. For he says, ‘The old is better.’ ”
