Lucas 6
1Un día sabático iba Él pasando a través de unos sembrados, y sus discípulos arrancaban espigas y las comían, después de estregarlas entre las manos. Now it happened that, on the second first Sabbath, as he passed through the grain field, his disciples were separating the ears of grain and eating them, by rubbing them in their hands.2Entonces algunos de los fariseos dijeron: “¿Por qué hacéis lo que no es lícito hacer en sábado?” Then certain Pharisees said to them, “Why are you doing what is not lawful on the Sabbaths?”3Jesús les respondió y dijo: “¿No habéis leído siquiera lo que hizo David cuando tuvieron hambre, él y los que le acompañaban; And responding to them, Jesus said: “Have you not read this, what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him?4cómo entró en la casa de Dios, y tomando los panes de la proposición, que no pueden comer sino los sacerdotes, comió y dio a sus compañeros?” How he entered into the house of God, and took the bread of the Presence, and ate it, and gave it to those who were with him, though it is not lawful for anyone to eat it, except the priests alone?”5Y díjoles: “El Hijo del hombre es señor aun del sábado”. And he said to them, “For the Son of man is Lord, even of the Sabbath.”6Otro día sabático entró en la sinagoga para enseñar. Y había allí un hombre cuya mano derecha estaba seca. And it happened that, on another Sabbath, he entered into the synagogue, and he taught. And there was a man there, and his right hand was withered.7Los escribas y los fariseos lo acechaban, para ver si sanaría en sábado, y hallar así acusación contra Él. And the scribes and Pharisees observed whether he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might thereby find an accusation against him.8Pero Él conocía los pensamientos de ellos, y dijo al hombre, que tenía la mano seca: “¡Levántate y ponte de pie en medio!” Y este se levantó y permaneció de pie. Yet truly, he knew their thoughts, and so he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Rise up and stand in the middle.” And rising up, he stood still.9Entonces Jesús les dijo: “Os pregunto: ¿Es lícito, en sábado, hacer el bien o hacer el mal, salvar una vida o dejarla perder?” Then Jesus said to them: “I ask you if it is lawful on the Sabbaths to do good, or to do evil? To give health to a life, or to destroy it?”10Y habiéndolos mirado a todos en derredor, dijo al hombre: “Extiende tu mano”, y él lo hizo y su mano fue restablecida. And looking around at everyone, he said to the man, “Extend your hand.” And he extended it. And his hand was restored.11Pero ellos se llenaron de furor y se pusieron a discutir unos con otros qué harían contra Jesús. Then they were filled with madness, and they discussed with one another, what, in particular, they might do about Jesus.12Por aquellos días se salió a la montaña para orar, y pasó toda la noche en oración con Dios. And it happened that, in those days, he went out to a mountain to pray. And he was in the prayer of God throughout the night.13Cuando se hizo de día, llamó a sus discípulos, y de entre ellos eligió a doce a los que dio el nombre de apóstoles: And when daylight had arrived, he called his disciples. And he chose twelve out of them (whom he also named Apostles):14a Simón, a quien también llamó Pedro, y a Andrés el hermano de este; a Santiago y Juan; a Felipe y Bartolomé; Simon, whom he surnamed Peter, and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,15a Mateo y Tomás; a Santiago (hijo) de Alfeo, y Simón llamado el celoso; Matthew and Thomas, James of Alphaeus, and Simon who is called the Zealot,16a Judas de Santiago, y a Judas Iscariote, el que llegó a ser el traidor. and Jude of James, and Judas Iscariot, who was a traitor.17Con estos descendió y se estuvo de pie en un lugar llano, donde había un gran número de sus discípulos y una gran muchedumbre del pueblo de toda la Judea y de Jerusalén, y de la costa de Tiro y de Sidón, And descending with them, he stood in a level place with a multitude of his disciples, and a copious multitude of people from all of Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast, and Tyre and Sidon,18los cuales habían venido a oírlo y a que los sanara de sus enfermedades; y también los atormentados de espíritus inmundos eran sanados. who had come so that they might listen to him and be healed of their diseases. And those who were troubled by unclean spirits were cured.19Y toda la gente quería tocarlo, porque de Él salía virtud y sanaba a todos. And the entire crowd was trying to touch him, because power went out from him and healed all.20Entonces, alzando los ojos dijo, dirigiéndose a sus discípulos: “Dichosos los que sois pobres, porque es vuestro el reino de Dios. And lifting up his eyes to his disciples, he said: “Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.21Dichosos los que estáis hambrientos ahora, porque os hartaréis. Dichosos los que lloráis ahora, porque reiréis. Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who are weeping now, for you shall laugh.22Dichosos sois cuando os odiaren los hombres, os excluyeren, os insultaren, y proscribieren vuestro nombre, como pernicioso, por causa del Hijo del hombre. Blessed shall you be when men will have hated you, and when they will have separated you and reproached you, and thrown out your name as if evil, because of the Son of man.23Alegraos entonces y saltad de gozo, pues sabed que vuestra recompensa es mucha en el cielo. Porque de la misma manera trataron sus padres a los profetas. Be glad in that day and exult. For behold, your reward is great in heaven. For these same things their fathers did to the prophets.24Mas, ¡ay de vosotros, ricos! porque ya recibisteis vuestro consuelo. Yet truly, woe to you who are wealthy, for you have your consolation.25¡Ay de vosotros los que ahora estáis hartos! porque padeceréis hambre. ¡Ay de los que reís ahora! porque lloraréis de dolor. Woe to you who are satisfied, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.26¡Ay cuando digan bien de vosotros todos los hombres! porque lo mismo hicieron sus padres con los falsos profetas”. Woe to you when men will have blessed you. For these same things their fathers did to the false prophets.27“A vosotros, empero, los que me escucháis, os digo: Amad a vuestros enemigos, haced bien a los que os odian; But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you.28bendecid a los que os maldicen; rogad por los que os calumnian. Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who slander you.29A quien te abofetee en la mejilla, preséntale la otra; y al que te quite el manto, no le impidas tomar también la túnica. And to him who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your coat, do not withhold even your tunic.30Da a todo el que te pida; y a quien tome lo tuyo, no se lo reclames. But distribute to all who ask of you. And do not ask again of him who takes away what is yours.31Y según queréis que hagan los hombres con vosotros, así haced vosotros con ellos. And exactly as you would want people to treat you, treat them also the same.32Si amáis a los que os aman, ¿qué favor merecéis con ello? También los pecadores aman a los que los aman a ellos. And if you love those who love you, what credit is due to you? For even sinners love those who love them.33Y si hacéis bien a quienes os lo hacen, ¿qué favor merecéis con ello? También los pecadores hacen lo mismo. And if you will do good to those who do good to you, what credit is due to you? Indeed, even sinners behave this way.34Y si prestáis a aquellos de quienes esperáis restitución, ¿qué favor merecéis con ello? Los pecadores también prestan a los pecadores, para recibir el equivalente. And if you will loan to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is due to you? For even sinners lend to sinners, in order to receive the same in return.35Vosotros, amad a vuestros enemigos; haced el bien y prestad sin esperar nada en retorno, y vuestra recompensa será grande, y seréis los hijos del Altísimo; de Él, que es bueno con los desagradecidos y malos”. So truly, love your enemies. Do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return. And then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and to the wicked.36“Sed misericordiosos como es misericordioso vuestro Padre. Therefore, be merciful, just as your Father is also merciful.37No juzguéis, y no seréis juzgados; no condenéis, y no seréis condenados; absolved, y se os absolverá. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.38Dad y se os dará; una medida buena y apretada y remecida y rebosante se os volcará en el seno; porque con la medida con que medís se os medirá”. Give, and it will be given to you: a good measure, pressed down and shaken together and overflowing, they will place upon your lap. Certainly, the same measure that you use to measure out, will be used to measure back to you again.”39Les dijo también una parábola: “¿Puede acaso un ciego guiar a otro ciego? ¿No caerán los dos en algún hoyo? Now he told them another comparison: “How can the blind lead the blind? Would they not both fall into a pit?40No es el discípulo superior al maestro, sino que todo discípulo cuando llegue a ser perfecto será como su maestro. The disciple is not above his teacher. But each one will be perfected, if he is like his teacher.41¿Cómo es que ves la pajuela que hay en el ojo de tu hermano, y no reparas en la viga que está en tu propio ojo? And why do you see the straw that is in your brother’s eye, while the log that is in your own eye, you do not consider?42¿Cómo puedes decir a tu hermano: «Hermano, déjame que te saque la pajuela de tu ojo», tú que no ves la viga en el tuyo? Hipócrita, quita primero la viga de tu ojo, y entonces podrás ver bien para sacar la pajuela del ojo de tu hermano”. Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, allow me to remove the straw from your eye,’ while you yourself do not see the log in your own eye? Hypocrite, first remove the log from your own eye, and then will you see clearly, so that you may lead out the straw from your brother’s eye.43Pues no hay árbol sano que dé frutos podridos, ni hay a la inversa, árbol podrido que dé frutos sanos. For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor does an evil tree produce good fruit.44Porque cada árbol se conoce por el fruto que da. No se recogen higos de los espinos, ni de un abrojo se vendimian uvas. For each and every tree is known by its fruit. For they do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather the grape from the bramble bush.45El hombre bueno saca el bien del buen tesoro que tiene en su corazón; mas el hombre malo, de su propia maldad saca el mal; porque la boca habla de lo que rebosa el corazón. A good man, from the good storehouse of his heart, offers what is good. And an evil man, from the evil storehouse, offers what is evil. For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.46¿Por qué me llamáis: “Señor, Señor”, si no hacéis lo que Yo digo? But why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I say?47Yo os mostraré a quien se parece todo el que viene a Mí, y oye mis palabras y las pone en práctica. Anyone who comes to me, and listens to my words, and does them: I will reveal to you what he is like.48Se asemeja a un hombre que para construir una casa, cavó profundamente y puso los cimientos sobre la roca; cuando vino la creciente, el río dio con ímpetu contra aquella casa, mas no pudo moverla, porque estaba bien edificada. He is like a man building a house, who has dug deep and has laid the foundation upon the rock. Then, when the floodwaters came, the river was rushing against that house, and it was not able to move it. For it was founded upon the rock.49Pero, el que (las ) oye y no (las) pone por obra, es semejante a un hombre que construyó su casa sobre el suelo mismo, sin cimientos; el río se precipitó sobre ella, y al punto se derrumbó, y fue grande la ruina de aquella casa”. But whoever hears and does not do: he is like a man building his house upon the soil, without a foundation. The river rushed against it, and it soon fell down, and the ruin of that house was great.”
